Chapter 79: Chapter 75: What a Big Talk! Chapter 79: Chapter 75: What a Big Talk! “Imperial Censor? How did an Imperial Censor co into the picture? Since the State Preceptor is fabricating a rebellion involving you and the Imperial Censor, the two of you must have known each other before. Otherwise, the State Preceptor wouldn’t aim at nothing like this!”

Li Ping’an was becoming more and more alard as he listened. The common people of the world were suffering so much, yet the Imperial Court continued its endless internal squabbles. How truly lantable and deplorable it was – at that mont, if it hadn’t been for his search for Zixia, he would have wanted to leave the complicated and troubleso Three Auxiliaries of Chang’an right away.

“You may be naive, but you’re sharp as a tack, able to spot the heart of the issue with just one glance.”

Zhuge Weiwei, at this mont, actually looked at Li Ping’an with admiration, speaking in a pleasant tone:

“You’re right; the Imperial Censor is also a mber of the Futang Group!”

“You see, I just knew it…”

Li Ping’an said.

“You know jack shit!”

Zhuge Weiwei gave a disdainful look to the self-proclaid astute Li Ping’an:

“The Imperial Censor Xiao Wangba was originally a person of utmost loyalty and patriotism, a forr minister who was highly regarded by the previous Emperor. But Emperor Li Gai, the current Emperor, is too dim-witted and immoral. Disheartened and chilled to the bone, that’s why he joined our Futang Group.”

“Alright, alright, your Imperial Court matters have nothing to do with . I’ll just treat it as a story, and let’s end the topic here.”

Li Ping’an understood one principle: the more you know, the faster you die, especially since he was about to enter Chang’an, so he decided to drop the subject.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Suddenly, the sound of banging on a wooden clapper ca from outside the prison. Li Ping’an, puzzled, asked:

“Why is there a watchman in this prison? Besides, it’s not even ti yet for that. What are they knocking for, stirring up so much annoyance and irritation?”

“Hahahaha!”

Zhuge Weiwei found Li Ping’an increasingly endearing and amusing, and said with glee:

“Kid, that’s not for telling the ti; it’s a call for your life. It ans when the watchman knocks again, you’ll be dragged out and beheaded. What now? Scared?”

“Scared? What a joke!”

Li Ping’an said with disdain:

“I was just thinking about going to Chang’an. If I were to kill all the governnt officers guarding here, I will surely turn this minor issue into a big fuss, which would make it harder to get to Chang’an afterward.”

“There you go boasting again!”

Zhuge Weiwei’s face showed disbelief.

Li Ping’an pointed to the prison wall and flicked it lightly:

“Old man, you still don’t believe it. As you said, the chances are slim that I can leave through the front door, so I might as well break out through the wall. But you old guy are watching here. If I try to leave now and you start shouting to claim credit, then I definitely won’t be able to escape.”

“Hmph! What good will escaping do you?”

Zhuge Weiwei posed a soul-searching question:

“All your money was taken by the Qi County Magistrate, and you’re penniless. You might escape the Qi County Magistrate today, but tomorrow there will be another corrupt and vile County Magistrate waiting for you. To get to Chang’an without spending a di, you’re dreaming!”

“You old thing, you finally said sothing useful. That’s right, I have to get my money back indeed. Otherwise, there’s no way I can deal with the monsters and demons I’ll encounter down the line!”

Li Ping’an had made up his mind, glancing at Zhuge Weiwei with so hesitation.

“Why are you looking at ? Afraid I’ll snitch? You don’t really think you can break out through the wall, do you?”

Zhuge Weiwei closed his eyes, saying helplessly:

“Rest assured, even if I did see it, I wouldn’t snitch. If you’re going to leave, go now. Don’t stand here bluffing and bragging, making a fool of others with your nonsense.”

Li Ping’an stared at Zhuge Weiwei as he sat down, and said indifferently,

“Don’t rush, we will et outside in a mont. By the way, where is the Qi County Magistrate’s Governnt Office located?”

Zhuge Weiwei had nothing else to do and took Li Ping’an’s words as jest, so he inford Li Ping’an of the location where the Qi County Magistrate resided.

But just as Zhuge Weiwei finished speaking, the constable who had co before, accompanied by two junior jailers, walked over.

“My lord, I am truly wronged! May I ask if the lord has inford the County Magistrate?”

“Go away, stop babbling. A man about to die has so much to say.”

After scolding Li Ping’an, the constable paid him no more attention, which further solidified Li Ping’an’s determination to break out of jail.

“You old man, the Lord County Magistrate invites you!”

Zhuge Weiwei was not afraid at all, and instead asked curiously,

“Has the State Preceptor sent soone to pick up?”

“You wish it was that easy. Do you think that if the State Preceptor sends soone to get you, you’ll be out of trouble? Unless you reveal the nas and hiding places of the Futang Group, you won’t escape torture three tis a day. And right now, you still owe our lord one session.”

The constable said hatefully.

“Hahaha! Your County Magistrate is indeed eager to achieve rits. Even at this hour, you do not forget to pry open my mouth. Well then, I will accompany you on this trip.”

Zhuge Weiwei was already numb from the beatings, showing no fear of the imminent torture, even taking it as if it were a treat. But he struggled for a long ti and still couldn’t get up, so he ordered the constable,

“Are you blind? Can’t you see that I can’t get up?”

“Tsk! You’re still acting tough at this ti? I wonder how long you old man can keep up your tough act. Our State Preceptor is much more ruthless than the Lord County Magistrate. He has plenty of ans to deal with you. You will regret not revealing the secrets of the Futang Group here once you fall into the hands of the State Preceptor. You two, help him up!”

“Yes!”

The constable unlocked the cell door, and two junior jailers ca in to support Zhuge Weiwei. Li Ping’an, making a final effort, approached the constable and began to fawn,

“My lord, please let out. If you release , I will surely reward you handsoly.”

“Yeah, yeah. I’ve heard this kind of talk from you not just once or twice. My ears have callouses from hearing it.”

As the two junior jailers carried Zhuge Weiwei out, the constable, while locking the cell door, mocked,

“From the sound of it, your family seems quite wealthy. That’s all the more reason I can’t release you!”

“Why is that?”

Li Ping’an, puzzled, couldn’t understand why soone would refuse a thousand taels of gold, though he was just bluffing.

“If we let a wealthy man like you go, what if you spend money to get a high official to take revenge on us? Wouldn’t we all be screwed? Just await your death in peace. You’ll be on your way shortly!”

Before being taken away, Zhuge Weiwei looked at Li Ping’an with pity and said,

“Young friend, you are a good person, just fond of bragging. It’s unfortunate we can no longer hear your bluster. This is our last eting, alas. Such a young age, eighteen or nineteen, sigh!”

Li Ping’an could tell that Zhuge Weiwei had already written him off as a dead man, hence the sigh. However, Zhuge Weiwei had no idea of Li Ping’an’s capabilities!

“Elder, we will et again! That’s what I said!”

“Hahaha! Then we shall et on the Road to the Netherworld.”

“Enough, enough, stop talking nonsense. You’re all dead n, why argue about who goes first? Hurry up and move.”

The constable then escorted Zhuge Weiwei outside, leaving Li Ping’an alone in the cell.

“Damn Qi County Magistrate, you just wait for !”
