"I’m going to do it."
"Don’t you dare do it!"
"I have to do it."
"Are you insane?!"
"Yes."
"You’re crazy!"
"I know."
"What you’re trying to achieve is impossible!"
"Then I just have to make it possible."
"You could die!"
"Only if it kills ."
"Yes! That’s what dying ans!"
Zion and Derry went back and forth as they talked about his next big idea, which was to make him more powerful. He had studied the Tessa Suit and was fascinated by the nanoparticles and their ability to self-repair.
"Think about it, though, we could have an insane healing factor if this experint works!" He argued.
Derry rubbed her temples, frustrated at Zion’s recklessness. "Or you would die! Just stick to using healing magic and the wood elent. Hell, even the healing rune is better than what you want to do."
"We’ll be using the rune of healing in this process. Besides, healing magic isn’t perfect. It can’t restore limbs if the cells around the wound die. Also, reattaching them would be out of the question for the sa reason. Only one god has divine healing abilities, two if you count Luminera, but we can’t use their power for this."
"Why are you always trying to break away from conventional things? Why can’t you just be normal?" Derry sighed, visibly stressed out by Zion’s antics
"Are you here because you’re normal? Think about what normal has done for you in your life. Sure, it’s gotten you places, but now think about the things you’ve learned after you joined . I’m sure your normal scale broke a while ago."
"Yes, but it didn’t involve engraving runes on every cell in my body!" She argued back
"There’s a famous saying that I learned. It goes ’If one does not take risks, then how can they call themselves a risk taker?’"
"Who said that shit?"
"Sun Tzu, or soone. I don’t know, I probably made that up just now, but my point still stands."
"I won’t help you."
"Fine. You’re fired."
"You can’t scare with that."
"Dammit. Okay, if you help out, I’ll give you six months’ vacation."
Derry’s whole deanor changed. She straightened her back and looked at Zion with a serious, professional expression. "With paid leave?" She asked
"And bonuses." Zion smiled.
"Fine, call Brok, I’ll need his rune expertise."
"Yes!"
After their conversation, Zion called Brok over and inford his family about his project. Just like Derry, they all shared their concerns, but after seeing how adamant he was about this, they decided to allow it.
"We’ll be watching over the procedure and stop it if anything goes wrong," Zaleena said
"I’ll help. My knowledge of runes is second to none, and I’m up to date on the science information you’ve provided." Raven announced, hoping her being there would increase his chances of survival.
"If this works, I wonder how strong you’ll beco?" Hanna wondered.
"This probably won’t make stronger, just increase my regenerative abilities, and maybe my lifeforce as well. It’s sort of like my Runic Body, it’s not my main strength but an addition."
Reina’s eyes lit up. "Speaking of the Runic Body, I need to learn that."
The other won all nodded at her words.
"Okay, so here’s how the procedure will go down. I’ll be inside this machine that highlights all the cells in my body. Sure, there are trillions of them, but thanks to the beauty of mana, interacting with them will be easy. Brok will engrave the rune of healing, repair, and replication on my mana, which will then be grafted onto my cells. The repair and replication runes will only activate when the healing rune activates, and the healing rune will activate once sothing in my body is damaged or destroyed, such as dying cells or wounds. That’s the gist of it." Zion explained
"Great! Let’s begin. Mama needs a vacation!" Derry excitedly prepped Zion while humming to herself, already imagining what she was going to do once she got a break.
"Vitals are stable. His body is healthy. Runes are repped and ready. Begin procedure." Brok announced
Just like Zion explained, the machine he was in connected to the mana in his body, which in turn connected to the cells in his body.
"Ooo, this feels tingly. It’s like my entire body is vibrating. Honestly, not a bad feeling. Oh, now it feels like sothing is poking . Ouch! Oh fuck, it’s starting to hurt now-OH FUCK AHHHHH ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
---
"I’m never doing that again," Zion grumbled as he stepped out of the machine. He had visibly grown a few inches and was even more handso than he already was.
"D-Did it work?" Hanna asked, drooling slightly as she stared at Zion’s bare chest.
"I don’t know, let’s see." In one swift motion, he cut off his own arm and watched as it fell to the floor. Normally, any person would scream or be completely horrified at this sight, but everyone here was built differently.
After a few seconds, his severed arm and the open wound began to glow with an eerie green light. A shimring beam of energy extended from the wound, latching onto the dismbered limb. Then, as if drawn by an invisible force, the arm shot through the air and reattached itself seamlessly.
"Hmmmm. This isn’t what I wanted." So Zion cut off his arm once more, but this ti, he completely destroyed it, leaving no traces behind, not even his blood. Then, just like what happened previously, his open wound glowed green, but this ti, his arm grew back, bone, flesh, muscles, nerves, and everything. Even the runes replicated with his new arm.
"Okay, that’s aweso." Lidia had to admit.
"I’ll definitely have to add this to my mana thod." Zion grinned, relishing in his new regenerative power.
"Once you do, teach it to us because that can co in handy." Zaleena always looked forward to Zion’s new paths to power and welcod them with open arms. After all, once Zion got stronger, so did she.
"Only dragons have regeneration like that," Raved said in awe.
"And demons," Zion added
[Congrats, Host.]
’Thanks, Tessa.’
Zion then thought of sothing: "I wonder if I can survive if my head gets severed."
"NOOOO!" Everyone shouted as they stopped Zion from doing sothing stupid.
