Black Myth: Starting from the Destined One Chapter 51 - 51 47 Its Coming
Chapter 51: Chapter 47 It’s Coming… Chapter 51: Chapter 47 It’s Coming… Wanyan ngwen heard Huang Yi’an’s words and could not object any further; the others stopped questioning Li Ping’an, knowing it was futile. Instead, they began to quietly complain about Wanyan ngwen and Huang Yi’an.
Despite assurances that everything would be handled well every day, and promises of a solution, as that thing drew nearer each night, they summoned Li Ping’an, a disorganized college student, and entrusted their fates to this impassive newcor from the Taoist sect—sothing that increasingly infuriated them.
Over these days, they had grown familiar with one another; it took only a glance to convey their thoughts, especially for the cunning businessn and the scheming politicians.
After exchanging looks, they signaled to each other that the mont that thing appeared and threatened to harm soone, they would imdiately run toward the Silver Dragon Hotel’s main entrance, letting the police and the sham Taoist leader, Li Ping’an, take the brunt!
Ti ticked by, second by second. The atmosphere here grew increasingly eerie, tense, and silent. No one dared to speak freely anymore; even breathing could no longer be heard. The only audible sound was the frantic beating of each other’s hearts.
Now, as the mont that thing usually ca to knock on the door drew closer, everyone stared fixedly at the banquet hall’s back door, their anxiety multiplied compared to before—breathing rapidly, hair standing on end, eyes wide, clutching their hearts, bodies trembling, imaginations running wild, each displaying their own anxious behavior.
Though they had not spoken for over ten minutes, it was as if they had a tacit agreent: they alternated glances between the ti and the banquet hall’s back door, from 11:59 until it reached 00:00.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The familiar, yet terrifying knocking sound rang out. Upon hearing this, everyone actually let out a long sigh of relief, as if liberated, and seed utterly relaxed.
“No troubles tonight! Hahaha!”
Everyone, including Huang Yi’an, burst into laughter, except for Wanyan ngwen.
“Cousin, how can you… still manage to laugh?”
Wanyan ngwen looked puzzled.
Huang Yi’an calmly explained,
“Girl, you haven’t been here before, so you don’t know the layout of Silver Dragon Tower. The banquet hall’s front door connects to the main hall and the main entrance of Silver Dragon Tower, while the back door connects to the guest rooms.”
“You just heard it, right? That thing has probably knocked on the last room on the first floor, which ans it’s not likely to co to the banquet hall to harm anyone tonight.”
“I see…”
With disappointnt in her eyes, Wanyan ngwen turned to look at Li Ping’an, who was still seriously forming seals, and regretfully said,
“So that ans we won’t be needing Li Ping’an tonight…”
“It’s better if we don’t need him, since he’s not really capable anyway.”
After Huang Yi’an spoke, the others, arrogant and triumphant, chid in:
“Exactly, exactly…”
Wanyan ngwen gave an embarrassed smile and asked a question that left everyone speechless:
“If we manage to avoid it today, what will we do tomorrow?”
“This…”
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Just as Wanyan ngwen finished speaking, the banquet hall’s back door was suddenly knocked, its sound piercing through the quiet, empty hall.
“It’s over!”
The very people who were just arrogantly dismissive of Li Ping’an were instantly frightened, clenching their fists tightly, backs drenched in cold sweat, their faces showing panic and terror.
At this mont, everyone’s heart seed ready to leap out of their throats.
First presumption, then reverence, such a farce is truly laughable!
Thump! Thump! Thump!
The sound of that thing knocking on the door grew more and more urgent, louder and faster, eventually becoming incessant.
Thump thump thump, thump thump thump, thump thump thump…
This was no longer knocking; it was smashing at the door non-stop!
Each knock, incredibly shrill and terrifying, like a harbinger of doom, sent shivers through everyone’s nerves, their bodies trembling in sync with each thud.
“Li Ping’an, can you really do this or not…”
Once again, all eyes turned hopefully toward Li Ping’an who was seated on the ground forming seals, but to their utter disappointnt, the young man remained seated, indifferent, completely absorbed in his world.
“Officer Huang, save us, please! Or at least let us leave this place!”
Despair began to surge within their hearts, spreading gradually…
Most people shivered uncontrollably in fear, so even thought of backing away, yet the knocking sound held a bewitching power, inexplicably urging them to move towards the back door of the banquet hall.
The knocking sound, initially distant, eventually seed to echo right by their ears, seemingly no different from the knocking they had heard the day before.
But the very next mont, with a click, they all gasped in shock as the back door of the banquet hall suddenly moved on its own.
Initially, they thought it was an illusion, but in the utterly silent mont that followed, the door handle of that back door began to turn, visibly to the naked eye.
“Does it not find any other targets to harm and wants to co in here?”
All present were already scared into silence, guessing non-stop in their minds.
Huang Yi’an, as the person in charge here, was the most nervous, not because he was afraid of dying, but because he had earlier predicted that the thing would knock from the top floor’s guest rooms of Silver Dragon Tower down to the first floor, and once all the guest rooms were knocked upon, it would inevitably co to the back door of the banquet hall, which was closest to the first-floor guest rooms.
However, he never imagined that this day would co so suddenly, so urgently, tonight!
Those with less courage were so frightened they stood shaking in place, praying; among them, so won knelt on the ground, heads bowed, weeping, so were paralyzed by fear, static, while others clung to the main door of the banquet hall, holding their hearts.
Seeing that the back door was about to be opened, Huang Yi’an knew that the thing was about to co out and harm people, and as the person in charge, he knew he had to do sothing!
Thump thump thump!
With another round of thumping sounds, the devilish knocking seed to reverberate in everyone’s mind, their bodies uncontrollably moving towards the back door of the banquet hall that was about to open.
“Cousin, it looks like Li Ping’an won’t be of any help, we can only rely on ourselves now!”
Wanyan ngwen drew her gun decisively and headed for the main door of the banquet hall.
“All officers, load your guns, we as police must protect the public, all officers should stand at the forefront, our mont of truth has arrived!”
Although Huang Yi’an knew it wasn’t likely to help, there was nothing else to be done at that mont but to face the thing head-on!
The ten police officers at the scene rushed in front of the crowd and lined up, guns raised, moving purposefully toward the back door of the banquet hall.
“We’re finished! We’re all going to be finished! It’s going to kill all of us!”
The protected civilians moved forward involuntarily while crying out for their parents and the gods, only now realizing that the thing’s thod of harming people wasn’t by knocking on the door to deceive and kill them, but that as soon as they heard the highly tempting knocking sounds, they would involuntarily seek out the thing.
So, those who had died before were killed in this manner, aning hiding here was waiting for death!
