"In the said year, I will be by your side, Ms. Hamilton." Brent said with a reassuring smile.
"What?!" Joseph looked at Brent with cold nacing eyes. "And why would you be by Yvy’s side?"
"Since Ms. Hamilton is still relatively young to handle such a massive company, I have been nad by the late Mr. Hamilton as her legal counsel and guardian." Brent stood his ground with Joseph’s intense aura. "I am going to work on Ms. Hamilton’s best interest."
"And do you think I will swindle Yvy from her shares of the company?!" Joseph snapped. He pulled Brent’s collar and looked like he was picking a fight.
"I never said anything like that." Brent maintained his cool.
"Stop it, Joseph." Mr. Smith stood up to break the two of them. "If that is what your late father wills, then let it be. We all know that you care for Yvette like a sister. You do not need to prove anything."
"I am just here as the late Mr. Hamilton’s request, Mr. Joseph." Brent explained. "I do not have to explain to you in detail what your late father has planned and why he has looking over Ms. Hamilton. Whatever you are thinking right now, that is what you yourself is imagining the situation. Then I will dare ask this, do you really care for Ms. Yvette just as sister, or is there sothing more?"
Brent’s words ticked Joseph off and threw a punch and hit him in the face. Blood trickles out from Brent’s lips.
"M-Mr. Dawson?!" I was startled. This is the first ti I saw Joseph be aggresive to anyone. He was clearly agitated.
"Heh, rember you started this." Brent’s eyes was filled with agitation. He also threw a punch towards Joseph.
The two was now brawling inside the eting room. The Mr. Smith and Mr. Jenkins wete trying to stop the two.
"Hey..." Ms. Alice scolded. "Stop this you two! You are not highschool boys anymore that has to talk with their fists!"
But the two n was still throwing punches at each other. So hit while so miss.
"Quick! Call the security!" Dianne scread.
I was in shock that I was petrified in place. When I ca to my senses, I also thought of stopping the two from fighting.
"Stop this!" I scread. "You shouldn’t fight like this in here."
I was about to join the fray when I felt a bout of vertigo. Everything around started to spin around. I felt my vision blur and my consciousness started to fade.
"Yvette!" I heard Joseph’s voice call out to in concern.
"Ms. Yvette!" Bren’t voice also called out to .
"Yvette?!" Ms. Alice’s voice was the one most neat , full of concern.
After that I have blacked out.

"How is she doing , doctor?" Joseph had called in a doctor imdiately when Yvette collapsed.
"The miss is running a high fever." The doctor replied. "She must have been to a stressful experience for her temperature to sky rocket. For now I have her on a drip to bring down the fever. Once she has stabilized, you can take her ho to rest. I will prescribe her so dication to treat her fever."
The doctor wrote his prescription in a piece of paper and handed it over. Joseph and Brent was about the take the prescription at the sa ti. They stared at each other and tension started to escalte kn the room once more.
"I would like to remind you that as of today, I am Ms. Yvette’s legal guardian." Brent took the prescription from the doctor’s outstretched hand.
"And let also remind you that I am still Yvette’s adopted brother." Joseph snatched the prescription from Brent’s hand. "We still live under the sa roof, and it is just right for to be the one to take care of her."
"Ahh..." The doctor beca flustered seeing his prescription being taken forcibly by the two n. "Please be gentle or the paper will tear."
"Your late father has already dealt with her lodgings as well." Brent inford. "He had bought an estate just outside the city and is a gift to her for her twenty first birthday. She can move there whenever she wishes."
Joseph was surprised to hear that his father had already planned such a thing. He never realized that his father would separate Yvette from him.
"The house was ant to be for the two of you if ever Yvette had accepted the terms of the marriage..." Brent said. "But since she did not accept it, she will be the sole owner of the estate."
Joseph started to feel regret. It was a feeling he did not know the cause.
"Well that will have to wait until Yvette wakes up." Joseph stood his ground and held the ores prescription in his hand tightly.
"Knock it off, you two!" Ms. Alice who was with them in the room all along snatched the prescription from Joseph’s hand. "I will be the one buying this if you two do not get your sh*t together!" She scolded.
"Uumm..." The docotor interjected. "Please minimize the stress of the patient. It would not be good for her recovery if her environnt is like this."
"You hear that?!" Ms. Alice scolded. "Since the two of you are odds with each other then I will be the one calling the shots for Yvette until she wakes up."
The two n seed embarrassed after being scolded. Brent scratched his head whole Joseph averted his eyes and looked away.
"Since Yvette is still unconscious, let us move her back ho where she is comfortable once her fever breaks." Ms. Alice said. Joseph’s face bead hearing this. "When she has recovered, that will be the ti that we ask her what she wants. I know that this day had been stressful not only to her but to all of us. It would be best for us to go ho and rest."
"Yes, you are right, Ms. Alice." Brent said. "I would also like to apologize showing that kind of behavoir a while ago. I did not an to lose my temper."
Ms. Alice looked at Joseph, also waiting to hear an apology. Joseph was a bit reluctant but Ms. Alice had stared daggers at him snd he eventually caved in.
"I am also sorry for my behavior." Joseph said. "I-I am just overprotective when it is about Yvy."
"Now shake hands you too." Ms. Alice said. "The two of you will he working together and will be around Yvette mostly. I do not want my little munchkin to be stressed out because of the two of you."
The two n were reluctant at first but then shook hands eventually. Their grip were a little bit tight for a normal handshake, but the onlookers were fooled that they have made up. A rivalry started at that very mont between this two n.
The other board mbers had gone ho a while ago and Ms. Alice and Brent were also going their way after everything started to settle down.
"I will be visiting Ms. Yvette tomorrow." Brent inford Joseph. "For now, please take good care of her."
"There is no need to tell that." Joseph replied a little harshly. "I always have taken care of my sister."
"Well that will change once she wakes up." Brent replied with the equal harshness.
"Now you two..." Ms. Alice intervened. "I will be off now as well. Take care of Yvs for , okay." She asked Joseph.
"Of course, aunty." Joseph replied calmly. "Take care on your way."
When all the visitors had gone, Joseph went in the venue. Gregory, his personal assistant was still on standby.
"Please have the driver be on standby and ready." Joseph said. "Once Yvy’s fever breaks, I would like to take her ho at once where she would be more comfortable."
"Yes, sir." Gregory replied promptly. "Is there anything else you want to add?" He asked.
"Also call the house. Tell them to make sure that Yvy’s room is fresh and clean. She needs to have a comfortable rest so that she could regain her health." Joseph replied. "And you can also go ho after. We all had a long day and need rest."
"Will do, sir." Gregory replied. "Thanks sir."
Joseph walked towards the room where Yvette was currently sleeping. His mind was already in a turmoil due to his father’s last will and testant and now his feelings were all in disarray in the pending moving out of Yvette.
Joseph ca inside the room and see Yvette sleeping soundly. He saw the IV pinned on her wrist. He was quite pained seeing as so blood had dripped out of the IV hose. He held her wrist carefully and slowly lifted it near his cheek. He can feel the warmth radiating from her hand to his face.
"You won’t really move out, will you Yvy?" Joseph murmured. "You won’t leave all alone, right? It is only the two of us now. It has always been the two of us."
Joseph can feel a slight pain in his heart just by thinking that Yvette would leave him. His emotions had now been stirred with today’s happenings.
*BANG*
The doors to the room opened wide and Dianne ca inside with a furious look.
"Joseph Hamilton!" Dianne called out loud.
Joseph sighed deeply and looked at his fiancée with an irritable look.
