[The Torn Page of the Book of Eras] is currently the most expensive item in the Destiny Store, priced at 2000 Old Sacrifice. It contains records of major events that once took place in the history of Old Earth.
If you collect all 99 pages, you can synthesize the quasi-mythical grade [Book of Eras].
After a few days of experiencing the Deceit World, Yang Qizhou had co to realize sothing deeply: in this ga, items, grinding monsters, and exploration are all secondary.
What’s truly important is obtaining Hidden Information.
Because only by uncovering enough hidden truths can a ga character trigger more storylines, gain more freedom to act, and better advance the narrative.
Previously, money was tight. With only 1000 Old Sacrifice in his possession, he couldn’t have bought [The Torn Page of the Book of Eras] even at half price.
But now, things were different.
With 3900 Old Sacrifice in hand, even after spending 2000, there would still be 1900 left—plenty for upcoming needs. It was just the right ti to purchase a [The Torn Page of the Book of Eras] and see what major events it recorded.
As the paynt process was completed,
pale text refreshed on the eerie, patterned interface.
"You have purchased [The Torn Page of the Book of Eras]."
"You have obtained [Page 82 of The Book of Eras... Chapter of Profanation]."
"Ancient pasts are slowly being revealed before your eyes..."
Chapter of Profanation?
’Wizards’ are also referred to as Desecrators, those who desecrate divinity. Could there be so connection between the two? Yang Qizhou’s interest was piqued, and he began to examine the text more intently.
"Dust-laden history sees the light of day again."
"Since the dawn of the universe, Old Earth has existed, experiencing two epochs: Origin and Cataclysm. Whether it was the divine war the Old Gods waged to ascend as Pillars or the unforeseen disasters of the Second Epoch that caught even the Old Gods and Ancient Dominators off guard, Old Earth remained Old Earth, a fact that has never changed,"
"However, in the mid-stage of the Third Epoch, everything was overturned by the arrival of beings who had no place being on the historical stage of Old Earth."
"They desecrate divinity,"
"They occupy symbols,"
"They enslave authority."
"Neither the Old Gods, nor Ancient Dominators, nor even so of the Naless Ones could escape the shadow of terror cast by their coming."
"To combat the Earth and Mountains, the Sky initiated a challenge but lost half of its control over the Sea."
"To reclaim the Source of Original Sin, the Demon Lord led an army crawling out of the Abyss, but was crushed by the power of Divine Exaltation, scattering much of the authority it previously commanded."
"Even Naless entities descended to spread terror across the Earth, leaving behind their scepters scattered upon its soil."
"In that era of quaking skies, ruptured seas, and retreating nights, Old Earth ceased to be known as Old Earth. Instead, it was called..."
"Desecrated Land."
"This was the only ti in history when Old Earth’s na was altered."
"From that mont onward, the Third Epoch ca to be known as..."
"Desecration Era."
That concluded the content of the Chapter of Profanation. Yang Qizhou, terrified of missing out on any key details, reread it multiple tis, deeply shaken.
Desecrating divinity, enslaving authority, occupying symbols—wasn’t this essentially describing Wizards?
He’d always known these people were strong, but not this strong.
Based on [The Torn Page of the Book of Eras]’ revelations, starting from the birth of the universe, Old Earth had always been Old Earth, unchanging even amidst the divine wars of the First Epoch or the mysterious disasters of the Second Epoch.
However, everything changed when Wizards stepped onto the stage of history.
Old Earth’s na was altered, becoming Desecrated Land.
The epoch itself was renad the Desecration Era.
This information alone allowed one to deduce that the Wizards of that ti essentially ruled the entire world. The Old Gods, the Unknown Entities, the Ancient Dominators—they all lived under the shadow of the Wizards.
For Wizards, this must have been an incredibly glorious era.
But another question naturally arose... How did Wizards, who ruled Old Earth and dominated an entire epoch, eventually fall and disappear?
Ancient Gods?
Yang Qizhou let out a mocking sneer. Ha, they wish.
When he first heard Lena’s account, she claid that the three Ancient God Kings joined forces, leading nurous Ancient Gods, ultimately defeating the evil Wizards and blessing all beings as epochs transitioned. Back then, Yang Qizhou had little exposure to Hidden Information. His knowledge of Old Earth’s chronology was basically blank, so he had genuinely believed it was true.
But as the ga progressed and more Hidden Information was uncovered, he increasingly felt sothing was amiss.
Wizards, as Desecrators, had not only ruled Old Earth but also controlled an epoch and led an entire era. Whether Old Gods, Ancient Dominators, or Naless Ones, all were forced to live under their shadow.
If the Ancient Gods truly managed to defeat Wizards, logic would dictate that they should have absolute dominion over Old Earth.
But the reality...
Ancient Gods repeatedly faced problems. God’s Fortress, Asgard, was so riddled with infiltration by Unknown Evil Gods it resembled a sieve. The Wind Lord ruling the Silver Kingdom and the Order Lord overseeing Eternal Night’s Curtain consistently refused to respect the authority of Ancient Gods upon their return. The Lord of Night in charge of Eternal Night’s Curtain blatantly ignored Ancient Gods’ concerns as well.
