Lie Ruge hesitated before answering the question. She knew that if she decided to show up at the press conference, she will never have enough ti to spend with Yi Lan, and she wasn't ready to resu at the office just yet. She loved having Yi Lan around her and that will co to an end if she decides to show up at the office.
" I really don't know. I know that Xiao Bai can handle my uncle and aunts perfectly well but I don't think she will be able to handle the press all on her own. I know just how annoying those reporters can be, and they will make a huge ss if they discover that an outsider beca the CEO of the company instead of Director Lie and Xiao Bai might just freak out if they ask her annoying questions", Lie Ruge said frowning. She was having a hard ti concluding.
" Does that an you are not showing up there? I know you must have a good reason for not wanting to show up there but Xiao Bai might get into trouble if you don't make up your mind quickly or if you want I can do sothing about it", Yi Lan said staring at her inquiringly.
" You know very well that if I decide to show up at the press conference right now, we will hardly have ti see each other and I know that is not what you would want and I don't want to be away from you either", Lie Ruge said dejectedly.
" Wow! That was a very nice confession from you but Ge'er as much as I don't want to be away from you, your company needs you right now and I know how important the company ans to you and you don't have to worry about being away from although I will miss having you around very much but I can always drop by at your office and I know that you can stay without because the Ge'er I know is a strong girl so co on smile for ", Yi Lan said while gently pulling her cheeks.
" Then that ans I will have to show up at the office today", Lie Ruge said finally concluding.
"That is my girl. So, what ti will the press conference be held?", Yi Lan asked curiously while caressing her hands.
" It should have already started by now", Lie Ruge answered nonchalantly.
" Then what are you waiting for wifey hmmm?", Yi Lan asked playfully.
" I'm just waiting for you to get dressed because I'm all set. I love the dress you choose for ; you chose just the perfect dress for this press conference. Thank you so much hubby, don't worry I will personally treat you to my signature dish when everything is settled", Lie Ruge as she pecked Yi Lan on his left cheek.
" Whatever makes you happy and I can't wait to have a taste of your cooking. I have been dying to eat the food you cook and I'm fully set too, I don't have to change into formal clothes today", Yi Lan said as he kissed her right hand in return.
" Co on Pretty lady, let's go, or we might miss the fun", Yi Lan said as he stood up and offer her his right hand. Lie Ruge imdiately grabbed his hand and they headed out.
At the press conference, Lie Feitian could not hide his happiness and it showed in the way he smiled wherever he entered. He was so happy when all the reporters he called all showed up at the large hall, and he was so relieved when he did not hear any report from the Chairman's side. He made sure to keep Xiao Bai and Xu Feng under close surveillance in case they were secretly inford about the press conference, and he was even more joyous when his n inford him that it looks like Xu Feng and Xiao Bai did not get winds of the press conference. When he saw that majority of the reporters were present, he climbed onto the podium with a very sad expression and all the reporters beca alert, they quickly guessed that maybe Lie Feitian wanted to make a very sad announcent. They started talking among themselves.
" Hello everyone, thank you so much for honoring my invitation", Lie Feitian said as he bowed a little in courtesy.
" I am Director Lie and today I will be speaking on behalf of our Chairman, Mr Lie Huo. It is such a sad thing that the world has not heard about the terrible thing that just befell the Lie family recently", Lie Feitian paused to answer so questions from the reporters.
" Director Lie, when you invited us you told us that you wanted to give us exclusive news right. What is this news about? Is it the news of your daughter getting married to her mystery man?",
" Director Lie, you just made ntion of a terrible incident, are you planning to tell us that your daughter's wedding has been cancelled?",
" Director Lie, is the terrible news related to the company? And if that is the case shouldn't CEO Lie be the one to relay the news to us? So where is she?",
" Yes, where is CEO Lie?". All the reporters asked the questions at the sa ti to the extent that it was hard for Lie Feitian to know the person who asked a particular question. All the reporters started screening the hall for any sign of Lie Ruge, but they were disappointed when they did not see even a trace of her. The news would have been a big hit if the world's number one beauty was the one to relay the news.
" Order everyone, please listen to ", Lie Feitian shouted to gain the attention of the reporters once again.
