It wasn’t just Yang Qizhou who noticed the enhanced effects of the [ruined statue of the Abyss Old God], an ancient object—Zhou Xu, who had just led the mbers of the ’Deceit Bureau’ into the building, also sensed the anomaly.

"There’s an invisible Abyss Fog nearby, capable of confusing the five senses. This is the effect of the ancient object in Wang Chuan’s possession. Everyone, stay alert."

Zhou Xu took out a glowing orb.

The faint light enveloped the mbers of the ’Deceit Bureau,’ shielding them from the Abyss Fog’s influence.

Having almost suffered a disastrous failure at the ’Purple Flower District,’ they were particularly cautious this ti in their pursuit of ’Wang Chuan.’ They even specially requested approval from higher-ups for a superior artifact designed specifically to counter the effects of Abyss Fog.

Old Chen, who had also entered, wore a grave expression. "Boss Zhou, sothing doesn’t add up. We’re still seven floors away from the target. Even if he noticed our presence, he shouldn’t be able to affect us across several floors."

A flash of irritation crossed Zhao Keke’s eyes.

"Could that bastard be nearby? If so, I’ll roast him alive."

Zhuang Fan, the support personnel transferred from HQ and responsible for ’tracking and searching,’ shook his head. "The target is still on the thirteenth floor, I’m certain. He hasn’t changed his position."

Zhou Xu’s expression turned grim.

If ’Wang Chuan’ had indeed detected their presence and activated the [ruined statue of the Abyss Old God], that would actually be a relief—it would an the situation hadn’t spiraled out of control beyond expectations.

But if the target hadn’t moved, and the Abyss Fog was truly seeping down from the thirteenth floor, it would be a far worse scenario.

Because this would signify that the ’ancient object’ had grown stronger,

or worse... that it had gone out of control.

"Head to the thirteenth floor imdiately. Don’t worry about catching ’Wang Chuan’ for now—focus on assisting the fire departnt and evacuating everyone from the building."

"Understood, Boss Zhou."

Evidently, everyone recognized the severity of the situation and offered no objections.

But just as they reached the tenth floor, an eerie brilliance began to radiate from the stairwell of the thirteenth floor. The light’s intensity surpassed even the stars, warr than the sun. The Abyss Fog emanating from the [ruined statue of the Abyss Old God] visibly dissolved at a rapid pace.

"The Lamp Holder... how could he be here?" Zhao Keke’s eyes lit up with excitent.

Back at the ’Purple Flower District,’ this enigmatic player had left an indelible impression on everyone. Shrouded in darkness, his features were obscured, save for the bronze lantern in his hand. Its fire pierced the night, shining brighter than the twinkling stars.

Unfortunately, this mysterious figure had departed without a word, vanishing without leaving any clues.

Afterward, Zhou Xu had assigned him an A rating and coined the title ’The Lamp Holder,’ a designation that the higher-ups quickly approved, evidently agreeing with the evaluation.

Zhou Xu narrowed his eyes, considering the implications.

"A mysterious player manipulating the weather to summon rain and extinguish the fire—coincidentally, ’The Lamp Holder’ is also here. How could there be such a perfect coincidence?"

"This strongly suggests that the Lamp Holder is likely the weather-controlling player."

"So, he’s this powerful..."

The mbers of the Deceit Bureau were visibly astonished by Zhou Xu’s remarks. The previous version of ’The Lamp Holder’ had already seed formidable, earning an A rating. Yet, in the span of rely two or three days, he now displayed the ability to manipulate storms, elevating his mystique to an entirely new level.

Could this kind of power truly still fall under the A category?

Could it be that the world’s first unregistered S-class player was about to erge...?

"So it’s ’The Lamp Holder.’ I wonder, compared to the Chief, who would be stronger?" Zhuang Fan’s eyes glead with curiosity.

Fewer than ten registered players had ever been rated A . Naturally, Zhuang Fan paid attention to them, often comparing their abilities to the Chief’s and concluding that, despite their mysteriousness, the Chief’s strength was head and shoulders above them.

But now, faced with ’The Lamp Holder,’ doubt crept into his thoughts.

"Latest update... Under the lantern’s blessing, the firefighters are no longer affected by the Abyss Fog and are thodically conducting rescue operations. It seems there’s no need for us to intervene anymore."

"Everyone, move out imdiately toward ’Wang Chuan’s’ location. Zhuang Fan, lead the way. Make sure to apprehend him before the situation worsens."

As Zhou Xu’s voice trailed off, the mbers of the Deceit Bureau sprang back into action.

...

...

The faint lantern light penetrated the white fog, causing the Abyss Fog to dissipate entirely. Everyone snapped out of their illusory haze to see a figure in a white mask, holding a bronze lantern, standing at the center of the room.

Yang Qizhou erged from Hidden State.

He had no other choice—Zhao Xin was under the influence of the [ruined statue of the Abyss Old God] and was about to rcilessly kill Little Douding. If he didn’t imdiately burn away the Abyss Fog with the ’Ancient God Fire Lamp,’ the little girl would likely lose her life, and countless others would perish as well.

But intervening in reality ant forgoing his Hidden State...

"Fortunately, the first effect of the ’Hidden God’s Clothes’ is still active. Without my permission, no one can uncover my identity, so the likelihood of exposure is minimal."

With the Abyss Fog’s influence gone, firefighters quickly rushed in to evacuate the trapped civilians in an organized manner.

Zhao Xin and Ding Xiaolan were among those rescued. Through the lingering smoke, they could vaguely make out the figure holding the bronze lantern. Although they didn’t know who he was, they knew he had saved them.

Under the coordinated efforts of the firefighters and other related departnts, the building’s occupants were soon evacuated to Diamond Square. Among them were Zhao Xin and Ding Xiaolan, who held each other tightly, tears of relief flowing as they scanned their surroundings.

"Mom, I think I saw soone just now."

"Mom saw them too."

...

...

As for Yang Qizhou,

once Zhao Xin and Ding Xiaolan were safely evacuated from the building, he activated the Hidden God’s Clothes’ ability again, slipping out of the Real World.

"With law enforcent and the Deceit Bureau present, Sister Xin and Little Douding should be safe from further danger."

"Now, it’s ti to deal with the real culprit,"

"Damn you, Wang Chuan. You’ve made exert so much effort. When I find you, I’ll show you what true cruelty ans."

Yang Qizhou’s face contorted slightly with anger.

In the process of saving them, he had deployed both the ’Silver Holy Object’ and the ’Ancient God Fire Lamp.’ This would undoubtedly lead the mbers of the Deceit Bureau to deduce that the weather-controlling mysterious player was the sa individual from the ’Purple Flower District,’ further increasing the risk of exposure. This annoyed him greatly.

Wang Chuan had to die.

But just as the thought crossed his mind,

Yang Qizhou’s expression changed drastically.

"The two Rooting Hounds... they’re both dead."
