Gauss is an Eye Demon.
Strictly speaking, it is a recently advanced Lesser Eye Demon, because like Shawn, it too is a reincarnated soul entering the Otherworld within the Bizarre Realm.
Gauss cos from an extrely distant world, a place called the Gray Eagle Realm. Gauss is just the common language pronunciation of its na, and at the ti, all the Lesser Eye Demons born in the sa batch were called Gauss Eye Demons. Since many nas of the Eye Demons consist of strange and incomplete syllables, the outside world customarily uses the common language for transliteration. In this peculiar place called the Bizarre Realm, Gauss was surprised to find that the common language used here was similar, suggesting that so of the civilization’s heritage cos from the Forgotten Realm.
In its previous life, Gauss was formidable; at that ti, it was a true Eye Demon, ruling a vast underground region, having its own Eye Demon Nest, commanding a large number of slaves, and being served by over a dozen lesser Eye Demon subspecies.
The struggle in its previous life could be described as a history of a small figure’s rise because it initially was a companion Lesser Eye Demon subspecies—Gauss Eye Demon, and only after repeatedly receiving gifts from the Lady of the House did it undergo transformation and advancent to beco a truly powerful Eye Demon. But unfortunately, the Gray Eagle Realm was a place sward with High Tier adventurers, and Gauss hadn’t yet had the chance to start its ambitious path to becoming an Underground Lord before being chopped into pieces by a Priest carrying a bit of divine grace and a group of adventurers who suddenly barged in.
They were searching for a Divine Artifact called the ’Ebony Magic Mirror,’ said to be used for observing another distant Cosmos.
After Gauss’s death, it originally thought it would enter the Divine Kingdom of the Eye Demon Lady of the House, as it was a devout and diligent Eye Demon.
But sadly, things did not go as hoped; when Gauss woke up, not only had it not entered the Divine Kingdom of the Eye Demon Lady of the House, but it was sent to a ghost place called the Bizarre Realm. After dying and coming back to life, even its Race was not the great Eye Demon anymore but a weak human subspecies.
That period was the darkest ti in Gauss’s life, not only because it had not adapted to the human subspecies’ body, but it also couldn’t compete with the strong parents and uncles for daily food, almost starving to death within the tribe.
The stone-blind barbarians would eliminate the weakest tribe mbers; unable to obtain food ant starvation, and the more it starved, the less it could get food.
But fortunately, Gauss did not despair; it continued to pray to the Eye Demon Lady of the House fervently. It hated its current human body because it was extrely stupid, ugly, and sluggish. For it, accustod to the strong inherent Basic Attributes of the Eye Demon, the stone-blind barbarian’s brain was as stupid as a pig, and its Perception was even slower than an Ogre’s. Luckily, heaven leaves no path unwalked; suddenly one day, an ancient indescribable existence called the ’Twin Demon Eye’ responded to Gauss’s prayers and granted it a thread of the Extraordinary Essence of the Eye Demon path.
After obtaining all this, Gauss was ecstatic, eager to perform the transformation ritual. It abandoned its original human subspecies body, retaining only the head portion, and then let the Demon Eye parasitize its brain, starting to restructure the whole brain finally giving birth to a Lesser Eye Demon subspecies—Gauss Eye Demon.
Gauss again transford into an Eye Demon; though it was just a Lesser Eye Demon, it was confident in further advancing through its own power, perhaps even becoming a powerful Eye Demon Grand Elder in the future.
Because here is the Origin Universe of the anomaly.
The Bizarre Realm is more chaotic than the Gray Eagle Realm, and chaos ans endless opportunities.
The Extraordinary Essence of this world is plundered and stolen, which is all too familiar to Gauss; in its past life, it established its underground nest by relying on plundering and exploitation. Even for it, eting the conditions to ascend in the Bizarre Realm was much easier than receiving divine grace from the Eye Demon Lady of the House in the Gray Eagle Realm.
Moreover, the Bizarre Realm is a Material Plane dominated by monsters, with humans forced to hide in other layers, so it no longer has to worry about constantly being besieged by high-tier adventurers.
If it were in the Gray Eagle Realm, humans there were ferocious, and mbers of the Eight Leaves were especially formidable; especially that guy called Demon Duncan—all related to him were not easy to deal with.
Ideals are beautiful, but reality is cruel.
Unfortunately, Eye Demon Gauss’s plans encountered a major challenge just as they began because it got one of its auxiliary eyes damaged.
The Bizarre Realm is full of dangers; to scare away potential enemies, Gauss would cast the Giant Transformation Technique on itself, disguising itself from a Lesser Eye Demon subspecies into a real Eye Demon. (With one at Challenge Level 6 and one at Challenge Level 13.)
The plan is undoubtedly successful, whether ghosts, night hags, banshees, or other bizarre creatures—all would not easily provoke a powerful Eye Demon.
But regrettably, sothing unexpected happened today; while Gauss routinely dispatched its anomalous eye to patrol the territory—a special talent as an ’Otherworldly Soul’ allowing it to separate its auxiliary eye from its body for patrol, unexpectedly, a damned fellow blew its eyeball out with a shot.
This opponent was also an Otherworldly Soul.
Like Eye Demon Gauss, they were unique existences within the Bizarre Realm. Once realizing the opponent’s comparatively weak power, Eye Demon Gauss’s heart was instantly enveloped by greed.