" An ergency board eting was here at our company two weeks ago but it is so sad that none of the reporters was present there", but the reporters interrupted Lie Feitian again before he could complete his sentence.
" What board eting Director Lie?"
" What was the agenda of the board eting if I may ask?", All the reporters kept quiet when a female reporter threw this crucial question at Lie Feitian.
" The agenda of the board eting was to officially remove CEO Lie from her position", Lie Feitian said looking so sad. He was so happy when he saw the look of bewildernt on the reporters' face, they could not believe their ears. Just at that ti Firefly secretly eliminated all the bodyguards who were placed at different points to strictly monitor Xiao Bai and Xu Feng's movents. She hurriedly ran to inform Xiao Bai that everything has been well taken care of, and they imdiately rushed to the conference hall but Lie Changle appeared from nowhere to block their path.
" And where the hell do you guys think you are going to?", Lie Changle asked sternly when she bumped into them in the second floor hallway.
" And why do you care? Can't you just mind your business? Co on guys let's go we might arrive there late", Xiao Bai said sternly as she beckoned Firefly and Xu Feng to follow her.
" Are you deaf? I said where the heck do you think you are going to?", Lie Changle asked rudely as she grabbed Xiao Bai's right hand roughly.
" Do you think that you can delay by using this silly trick? Never.", Xiao Bai said as she quickly pushed her into Firefly's hand. Firefly instantly grabbed her right hand and pull it to the back but Lie Changle struggled to free herself from her grip. Firefly quickly kicks her knees when she continued to struggle with her, and she fell into a kneeling position. Xiao Bai smiled satisfactorily when she saw Changle in that state.
" You know what to do with her right? Don't worry Xu Feng and I will handle the rest", Xiao Bai said as she and Xu Feng quickly walked towards the direction of the hall. Yi Lan and Lie Ruge arrived at the parking lot at that ti. He would have loved to accompany her to the conference hall, but he didn't want the reporters to see him and Lie Ruge together until they officially announce their relationship to the public. He wanted to shock the whole world with the news of their engagent.
" You can do this alright? Be very careful of your wound and don't stretch your back too much since your wound has not healed fully. I will be waiting for your victorious return Ok", Yi Lan said as he gave her a goodbye kiss. Lie Ruge walked majestically into the building, everyone that saw her turn around to give her a second glance. They could not believe that the CEO that was rumoured to be dead was as healthy and beautiful as ever. They were no signs that she was injured so how co such malicious rumours were spread about their CEO?
" Fei Yan, Ge'er has just entered the building so mont ago so follow her and make sure she is safe. No room for failure, her safety is your main priority, I will handle all the reporters on my own", Yi Lan said coldly.
" Ok Boss, I have just seen Miss Lie, I will secretly follow her right away", Fei Yan said before he disconnected the call.
Back in the conference hall, they were a lot of unrest when Lie Feitian disclosed the agenda of their last board eting.
" Director Lie, why was the agenda even brought up because according to the news, CEO Lie has brought about imnse developnt and progress in the company since she beca the CEO of Empire Corporation due to her superior business skills, your company is now second to none so can you please tell us in details why that kind of outrageous agenda ca about", a male reporter threw the question at Lie Feitian. The reporters went silence at that mont to listen to Lie Feitian's answer.
" Everything began two months ago; CEO Lie has been absent from her post for the past two months. Nobody in the company knows where she is or where she went to except her friend and executive assistant. When the board eting was held two weeks ago, her friend made us know that the CEO went on an international business trip. And if that was the truth how co nobody knew about this sudden business trip that she was rumoured to have embarked on?", Lie Feitian asked rhetorically. All the reporters listened attentively.
" We have called all our employees at all our international branches but none of them knew about the CEO's whereabouts and the Chairman has refused to tell us what happened to the CEO", Lie Feitian paused deliberately to allow his ssage to sink into the heads of the reporters.
" Do you an that the CEO has gone missing?",

" Was she kidnapped?",
" Director Lie, I know that you must have a lead on her whereabouts that is why you invited us here right, so what were your findings?", another reporter asked curiously.
