It’s ti to make another choice.

But why isn’t it my favorite dual-choice scenario?

Staring at the four options displayed on the phone screen, Yang Qizhou felt uneasy...

"Escaping from ’Fire Stealing Village’—this is probably a mid-to-lower quality choice. The advantage is freeing oneself from all the crises currently plaguing the village. Of course, the downside is clear as well—the benefits hidden behind those crises would beco unreachable forever."

"Directly dealing with that unknown entity that recently appeared near ’Fire Stealing Village,’ dwelling along the must-pass route to the ’Desecration Stone Plate’... Forget it. This creature could force ’Old God Follower’ Alice to plead for help, its power must be terrifyingly imnse. Right now, while I can wield one quasi-legendary, two super-epic, and two epic items, after all, the character itself is just an ordinary person. If I face it head-on, it’s likely that it could kill with just a casual swipe."

"As for contacting ’Old God Follower’ Alice, this is actually a pretty good choice,"

"She fought the unknown terror and would definitely have so understanding of it. She’s also gravely injured, aning the danger posed by her is greatly reduced. With my current tools, there’s a chance to talk to her."

And the fourth option?

Yang Qizhou only glanced at it briefly before skipping over it entirely—it was beyond the realm of consideration.

With the deep emotions Lena harbors toward Fire Stealing Village, even suggesting an elopent would likely lead to an imdiate fallout, with the ga character being expelled from the village on the spot.

Ultimately, Yang Qizhou chose ’Option Three.’

After all, with the Dark Crow of Profane Fortune, if he made the wrong choice, he could just do it all over again.

"You told Lena about hearing ’Old God Follower’ Alice calling for help on the return trip and expressed that the enemy of our enemy is our friend: perhaps we could attempt communicating with her and work together to confront the unknown terror."

"Lena’s gaze turned icy cold; she did not say a word..."

"Suddenly, you recalled that Lena’s father seed to have been killed by ’Old God Follower’ Alice. Suggesting an alliance with her father’s murderer—this was no different from dancing on a minefield."

Shit, this is bad.

Had totally forgotten about that.

Yang Qizhou’s heart raced in panic—partly blaming the [Deceit World] text-based ga for glossing over vital information so briefly that it was easy to miss.

It appeared he’d have to choose again.

Yang Qizhou was already preparing himself to rely on the ’Dark Crow of Profane Fortune.’

"A deathly silence lingered for an unbearably long ti, and Lena’s answer surprised you—she actually agreed."

"Lena seed to notice your bewildernt and offered an explanation..."

"It turned out that while she still held hatred toward the ’Old God Follower’ who killed her father, as the Night Watcher Captain of ’Fire Stealing Village,’ she had an obligation to ensure the village’s survival. If interacting with the ’Old God Follower’ could lead to a way to save the village, she was willing to suppress her hatred."

"You felt a pang of heartache for this young woman, bearing burdens far beyond what her age should entail."

She held it back?

Nice,

Yang Qizhou had suspected Lena’s deep attachnt to Fire Stealing Village, but hadn’t expected her to suppress such glaring resentnt for the sake of protecting the village.

The ga continued.

"The ’Fire Stealing Ancient God’s’ blessing is fading, and the village faces doom. Without delay, you both decided to set out imdiately."

"Many villagers greeted you warmly along the way,"

"You saw the little girl from before. She ran toward you, waving her hand enthusiastically. She said, ’Big brother, you’ve brought us the God’s blessing from Dark Mist Town, right? We’re all saved now, aren’t we?’"

"Unable to bear revealing the truth, you patted the little girl’s head and replied, ’That’s right, everyone will be saved.’"

"You and Lena soon reached the vicinity of the ’Sacred Path,’"

"During monts of quiet on the way, you asked about the unfortunate happenings in the village—what exactly were they referring to?"

"Lena didn’t hold back and answered your question,"

"’The blessings of the ’Fire Stealing Ancient God’ have started to fracture. An extrely twisted and horrifying evil power is seeping into the village. Villagers, whether day or night, unconsciously fall asleep, sleepwalk, and without awareness, wander into the wilderness. Others disappear without warning. Over the last two days alone, more than thirty people have suffered calamities.’"

"Dream-related calamities..."

"You recalled the six-faced monster once ntioning taboos, and your heart trembled in shock—surely the creature that severely injured Alice was related to ’dreams.’"

"A flash of insight swept through your mind, but you couldn’t quite grasp it—it felt like you’d forgotten sothing not terribly important but not entirely irrelevant either."

"Driven by curiosity, you asked again—surely attempts were made to stop the sleepwalkers from venturing out of the village?"

"Lena’s expression revealed a bitter smile as she shared the truth... Apparently, the Night Watcher squad had indeed tried to stop those who succumbed to dreams and wandered out of the village, but anyone who approached would beco infected by the dream’s corruption. Three to five hours later, they’d enter a sleepwalking state themselves and wander into the wilderness involuntarily."

"You pressed onward, eventually arriving at the end of the Sacred Path,"

"Lena wasn’t surprised by its severance, comnting that she’d already had a premonition ever since hearing of Dark Mist Town’s destruction."

"And at that very mont."

"Both you and Lena heard a familiar plea for help—it ca from Alice herself."

Yang Qizhou paused the ga to process everything thus far.

Hm,

It didn’t seem like there was much to analyze. The only noteworthy point was the ’dream’ power seeping into the village, causing widespread harm.

Also, the phrase ’you felt a flash of insight but couldn’t grasp it, as though forgetting sothing not very important’—this struck a chord with Yang Qizhou.

Because he was experiencing the sa feeling right now,

As if sothing had been forgotten—not major, but not trivial either.

"Too bad my brilliant brain isn’t useful here."

Yang Qizhou sighed helplessly and continued the ga.

"You saw Lena trembling all over, clenching her lips tightly, her eyes burning with hatred."

"You could see through the girl’s thoughts—though she was choosing to protect the village, Lena still couldn’t bring herself to face the ’Old God Follower’ Alice, who had killed her father."

"You gestured for her to stay behind."

"Lena recognized that her current emotional state wasn’t suitable for proceeding, so she agreed to your suggestion."

"You stepped beyond the Sacred Path alone, setting foot into the wilderness teeming with both the unknown and mystery."

"You activated the effect of the ’Hidden God’s Clothes’..."

"Unbelievable luck—sohow, you didn’t encounter any twisted lifeforms or unknown evils."

"After walking for over ten minutes, you vaguely noticed a figure leaning against the trunk of a tall, ashen-yellow tree. Her clothes were soaked in dark red blood, her body riddled with countless wounds. She seed to be in a semi-conscious state, whispering pleas for help."

"You thought to yourself—even rely unconscious murmurs could travel this far? This ’Alice’ was truly terrifying."

"You dismissed your ’Hidden’ state and approached ’Alice.’"

"Despite her severely compromised state, ’Alice’ maintained a clear consciousness. Upon seeing you, she bristled with fury, evidently still seething over your past mockery."

"Then sothing horrifying occurred—you saw the surrounding grass and trees rapidly withering, everything within sight falling into decay."

"Soon, this terrifying force reached your feet."
