January 6th, at noon.
Inside the castle study in the eastern part of the Inner City.
Dreya yawned with her hand over her mouth while a lazy cat lay on her legs. redith had been "too busy" these days, being the mainstay of the family. She was suffering from a sore back and was taking a sweet nap on Dreya’s legs.
Goria was cooking lunch downstairs in the kitchen.
Dreya was sowhat worried, Liszt had actually eloped with his girlfriend, perhaps due to being too busy. Mo Yutong hadn’t co ho these last few days, that rascal either.
She was forever flipping through books, searching for ways to prolong life, although Liszt was young now, to her, ti flew like a white steed flitting past a gap. Liszt didn’t have many decades left, and this was already Dreya’s twenty-ninth decade.
After Start of Spring, though the snow hadn’t lted, the gloomy skies gradually cleared.
The noon sunlight, filtering through dense leaves, cast dappled light onto the forest where Dreya carefully lifted redith’s head and propped it with a pillow. The girl needed so replenishnt, probably from indulging too much lately.
She got out of bed and slightly drew the curtains.
Dreya was also searching through books for the whereabouts of the Junlin Sword. Historically, it wasn’t rare for people to collect them, with the record being seventeen, but their whereabouts later beca unknown.
The most baffling story was about that Radiant Knight who ca from beyond the stars, the regicidal sword had never been heard from again. Perhaps that sword was the main one.
Theoretically, the Junlin Sword, crafted by the Magicians of that era, was a Curse Artifact ant to kill upon touch and shouldn’t possess those strange effects.
Legends say that the outsider wasn’t hard by the Junlin Sword—instead, the unmatched hatred and resentnt of thirty-two Knights, resurrected from the Netherworld, was inflicted upon him, allowing him to break into the Imperial City and slay the tyrant.
Perhaps finding the main sword could explain everything.
And Dreya, in an inconspicuous corner of ancient tos, discovered a small town where the alien visitor had once stayed for three years.
There was no consensus on where his body was buried. Perhaps she should try her luck. After all, having stayed on the island for four years without moving, she beca sowhat tired of it.
Liszt didn’t let her get involved in anything, which was truly a pitiable display of male chauvinism.
When Goria brought the elaborately prepared al to the second floor.
"Let’s... go on a vacation."
Dreya suggested.
"Huh?"
Goria was sowhat confused.
anwhile.
The underground drug-production site of Skull Club had been cleared out by Fen, quite spacious with several large underground rooms suitable for storing materials and various equipnt.
Since it was a place for producing drugs, the ventilation was quite good, with no lack of air.
Waiting only for Fen to set up various arrangents, it would beco a base for Necromancers, but it was just a temporary location. Fen planned to set up a laboratory in the castle later, preparing for future sches.
There were many types of Necromancy.
The most common was the resurrected corpse, which Fen had used to eliminate large enemy forces during his ti at the secret port.
Next were the advanced Corpse Ghosts; dead bodies could be processed with secret dicine. Since they were dead, Life Alchemy wouldn’t work, but other runes could be engraved to enhance them.
"Really impressive, this corpse’s quality—if sold in the Necromancy market, it would be worth over a hundred Golden Dragons."
Fen looked at "Fisher" who had walked around and nodded, giving his evaluation.
The Western Continent had many systems for body strengthening; clearly, Fisher was an excellent practitioner, possessing physical qualities several tis superior to ordinary people.
Wolman and Ox were soon to set sail, Rein Mika was preoccupied with hospital matters, only Shadi was available, accompanied by... Brenda.
Since it didn’t matter to whom the arms were sold, securing an order from Liszt was not bad at all. They had a great conversation last night. Liszt had paid a deposit of two hundred Golden Dragons, and the entire order was worth a thousand Golden Dragons, all top-notch Magic Energy Devices.
But Liszt was just trying this out and might need more in the future.
In fact, Mo Yutong had participated in the operation of the Aran Train and understood how machinery and Magic Energy could be combined. After obtaining the equipnt, Liszt planned to have her research it and was also considering setting up his own military factory.
Taking this girl was truly a stroke of great luck, the Atomic Heart Church had to heed her call. She was talented, a Hexagon Warrior, unparalleled.
"Big holiday tomorrow, Claude is getting married, and your art is not exactly auspicious."
Shadi was also staring at Fisher’s corpse.
Now Fisher was extrely eerie. As the saying goes, ’you live off the mountain if you live by the mountain; you live off the sea if you live by the sea,’ Fen had also acquired so Magic Beasts from adventurers for the creation of Corpse Ghosts.
Fisher had a naturally ferocious face, which did not diminish after death. His back was embedded with eight whip-like pitch-black squid tentacles, and his legs were replaced with the skeletal structure of kangaroo legs. His exposed black muscle fibers were showing.
His skin was a kind of corpse-dark color that had been alchemically treated, with dark purple runes flowing over his body, his eyes emitting a purple light, and the snake tattoo on his neck still visible.
"How effective is this thing in battle?"
Shadi was rubbing his hands, the place was too eerie. He had planned to lure Brenda to this secluded area to deepen their cooperation, just stopping by to see Fen, but now he had lost all interest.
"It’s hard to say, it does not have any of the realms Liszt ntioned – no Jiedan Realm or Nascent Soul Realm. It depends, but in hand-to-hand combat, until its spell power runs out, it should be able to withstand an army of about a hundred regular troops."
Fen, having not made a Corpse Ghost for a while, had stayed up late last night working overti to finish, feeling so long-lost excitent.
"That’s terrifying, bro. The Yu Yin Emperor that Liszt ntioned, Sun sothing, might just look like this."
Shadi uttered sharply, coming across this thing would not just be a fight, it would scare your soul away.
Under the control of Fen’s spell power silk, every part of Fisher could operate, after all, there was no damage before, only the addition of a core in his head and chest.
"Ape God, arise from the cave!"
Fisher, controlled by Fen, could still use his vocal cords, but what he said sounded extrely eerie.
It gave both Shadi and Brenda quite a scare. What the hell are you pulling off here out of nowhere?
Fisher, continued to be controlled by Fen, acting like a clown.
"I am Rein, and I declare one thing, I am a fool!"
Fisher started dancing.
Had Caroso been here, he’d certainly fight Fen, desecrating the dead should have its limits.
"That’s enough." Fen was quite solemn. "Brenda, Reggae Defense, unlike those mining and timber companies, inherently has a gangster nature. We can have extensive cooperation in the future, Black Sail Trading Company has the strength."
In a couple of days, Liszt would also be leaving, although Fen wanted to go to the New Continent, he had to stay back to maintain control.
The Skull Club’s pillbox had been given to the crew of the SS Fuma Keqing Revenge for their lodging, turning this place into the pirates’ den.
At this mont, a pirate rushed in frantically.
"First Officer, there’s trouble."
The pirate spoke with urgency but not much detail.
Fen could tell it was not a major problem.
"Speak."
"Taylor’s daughter has approached Liszt, asking him to help rescue Taylor."
