In the quiet shadows of Ren’s world, the people who once lurked at its edges were moving into place.

Downtown Tokyo – Private Lounge

Naruse sipped an expensive drink, legs crossed, watching city lights burn into the night through the glass. His reflection glared back at him — perfect smile, crisp suit, and behind the eyes... calculation.

On the sleek table before him was an opened laptop. A paused fra showed Aoi walking into her office — the angle clearly from the building across the street. Behind her in the image: the faint glint of sothing small and silver on her neck.

"He finally gave her sothing," Naruse whispered, eyes narrowing. "So kind of tech. No doubt."

He leaned back and exhaled with an amused smirk.

"Then it’s ti to test what kind of armor love really builds."

He’d planted the decoy package already — an invitation Aoi would find at her office tomorrow. She wouldn’t know who sent it. But he was certain she’d show up.

And if Ren showed up too?

"Even better."

He pressed a button. A second monitor flickered to life — showing Saki, her pale face lit by a dozen screens in a darkened apartnt near Ren’s office building.

Elsewhere – Saki’s Apartnt

Saki hadn’t slept in days. Not since she learned about Ren’s AI project.

Her obsession had taken root in a new form — cold, clinical, focused.

Lucia.

"He built her... to protect Aoi," she whispered. "Of course he did..."

Her caras tracked cloud traffic. She had intercepted code fragnts through shady channels. Even with Ren’s fortress-like network, Saki was inside, barely clinging to the edges of the stream.

She zood in on a recent developnt log. A small diagram.

"Protective device. 3 cm x 2 cm... tal woven strands. Heartbeat monitor, pulse-sync...!"Her eyes widened."It’s a necklace."

Saki snapped up, brushing strands of ssy hair behind her ears. "He gave Aoi that necklace today... didn’t he?"

She stord over to a whiteboard covered in ssy plans, eyes bloodshot.

"I’ll tear it from her neck myself."

Countryside Workshop – That Sa Night

Ren stood beside the final prototype.

The necklace glead — a delicate, platinum finish that looked like a luxury accessory. In reality, it was woven with thousands of microscopic nanofibers that could deploy instantaneously.

A defensive shield. A pulse scanner. A distress beacon. And — unknown to Aoi — a location sync directly to Ren’s neural-linked console.

"Lucia, record this."He held the necklace in his palm like it was sacred."Project Kurobara: Final Prototype, for Aoi Hayasaka.""Love is not just feeling. Love is protection."

Lucia’s voice was gentle in return.

"Recording complete. Safety protocols installed. Would you like to deliver it now?"

He smiled slightly and shook his head. "She’s asleep. I’ll leave it beside her pillow."

The Trap is Set.

Naruse is ready to test their bond.

Saki is watching... and planning to destroy what she can’t have.

And Ren — for all his genius — may have just handed both of them a reason to strike harder than ever before.