Was such a group capable of defeating Wizards?
Anyone with a shred of logical reasoning wouldn’t believe it.
Yang Qizhou thought of even more.
"The Mysticism Chapter from the Truth Hall includes topics on Old Gods, Outer Gods, Ancient Dominators, and Hidden Beings, yet it conspicuously excludes any discussion of Ancient Gods,"
"As if, within Mysticism, Ancient Gods were never ant to exist in the first place."
"The origins of Ancient Gods..."
"There’s sothing fishy here."
Lost in thought, Yang Qizhou lanted that his understanding of Ancient Gods was still too limited—barely scratching the surface. Without more evidence, he couldn’t make any definitive speculations and so decided to set this matter aside for now.
He then shifted his focus to another piece of information revealed in the Chapter of Profanation...
"To combat Earth and Mountains, the Sky initiated a challenge but lost half of its control over the Sea... This likely refers to the Wind Lord, whose authority encompasses Sky and Wind. However, it’s surprising to learn that he also partially commands the Sea—it’s truly unexpected."
"So, Earth and Mountains must refer to the Wizards’ side,"
"Summing it up, the Wind Lord seems to have challenged a Wizard possessing authority over Earth and Mountains, only to have half of his control over the Sea taken away, forcing him into hiding."
"Seriously, the Wind Lord is just pitiful. First, he lost his eyes to Doomsday, and now half of his marine authority has been stolen by Earth and Mountains."
"Pitiful, pitiful, pitiful."
"Next up is the second point..."
"The Demon Lord once led an army out of the Abyss in an attempt to reclaim the Source of Original Sin, only to be crushed by the power of Divine Exaltation, scattering portions of his authority."
"’Divine Exaltation’ surely refers to a powerful Wizard. While the Source of Original Sin remains uncertain, given the nature of the Desecration Era, it’s undoubtedly intertwined with the Wizards."
"The Demon Lord losing parts of his authority... must’ve also been a bitter defeat."
"Finally, the third point..."
"Even a Naless entity descended to scatter terror across the Earth, but left its scepter behind... I wonder whether this entity has any link to the four Naless Lands today. Regardless, it clearly fell victim to the Wizards’ might."
"Hmm,"
"It’s already confird that the Wind Lord was a victim,"
"But I wonder who the other two victims were."
’Analysis’ sure burns brain cells. After deducing so much Hidden Information, Yang Qizhou stretched out heavily to alleviate his physical fatigue.
The Chapter of Profanation had been deciphered, and the useful Hidden Information had largely been extracted.
Buying more [The Torn Page of the Book of Eras] was not an imdiate necessity, and anyway, his ’Old Sacrifice’ funds had run dry.
Ti to jump back into the ga.
"Continue, continue, let’s aim to snag [Lucky Coin] and [Foolish Snake Skin] today. If I can switch careers to a Wizard, that’d be even better."
Thinking of the Wizards’ overwhelming power left Yang Qizhou eagerly anticipating. Filled with resolve, he grabbed his phone and formally re-entered the ga.
Pale text refreshed once again...
...
...
"You have returned to the Truth Hall,"
"Just as you barely grasp your surroundings, you see Little Seventeen skip up cheerfully, saying... Future great Wizard, dying once must’ve been unpleasant—how did you die? Can you tell Little Seventeen? Little Seventeen is really curious."
"Recalling the experience of your flesh and bones being gnawed apart and turned into excrent, your face darkens in fury, suspecting this overly lifelike doll is intentionally provoking you. You glare at it fiercely and refuse to answer the question."
"No matter how much Little Seventeen pleads, you continue ignoring it."
"You ponder..."
"That cursed Polluted Mountain Edge—until you truly beco a Wizard, you must not go back there. You definitely don’t wish to relive the experience of becoming excrent."
"Black Water Reef? No need to even consider it. According to Little Seventeen’s descriptions, that map is supposedly even more terrifying than Polluted Mountain Edge. Entering would only an dying faster."
"Having barely escaped from Polluted Mountain Edge in disgrace, you now stand at a crossroads of fate once again."
"Will you choose to go to Asgard?"
"Return to the Original Land?"
"Or recklessly decide to revisit Polluted Mountain Edge or Black Water Reef, experiencing ten thousand bizarre ways to die?"
"Please make your choice."
...
...
What is the aning behind this third option?
That smug narrator is definitely mocking —absolutely mocking . Stop with the passive-aggressive sarcasm already, you jerk.
Angry to the point of exasperation, Yang Qizhou gulped down several sips of cola before regaining composure and seriously weighing his next move.
"Polluted Mountain Edge and Black Water Reef are no-go zones; the narrator’s explanation was clear enough—entering ans death, dying ans revival, reviving ans more death, and if it doesn’t progress the storyline, it’s pointless."

"As for the other two options..."
