Poison Gas Swamp.
In just under a year, this place had undergone earth-shattering transformations.
When Shawn returned to the original Land of Trial, he found it had almost turned into a lush Amazon Rainforest. Verdant, low shrubs covered the earth beneath his feet, the original plains had completely vanished, and even the weeds by the roadside had grown over two ters high.
"The power of Ancient Dark Prosperity has already started to accelerate."
Shawn’s teleportation point was the ’Bronze Fortress’, which was the Abyss Outpost Aemon built in the Poison Gas Swamp.
Although he intended to leave this world via the gate and head to Mark City, his plans to attack the Poison Gas Swamp had never stopped. The Bronze Fortress was constructed in just over half a year, surrounded by more than twenty-ter-high walls, directly cast with molten copper. Inside was a standard Bottomless Abyss war fortress, borrowing the architectural style of the Devils. The entire war fortress was imbued with magic power, making it invulnerable, even the Dragon Breath spray of a Giant Dragon might not be able to shake it.
A Demon Legion of 120 troops was stationed here, led by a powerful Six-ard Snake Demon leader.
"Master Shawn!"
The leader of the Six-ard Snake Demons was nad Ishbel, a Transcendent from the real world, supposedly once hunted by Demon Hunters for exterminating entire families. She fled all the way to Abyss City, and no one knows her past, only that she is a ruthless character. She has been clearing out the Ancient Race in the Poison Gas Swamp during this period.
She was Aemon’s right hand, although not the strongest demon leader, she was a Transcendent of the Sword Saint path.
This Six-ard Snake Demon Sword Saint was one of Aemon’s trump cards, a masterpiece he cultivated to deal with Transcendents of the Ancient Lineage. It is said she once massacred over a hundred highly mutated Ancient Race mbers by herself, having many illustrious achievents and a formidable reputation in Abyss City.
She was also soone Aemon specifically instructed Shawn to win over in order to establish a foothold in Abyss City.
Shawn nodded slightly, conveyed Aemon’s orders, and said slowly: "The Abyssal Legion will launch an attack within half a year. This is the next step of the plan entrusted to you by the City Lord."
Though Aemon had entrusted his true na to Shawn, he still habitually referred to the Naless as Aemon, a matter unknown to others in Abyss City for the ti being.
Everything Aemon did had profound significance behind it; he would not hand over his true na for no reason.
Sothing is certainly about to happen.
Outside the Bronze Fortress.
Shawn’s figure hovered in mid-air, looking at the lush swamp jungle beneath him. The past scenery was long gone, the swamp Lizardman settlents had already disappeared completely, the swamp was filled in, and even the foundations had been reinforced with Mud into Stone. Around the periter of the Bronze Fortress was a circle of wooden stakes, through which dozens of crocodile-headed mutated creatures were impaled, hunted Ancient Race by the Demons. At the gate, there was a mound ford by hundreds of piled heads.
"Ancient Dark Prosperity should be entering the Second Stage soon."
Shawn’s figure landed near the original Eye Demon Nest. There were no shrub forests here, but the weeds had grown over three ters tall, with very thick roots. A thorny plant once planted by the Stone-blind Barbarians had grown five to six ters long, resembling a mass of tangled cactus with black fruits. When peeled open, they looked sowhat like white water chestnut flesh, slightly sweet.
He had felt nothing staying in Abyss City for so long; only after venturing out did he realize how profoundly ’Ancient Dark Prosperity’ had impacted the entire world.
These inconspicuous weeds had seed to have grown for over ten years.
"Eh?"
Seeming to have discovered sothing, Shawn suddenly used the Invisible Hand to part the thorns in front of him, finding a large missing patch of the thicket, approximately twelve ters in diater.
"Activated Plants? Did they move on their own?"
The life force of Dark Prosperity activated so of the plants, and the nearby thickets seed to possess a peculiar life force. Shawn estimated the area; if they were truly activated plants, it should be quite a large entity.
Inside the original Eye Demon Cave, pale purple hallucinogenic mushrooms had grown all over.
Upon landing, Shawn observed the surrounding changes and flew towards the lake where the Lake Fairy Sisters resided.
The area of the Dark Forest had expanded further, yet no Ravenn were in sight. Instead, there were more diverse creatures, particularly the swarming bees occupying the outskirts. These were yellowjacket-mutated Magic Beasts, fist-sized with venomous stingers, existing as collective consciousness entities.
Within the forest were mutated creatures Shawn had never seen before. In a world without reproductive isolation, all sorts of naless creations existed, but due to genetic defects, they found it difficult to propagate further. The only unchanging feature was the roaming Moving Cabin in the Woods.
However, it had also grown larger.
The roof of the cabin had sprouted a lush tree canopy, abundant with foliage. From a distance, it appeared to be a mobile treehouse.
Shawn even spotted signs of human activity, as the windows of the cabin were open!
"What happened?"
"Did soone move in?"
Shawn decided to first ask the Lake Fairy Sisters. The cabin was too enigmatic; even he couldn’t guarantee a victory against it at present.
