Drake looked at Ultear, saying, "I was a little uneasy having you do the dangerous work of gathering information, but then I rembered your abilities and felt relieved.

Anyway, thanks for your hard work, and thank you!"

Ultear smiled, replying, "You’ve beco quite the smooth talker since I last saw you.

But I thought you’d change your plans after getting the news and stay away from Tenrou Island. I didn’t expect you to co anyway."

Drake said, "To quote Guild Master Makarov, Grimoire Heart chose the wrong opponent when they declared war on Fairy Tail."

Ultear said, "It seems I worried needlessly!"

Having followed Precht since childhood, Ultear knew how strong he was. The Seven Kin of Purgatory all mastered Lost Magic, which Precht Gaebolg (Hades) had taught them.

In the past, Ultear had considered Precht invincible. So even though she never had any loyalty to Precht, she never thought about leaving Grimoire Heart.

But for so reason, after hearing Drake’s words, Ultear felt he could truly defeat Precht.

Drake paused, then asked, "We’ll definitely defeat Grimoire Heart, but what do you plan to do afterward? Are you considering joining Fairy Tail?"

Ultear smiled and shook her head, saying, "If I joined a formal guild, there’d be a lot of trouble, right?"

Drake was taken aback, then realized she was right.

The newly reorganized Magic Council’s top priority was to re-establish its authority. So it was being very proactive and forceful in many areas.

They even saw Fairy Tail as an unstable elent and wanted to find a reason to "crush" it.

It went without saying what their attitude was towards Ultear, the main culprit in disrupting the Council.

If Ultear joined Fairy Tail, the Council might directly turn hostile.

That was why Erza had agreed to the Council taking Jellal away.

Ultear looked at Drake, saying, "Besides, I want to take a good look at the scenery I’ve ignored until now. Most importantly, I need to atone for the mistakes I’ve made!"

Drake nodded, replying, "It’s good that you have a plan. You can contact

if you encounter any difficulties. We’re comrades now!"

Ultear chuckled, but the young woman beside her looked at Drake with a pout and a wary expression.

Drake was confused; he was eting redy, one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, for the first ti, so why was she so hostile?

Just as he was about to say sothing, Drake’s expression suddenly changed.

Turning his head, Drake looked to the side. In that area of the sky, a large number of birds were flying up as if startled by sothing.

But Drake saw so of the slower birds simply falling from the sky.

"As expected... magic as deep as the abyss!" Drake muttered.

Just now, Drake had sensed an incredibly terrifying magic, even he felt a sense of dread.

The magic wasn’t just imnse; it gave Drake a sense of oppression from a higher level. Just sensing that magic made Drake feel like he was in an abyss, overwheld by an ominous presence.

With such magic appearing on Tenrou Island, Drake could only think of one possibility.

Zeref had appeared!

No wonder Precht believed the source of magic was the dark abyss, Zeref. If they sensed such power, many would probably have the sa thought.

Precht was nearby and wouldn’t leave, so Drake was more worried about Zeref. Although Makarov had warned everyone, Drake was still worried that soone reckless would approach Zeref.

"It seems Grimoire Heart’s target has appeared. I’ll go take a look first!"

With that, Drake spread his fire dragon wings and flew towards the direction of Zeref’s magic, with Fal quickly following.

As he flew towards Zeref’s location, Drake started to think.

Even though Zeref had lived for countless years, his magic shouldn’t have such an oppressive effect on his own magic.

He was a dragon slayer, so his magic quality was top-notch. Was that magic really Zeref’s?

Drake suspected that the magic was the curse from the god Ankhseram that Zeref carried.

But having borne the curse for four hundred years, it was likely that it had beco part of Zeref’s power.

In this world, god slayer magic existed. According to the principles of slayer magic, it should be magic that drives the power of gods.

But neither fire god slayer magic nor the later sky god slayer magic and lightning god slayer magic seed to qualify as god power in Drake’s eyes.

Only the curse on Zeref was truly from a god of this world.

Drake didn’t know what kind of beings the gods of this world were, but the god Ankhseram had shown the power to control the laws of life and death.

If Drake wanted to revive Igneel, he would have to pass through the domain of this god.

So, after resolving to co to Tenrou Island, Drake had decided to see the Black Wizard with his own eyes.

Soon, Drake saw a man in simple clothing, walking unsteadily through the forest with a pale face.

Then, Drake saw Elfman and Evergreen appear on Zeref’s path!

What luck these two had! They were the ones who encountered Zeref in the original story, weren’t they? If Natsu hadn’t appeared in ti, they would have died cluelessly under Zeref’s death magic.

He hadn’t expected them to encounter Zeref again this ti. And looking at Zeref’s current state, his death magic could activate at any ti.

Drake quickly sped up, landing in front of Elfman and Evergreen, who were searching for prey.

"Drake, what are you doing here?" Elfman asked in confusion.

"Did you find a target? Well, as a man, I won’t let you have it!"

Drake’s expression was serious as he said, "What’s coming isn’t prey, but a monster that can devour all of us!"

With that, Drake grabbed their arms and quickly retreated. Even Fal in the sky stopped flapping his wings.

A black aura spread out, withering and killing everything from thick trees to thin grass in the blink of an eye.

Evergreen opened her mouth wide, saying in surprise, "What... is that?"

Drake said, "It’s sothing very dangerous, anyway. You guys leave first! The exam isn’t over yet; go find your prey!"

Elfman pulled Evergreen up and turned to run.

Evergreen asked in confusion, "Shouldn’t we stay and help Drake?"

Although Evergreen had been active in the Thunder God Tribe, she knew Elfman well and knew he wasn’t the kind of person who would abandon his comrades, which was why she asked.

Elfman simply said, "Drake is a real man; he’ll be fine!"

Drake didn’t know how much Elfman trusted him; all his attention was on the approaching person.

"It’s been a while, Black Wizard Zeref!"
