Shangguan Ning heard the clapping sound behind her back, followed by a familiar yet detesting calm voice. “Beauty is very smart. You knew it was ! Sigh, I like you more and more each day, so much that I want to marry you!”
Without turning around, Shangguan Ning recognised him. Shangguan Ning had never expected that Shangguan Zheng would beco so crazy that he will sell her to Jing Yiran in such an open way!
Furious, she felt bitterness and grief invading her entire body, making her wobble.
Tigers don’t usually eat their babies, but Shangguan Zheng was worse than a tiger.
Shangguan Ning forced her tears back and said in a hoarse voice. “Father, do you have any feelings towards
at all? Even if you never loved , I am your daughter after all! Did you even stop and think for a second before deciding to hand
over to this monster and to live a suffering life? Don’t you feel any guilt? What is your purpose of living? Just to beco an officer? What is your purpose of becoming an officer? Just to sell your daughter again and again?”
Shangguan Zheng was already feeling unsure about what he was doing today. He got embarrassed and furious upon listening to the truth in Shangguan Ning’s words.
He scolded her. “Don’t speak nonsense. I am doing this for your sake. You have nothing to worry about after marrying Second Master. You will get anything you want. Just stop talking, I have decided to give you to Second Master, and you belong to him now!”
After being used and sold again and again, Shangguan Ning had completely lost her trust in Shangguan Zheng. She knew now that she should not have co here toda. She would never co back to him no matter what happened to Shangguan Zheng in the future!

Shangguan Ning cald down, and looked at him with cold eyes, making Shangguan Zheng feel wary.
Jing Yiran ca to her side so as to take a better look at her. She had been cheated and sold by the closest person to her but she regained her composure quickly. She was already trying to get the best for herself in the disadvantaged situation.
She was just like a weed that didn’t bend or surrender in the rain, one that didn’t give up despite the storm and still stood up to fight.
Jing Yiran was curious. Did she get her personality from birth or did she cultivate it herself after she grew up?
She looked like a spoiled lady, slender and weak. But she was indeed stubborn!
This woman was so pitiful that this heartless Second Master seed to feel sothing inside his heart.
Shangguan Zheng had no idea what Shangguan Ning wanted to ask. He just wanted to get rid of her as soon as possible so that she could get the marriage certificate with Jing Yiran and he could keep his position as the Mayor. So he said instantly, “Go on!”
Shangguan Ning stared at Shangguan Zheng’s eyes firmly and clearly asked, “Did you kill my mother?”
Shangguan Zheng lost his composure upon hearing her question. His face instantly turned white like a piece of paper.
He said in panic, “No! That had nothing to do with . She killed herself. It was a suicide! Didn’t you see that yourself?”
Shangguan Ning took in his anxious expression and her heart beca so cold as if it had been soaked in ice. She said ruthlessly, “It better be the truth! Because if you did, I will take revenge for my mother. You will all die!”
After she finished her words, she turned to look at Jing Yiran and said calmly, “Okay, now it is your turn. What do you want? What can you give
in return?”
Jing Yiran was becoming increasingly interested in this woman. It felt as if that gentle woman he t every day had not been her.
She could be so cold in her bones, just like a powerful killer who converted herself into a hunter within a second, intimidating and scary!
Her short golden brown hair reflected beautifully against the sunshine. The tip of the hair was slightly curled against her face, creating a perfect arch. Her long eyelashes added to her features making them look exquisite.
Her red lips were slightly opened, and her voice was crisp, making her look elegant and glamorous, so that people couldn’t help but beco fascinated.
Jing Yiran felt his heart beating fast and loud as if it would pop out of his chest any second.
His words ca out in the gentlest possible tone, one which he didn’t know that he possessed. “Will you give
anything I want?”
Shangguan Ning looked proud standing there. In an emotionless voice, she said, “It depends on whether or not you can afford the price.”
“I want you, na your price!”
“Okay!” Shangguan Ning still wore a cold look. “I want your mother’s life!”
Her words made Jing Yiran’s calmness disappear. Imdiately, he sounded dangerous. “What has this got to do with her?”
“So you know that she is not related to this matter. Then why am I involved when you cut a deal with Shangguan Zheng and Shangguan Rouxue?” Shangguan Ning burst into a mirthless laugh.
She was so annoyed with Shangguan Zheng that she even refused to address him as “father” and called him by his na.
“So you can’t do it? My life is not worth your mother’s life? Then what other valuable things do you have? You have nothing to offer and you still ask
for a price. You are just a paper tiger!”
Shangguan Ning mocked him. She was already in a terrible mood to have been tricked into coming here. On top of that, Jing Yiran had caused her trouble repeatedly and he made her extrely disgusted. She did not hold back her words.
Jing Yiran was only furious for a second but soon his standard sinister smile was back on his face. “Yes, I do have what you want. But it is not my mother’s life. It is your mother’s life!”
Shangguan Ning froze. She said angrily, “What did you say?”
“I have your mother’s legacy, and I have her other things too. Haven’t you always wanted to know how your mother died? I don’t think that anybody in this world would know more about your mother than I do. Marry , and I will tell you everything!”
