Natsu and the others who had rushed over saw Drake blast Precht away.
That ant the war between demons and fairies was over, and it also ant the second exam was over.
Soon everyone returned to the camp, and Makarov announced the exam results with a relieved expression.
But Drake could sense that Makarov’s aura had beco much lower. Precht was different to him.
Makarov stood on a platform made of wooden boxes, announcing, "This year’s S-class promotion exam has ended. Two people have successfully passed the exam: Cana Alberona... and Drake Dragneel!"
Natsu pounded the ground in frustration, but the others didn’t react as dramatically, instead congratulating the two.
Cana’s reaction was calr than expected; on the contrary, Lucy hugged Cana, looking overjoyed.
Becoming an S-class mage and then being recognized by her father, Gildarts, had been Cana’s obsession, but now she understood what was most important.
Drake stroked his chin, wondering if he should go and watch Cana and Gildarts’s reunion later. Gildarts’s reaction would definitely be interesting.
Suddenly, Drake sensed a familiar magic power approaching Tenrou Island. Turning his head, he saw a yellow lightning flash across the sky.
"That’s...!"
Drake instinctively looked at Makarov, seeing an unhappy expression on his face.
Because it was dayti, only Drake and Makarov noticed the abnormality, and only the two of them headed towards where the lightning had struck.
If Drake rembered correctly, Laxus had also co to Tenrou Island at this ti. In the original story, he had even helped Natsu activate the Lightning Fla Dragon Mode to defeat Precht.
That lightning was indeed Laxus’s magic.
But for Makarov, although he missed his grandson, whom he had personally expelled from the guild, Laxus was no longer a mber of the guild and wasn’t qualified to co to the guild’s sacred ground.
The two quickly arrived at the beach, only to see Laxus sprawled on the sand in a disheveled state. His cloak was tattered, as if he had been through a fierce battle.
Makarov, unable to worry about scolding Laxus for intruding on the sacred ground, quickly ran over and helped him up.
"Hey! Laxus, pull yourself together!"
Drake also went over, pouring a bottle of potion into his mouth.
Fairy Tail version of a recovery potion. Drake didn’t have the [Alchemy] developnt ability, but he could make so potions with [Mystery].
Of course, both the taste and effectiveness were much worse than the potions made by that [Battlefield Valkyrie], but they were still sowhat useful.
Perhaps he had choked, but Laxus coughed and woke up.
"Laxus, what happened?" Makarov quickly asked.
Laxus seed to rember sothing, grabbing Makarov’s hand tightly.
"Old man, run! No, it’s too late now; it’s already coming!"
Makarov knew Laxus better than anyone; he had always been fearless. This was the first ti Makarov had seen him look so terrified.
Drake also frowned, guessing what Laxus had encountered.
Laxus said, "I encountered a black dragon on the way; it was too terrifying!
I tried to stop it, but it didn’t even pay attention to . It just swiped its claws and sent
flying! And it’s heading this way; everyone has to leave imdiately!"
As expected! After hearing Laxus’s words, Drake confird his guess. Acnologia had co after all!
However, in Drake’s mory, Acnologia had co to Tenrou Island so ti after the battle with Grimoire Heart ended.
Laxus’s lightning magic was fast for travel, and he must have used all his strength to arrive before Acnologia. But with Acnologia’s flight speed, he would probably arrive soon.
Drake had originally planned to have everyone leave as soon as possible to avoid Acnologia, but now it seed they were destined to encounter that black dragon.
Makarov had heard about the black dragon from Gildarts, so he imdiately understood how critical the situation was.
"That’s right, we have to leave imdiately!"
Drake sighed, looking at the horizon, saying, "No, it’s too late!"
With that, Drake spread his fiery wings.
Makarov shouted, "Drake, what are you going to do?"
Drake replied, "There’s no way to escape now, Guild Master. You go and prepare everyone. I’ll go take a look at what that black dragon is like! Don’t worry, I won’t be reckless!"
Saying this, Drake ignored Makarov’s obstruction and flew directly towards the direction of the ominous aura.
Before he could even see the black dragon, Drake felt a sense of oppression.
To describe that feeling, it was as if a black line had appeared on the horizon, and the sky on the other side of the black line was completely covered in darkness, and that black line was constantly approaching.
Drake didn’t have any other emotions in his mind at this ti, only the image of Igneel having half his body destroyed and then falling from the sky in the original story.
Soon, Drake saw the enormous being flying over.
Jet-black scales, eerie patterns, and most importantly, the vast and ominous magic power that was like the sky falling.
Perhaps it had seen Drake, Acnologia stopped, its eyes, which showed no emotion, locked onto Drake.
Drake also stopped, looking at Acnologia, saying, "That’s strange. I don’t feel any fear being so close to you.
Don’t you want to say sothing? Well, in your eyes, I’m as insignificant as an ant, so there’s no value in communicating, right! Then how about this?"
With that, Drake covered his hands with his unique spirit armor, and Fal appeared behind him, then turned into flowing flas, rging into Drake’s body.
At the sa ti, he activated Spirit Assimilation and Kirin Power. The aura around Drake surged many tis over, and even the sea was scorched into a large pit by the flas on Drake’s body.
Facing the erupting Drake, Acnologia opened its mouth, and intermittent sounds ca from within.
"You are... a dragon slayer!"
Acnologia had originally been human, so he naturally had the ability to communicate.
The reason why he had acted like an irrational beast in the early part of the original story was simply because he didn’t see anyone who could communicate with him as an equal.
And Drake, having brought out all his power, was no longer an existence that Acnologia could ignore.
But after saying only one sentence, Acnologia directly swiped its claws.
"Although I didn’t expect to communicate with you, I knew we would have to fight!"
Drake turned into a streak of fire, dodging Acnologia’s claws, directly arriving before Acnologia.
"I’ve wanted to do this for a long ti! Fire Dragon’s Iron Fist!"
The flas on Drake’s body had never been so intense, and the power of this punch was also unprecedented.
The fist struck Acnologia’s head, actually creating a fist impression, and Acnologia slid sideways.
