Huitt never expected this to happen.

Neither did Rein, just a doctor’s visit turned into sothing unimaginable.

All of a sudden, his spirit was fully tightened, adrenaline soaring, he imdiately flipped the table, the massive strength throwing it, the solid wood furniture, weighing about 300 pounds, was directly hurled at Huitt.

The oversized arcane missile shot out, shattering the desk into layers of splinters, exploding fragnts hitting the floor, with so wooden pieces even embedding into the stone walls.

The entire consultation room was covered in broken bottles, jars, and insect specins.

After throwing the furniture, Rein agilely clambered onto the crystal chandelier on the ceiling to avoid the horrifying arcane missile, the chandelier shaking violently.

He was about to leap and strip this magician.

Damn it! The chanical arm on his left hand was powerless!

The connection between the chandelier and the ceiling broke, Rein was too heavy, and with the shaking, he crashed heavily onto the ground, using the montum to twist his body to the side and run, charging at the magician with all his might to take his life.

But the hesitation due to the chanical arm’s weakness, along with Rein’s acclimatization issues, gave Huitt enough breathing space.

Several small arcane missiles continued to shoot out, one of which hit Rein’s chanical arm, causing it to explode into a burst of sparks.

As a mber of the committee, Huitt was far from being an adventurer or a Jianghu Mage, the Wind Elent Magic was cast instantly, and seven to eight wind blades ca howling in like a train.

Rein waved his remaining right hand, armored with magic-patterned arm armor, aided by his extre agility, as the power of the wind blades forced him to retreat repeatedly, he still managed to block them all, the clanging sounds loud and clear.

In his exhausted state, Rein’s breathing beca uneven, his fatigue was evident.

"Fuck you! I told you I didn’t know what was inside."

Rein tried to reason.

"If I were in your position, I would say the sa. Ti’s almost up."

Huitt said blandly.

"Who are you kidding?"

Rein regretted all these years of excessive eating and drinking, if it were seven years ago, in such a confined room, he would have torn your head off.

There’s still a chance!

Just another old guy.

There wasn’t just Huitt here, people in the experintal field would soon be coming over upon hearing the noise.

Just as Rein was about to pounce on Huitt again.

Several gunshots.

Coming from the passage of the laboratory entrance, two bullets hit Rein’s shoulder and chest.

Though not as tough as Wolman’s natural scale armor, Rein also had thick skin and was tough, ordinary firearms’ bullets couldn’t penetrate him.

Just when he was about to continue his rampage.

Rein, already dizzy and weak, felt his consciousness becoming even more blurred, looking at the places where he was shot, strangely there was no blood, but injecting-like things.

"I really fucking..."

The potent tranquilizer, strong enough to take down a magic beast, had him in a mid-swear collapse.

"What should we do with him? Teacher."

The male gunman who erged from the passage respectfully asked Huitt.

"Isn’t this... the deputy leader of the Starving Wolf Adventure Group, known as a walking treasure map, also a mber of the Black Sail? Speaking of which... isn’t our senior also in the Black Sail?"

The female gunman examined Rein closely as he fell to the ground, she then rembered this matter, although external personnel were not allowed to do anything outside their tasks, that person was likely in the city now.

Oxford, generally referred to as little Pedan National.

The Pedan National Arcane Academy is one of the most prestigious universities in the Western Continent, completing studies there guarantees great success, joining the Royal Court to serve the Royal Family is the minimum, so even catch the court’s favor, changing their fate, gaining promotions, and shaking off commoner status.

Fen was considered a senior to these people, also one of those expelled from the school. There were quite a few Peidan two-faced like Fen, but he was one of the more influential ones, posing a serious threat, rising back up in just a few years.

Huitt thought for a mont, he was originally planning to let Rein go, a bit of drugging and so spells to make him confused, feeling like he had just dread, his mory would beco fuzzy, considering the Eastern Sea Dog Pirates might trace back to find them.

