The next day, things played out as Lucas had predicted, while he was busy at the store.

Try as they might, the academy wasn't able to keep information regarding the day of the event a secret, especially since the Baylands City News Network had already confird it took place. Due to this, many dia channels had interviewed a couple of students, staff and freelancers who were present that day, to get a proper understanding of what exactly took place.

From the retelling, they found out that a few students had actually tead up with the adults to rescue their colleagues. The dia teams then focused their efforts on interviewing these students and covering the event.

In order to reduce the criticism for not providing proper security, despite having hired freelancers to be on duty that day, the Greendale Highschool decided to aid these dia teams by providing so footage from the day and allowing the staff to be interviewed regarding the event. Stay tuned with empire

Naturally, the staff were to ntion that the academy had made a lot of security preparations and the attack was out of their capability. Also, the security footage released were those that displayed the academy's efforts to control the situation and rescue their students after the desolate beasts had changed.

This was all done in a bid to present the academy in good lighting, and wash away the stain on their record as much as possible.

In so of those videos were the fights of the students who participated in rescue operations. The idea was to show that the Greendale Highschool, despite being a subsidiary of a pure school of the Technical path, could train talents of the Practical path.

The Heavenly Trio had caught the most attention, being the strongest of the final year students. Their fa wasn't just due to their strength, but their skills and battle awareness. Many in the dia team were wowed by their performances and couldn't wait to interview them. However, so others also managed to stand out, one of them being Wally.

When his battle clip was checked, the dia team wasn't as impressed as they were when watching any of the Heavenly Trio, but they soon noticed sothing. Wally's fighting style might have looked a bit crude, but he had a lot of potential. The professionals amongst them could even see that he had only recently received so sort of special training.

However, what really grabbed everyone's attention was the power of the vestige.

"Incredible. It appears to be a Grade 1 vestige, but its power is closely approaching Grade 2. I've never heard of a vestige-smith who could pull off sothing like this."

"Look at the runes on them. It's unlike anything I've ever seen before."

Many of these n in the dia team needed to work in dangerous regions and so, they had a certain level of power, reaching at least the fourth level of the Body Strengthening stage. All of them were well versed with freelancer terms and equipnt, so they could easily spot what separated Wally's vestige from the rest.

"That technique used with the vestige, it kind of reminds of so cold-type weapons with the complex nature; the Magi branch."

In the weapon branch of vestige-smithing, there were two main ideologies or factions: the Forger faction and the Multiplex factions. These were the two that had existed since ti immorial and still held the ruling positions. However, as of recent, a new school had been on the rise in the weapons branch.

To be exact, it wasn't really an independent school and more of a sub-branch in the Forger faction. They were called the Magi branch.

The Magi branch was a vestige-smithing school of thought that created vestiges using technology gotten from ancient civilisations who used a system similar to stellar refinent. However, this system approached what the humans had called magic.

An example of a vestige made by the Magi branch is the main vestige of Lisa, one of the two vice guild leaders of the Autumn's Gate guild [1]. Her vestige was a black strear with inlaid special gems on them. Those gems were a product made using the techniques of an ancient civilisation.

They were what made the strear powerful, otherwise it would have been nothing more than a piece of material with impressive defensive property. The gems contained special spells within them that would activate once the appropriate keyword was uttered by the wielder.

Compared to traditional cold-type vestiges, the vestiges of the Magi branch were more mysterious, but they still abide by the ideologies of the Forger faction. For instance, there was no need for knowledge of physics, chemistry or engineering when smithing a vestige of the Magi branch.

It also wasn't as complicated as building a ray-gun for this reason, but it was more difficult than forging a spear [2]. Vestiges of the Magi branch also required high quality materials just like other Forger faction vestiges.

Back to the point, so reporters felt that Wally's vestige was a product of a vestige-smith from the Magi branch, but such individuals were scarcer than vestige-smiths of the Multiplex faction. There were only three known vestige-smiths of the Magi branch in Baylands city-state, and they all resided in the Central Prefecture.

An average student from the Greendale Highschool would have no connection there, much less to those vestige-smiths.

The reporters had also confird that Wally didn't co from wealth, so after a round of questioning, they finally found out where he got it.

The Seven Sparks Forge.

The na was unique and unheard of for these reporters who were familiar with all top freelancer stores. However, they were sure that Wally didn't lie to them.

So of them continued their investigations and interviews, while a few actually slled a story and left for the store right away.

For Lucas, who wanted to have a one day break after his 'stressful activity the previous day', he was deed not to have one right away.

Speaking of Lucas, he was currently focused on one of his two major projects.

Many suspected his vestige to be following the path of the Magi branch, but Lucas knew it wasn't. He was aware of the Magi branch, as they seed to create items similar to the magic weapons from his past life. Using that knowledge, Lucas could easily have blended as one of them, but that wasn't what he wanted. Lucas hoped to take the world by storm and start sothing that had never existed before.

While others suspected that he was a vestige-smith of the Magi branch, Lucas was actually trying to create an entirely new faction in the vestige-smithing industry. And his key to doing so, was the project he was working on.
