"Please... save , and that brave man over there..."
The girl wearing a purple ritual robe pleaded, for her current dire situation, even the slightest chance had to be seized.
"Since you sincerely beg, I will rcifully save you. As for you... your chanical arm looks great, now it belongs to ."
Fafna nodded. Who wouldn’t want a chanical arm brought up with a middle-click for convenience?
Magnus was clueless.
Zote concluded that this silver-haired lizard wasn’t very intelligent.
"Don’t get involved; this person is very dangerous."
Garscek, awakening before the ti of Emperor Engma, had seen so powerful individuals. This strange feeling, she only encountered it in those so-called Radiant Knights.
They said they let Fafna temper her skills, but this guy was not within the realm of tempering at all.
She whispered a few words to Fafna.
Fafna nodded.
"That’s it."
Zote stopped speaking further, ordered his n to retreat behind him, and kept an eye on Magnus. He knew Priest Sharon’s whereabouts; as for the girl, it didn’t matter. He was a man of his word; if he said to release, he would.
Garscek sneered; she couldn’t stand such arrogant people.
The high-end fashion, sun hat, and sunglasses by Duguli were incinerated into ashes by dark purple flas in an instant, and her tall, almost eerie 2.2-ter fra was covered by black scale armor.
Her long, waterfall-like dark purple hair fell down, with eyes of the sa color, and an invisible pressure spread out.
"The ability to silence word spirit magic? I acknowledge you. But if it’s just pure energy..."
Garscek raised a finger. Swirling energy particles, as if absorbed by a cosmic black hole, and even light couldn’t escape. The once sunlit Salt Lake beach suddenly turned dusky.
Everyone present found it hard to breathe, with even tinnitus, as though the dium transmitting sound had disappeared.
No sound at all.
More terrifying than the magic energy beam driven by Red Crystal was the energy beam that exploded from the tip of her finger, piercing out of sight in an instant.
The structure of the Salt Lake beach’s stratum was blasted into a tunnel, penetrating towards Zote. No matter how fast he was, he couldn’t be faster than light; Zote couldn’t dodge.
"As I said, I am this world’s highest authority on wizard hunting... Unless a True God shows divine might, all magic is ineffective. Second Magic Restriction, release."
Zote didn’t avoid, stepping forward, absorbing the energy beam instantly with so invisible existence.
"The only ones who could kill have unmatched martial skills, but unfortunately..."
Zote didn’t continue. His left hand seed to store the energy Garscek had just released, the chainmail-covered arm emitting dark purple glow.
"Reverse Magic Technique, generate."
Imdiately, he wiped his left hand over that exaggeratedly shaped, single-edged massive blade, infusing all the stored energy into the knife, the two-ter-long blade burning with strange dark purple flas.
Zote tested his hand, waving it a few tis. The blade’s flas instantly evaporated the lake water, creating the screeching sound of countless bubbles bursting at once.
"Now, you should die."
The lake water under Zote’s feet exploded into a giant wave, catapulting him like an arrow, the energy-dissolving aura of the massive blade like a teor.
"Be careful!"
Following Ox’s guidance, Fafna needed to use every advantage. This was a lake, and this guy was too strange; no magic technique worked on him. Changing the target should work, right?
"Freeze!"
Fafna cast a magic on the lake water, her power terrifying. She could freeze the sea before. The depth of the Salt Lake visibly declined, the lake water shallowed a bit. This Salt Lake was the fourth-largest east of the Narrow Sea.
Hundreds of rolling spiral water pillars like dragons were drawn from the lake, condensed into a swirling wind of ice shards beside her, the front turned into an icy hell of extre cold.
Aiming to block the surging Zote.
Mulong, under scorching sun, usually felt above forty degrees. On this Salt Lake, it was like the Northern Realm’s winter. The icy wind lowered the surrounding area to freezing point, covering everyone except Zote in frost, limiting movent. The beach fully iced over, a carriage could run on it.
Magnus was dumbfounded. A dragon? But... Zote could match such divine power!
Zote was completely enveloped by the ice storm, trapped in a cutting and freezing hell, his sight restricted to a white mass, the fierce howl deafening him.
As if stripped of sight and hearing.
But he didn’t need them. Battle experience judged the air flow in the chaotic ice storm. The dragon breath energy-infused blade relentlessly slashed.
The all-encompassing, endless surging ice storm indeed trapped him for a painfully long five to six seconds. With the final large sweeping cut, the sky cleared, and strong circular air currents pushed down everyone standing.
"Your Majesty, she’s toying with you."
Fafna joked with Zote, turning into the red warmth maker. With her monster power, she lifted the mysterious girl and the chanical arm like lifting chicks.
"Next ti, you won’t be so lucky. Let’s go, find the scar-faced first."
Garscek cast Gravity Magic again. She could continue but had to think of the child, this guy was too risky. Undoubtedly the scariest she had seen since awakening.
"Did I let you go?"
Zote needed to know the whereabouts of Priest Sharon from Magnus. A key Church Court mber and Marcus, who manifested the divine presence of the Dragon Lord, were both ntor and friend.
He had to continue the pursuit.
But it was impossible. The innate disparity between humans and dragons was insurmountable. As strong as Zote was, even as an emperor, compared to their movent speed, it was like a wheelchair racing a subspace flying ship.
Garscek taught Fafna a magic without manifesting her true form, to fly with wings, avoiding detection by adventurers, who’d report to the adventurer’s guild and form more dragon slayer teams to solve the Dragon Calamity.
The chaos was the sa as before. Turbulent air, strong winds, a massive shadow covered for a mont, then swept across the sky, disappearing from view in an instant.
"Are you alright, Captain?"
A clergyman brushed off the frost, shivering in the cold. Luckily, the high temperature in Mulong ward the stiff body. Watching the disappearing dragons, he never thought he’d see such creatures in his life.
"I’m fine. We must report to the Church Court imdiately. Two heretics desecrating the Dragon Lord appeared... Imdiately."
Zote paused, ensuring everything was secure. In the Eternal Sect’s doctrine, their revered Dragon Lord’s copper-stamped emblem and even the Golden Dragon’s patterns were dragons. The appearance of other dragons inevitably caused misunderstandings.
The Dragon Lord is the only True God; other dragons’ existence was blasphemy. According to doctrine, these two demon dragons must be eradicated.
This was perfect. The Church Court would dispatch more strong forces. From tomorrow, they would progress on both eastern and western fronts.