The female student’s words made it impossible to let Rein go, with that young man’s temperant, if the experintal base were found, it would be completely destroyed by the Black Sail, and all research results would be seized.

Mulong’s recent months of warfare brought imnse breakthroughs to Huitt’s academic research. The Magic Refinent created to counter Aran Life Alchemy was only one last hurdle away.

"We can’t let him go."

Huitt made a decision.

"Should we kill him, and dissolve him with strong acid like those Aran prisoners, flushing it down the sewers?"

The male gunman loaded live ammunition into his rifle, though werewolves have thick skin, a shot to the temple would definitely kill.

Drifting City was once extrely prosperous, its sewer system far better than even so modern large cities now.

"No, let’s use him as the first test subject. The process is now fully matured, we can observe his death response and break through the last rejection barrier."

Huitt decided.

The male gunman was excitedly, experints conducted on Aran prisoners were only at stages, no one has survived a complete Magic Refinent transformation yet.

"I will go prepare the defibrillator and witchcraft potions."

The male gunman couldn’t wait.

All test subjects died midway, at this ti, the cardiac defibrillator and powerful anti-failure special potions were very useful, they could temporarily extend the life of the dead, allowing the experint to complete.

Indeed, both Life Alchemy and Magic Refinent fell into the scope of Black Magic, reasons for which the Tower Alliance would hold them accountable.

But compared to the gigantic state machinery, the semi-academic council stands behind.

Still, this had to be conducted in secret to prevent a bad influence.

"Right, this werewolf is missing an arm, let’s use Master Lockhan’s magic rune weapon. Its load capacity is not designed for humans, implant it in him and see if it can be triggered in overclocking state."

Huitt calmly said.

The male gunman was shocked. Master Lockhan was the top ard architect in the Western Continent, and his latest work was crafted from ancient divine steel forged into a magic rune weapon.

This fine steel forging technique has long been lost, now even integrated with magic rune construction, it is the ultimate modern magic-guided weapon, unimaginable if it could be activated.

"Understood."

The male gunman imdiately set off to prepare the equipnt and activate devices in the laboratory.

"What about Fen?"

The female student asked weakly.

"That’s not our concern, we only focus on completing the experint. It’s up to the higher-ups to handle, just report it, though I doubt it matters much. Princess Diana, more appropriately quasi crown princess, seems to have an affection for him. After Fen caused all that, the royal family’s reputation was tarnished, its influence greatly diminished."

Huitt said calmly, ignoring complicated emotional entanglents. Though Fen’s father was hard by the Queen and her backing family, making undead creatures to cause such a stir was still too inhuman.

Only a small circle knew, and Huitt happened to be one, that the undead attack not only struck the royal marriage but Fen was also the crown prince’s top rival.

But none of this mattered, as Pedan Royal Family’s influence declined with the rise of the magic energy industrial revolution, giant military executives now held real power, like the Magic Energy Industrial Committee, its commissioner’s pomp outweighed the King’s.

Comparing to the constitutional monarchy of Lostra, it wasn’t far off, and in so ways, the Lostra Queen had more authority than Pedan’s.

While the Empress still held decision-making power, every decision of the Pedan Royal Family had to be negotiated with the executives. With an external threat like Aran, it wasn’t ti for regi reform, they stayed obedient in their place as wealthy landlords, able to mobilize the Royal City Army, and maintain so face.

Of course, the truth was unsaid, officially a monarchy, the system ran as an Elder Council, an unspoken, delicate balance.

"Okay then."

The female student secretly admired Fen, an icon for the punk youth of Pedan, proving that good looks are a significant advantage.

"Let’s start the experint imdiately."

"What if... the experint succeeds?"

"What are you thinking? That would be ideal. We’d deploy him to the battlefield to observe effects. If he loses control, it doesn’t matter. We bring the data back to Pedan and rise to new heights."

Huitt closed the clinic door, instructing the female student to have so people clean up outside, while he entered the laboratory passage.

Rein was dragged into the lab by additional personnel.

Thus began the transformation by Magic Refinent.
