Chapter 123: Chapter 122: Top Poison Master (Three more updates, please subscribe)

As night fell, the Night Wolf Bar located in Taiping Street in the eastern district shimred early with neon lights.

When ‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke entered the bar with a few subordinates, he was imdiately hit by a mixed scent of alcohol, perfu, and drugs.

The dim, red lighting inside created a hazy atmosphere; the colorful cocktails on the bar shimred enticingly under the lights, while the music throbbed rhythmically and deeply.

However, a quick scan revealed that there were not many guests.

The recent governnt crackdown against terror and gang influence had affected business up to that point, with the Night Wolf Bar having reopened just five days earlier, yet the flow of custors was less than a quarter of what it had been at its peak.

This was partly because his regulars were still nervous and cautious; second, their Blood Lizard Gang didn’t have much good stuff left.

...

That night, the Fabric Club was flattened by a mysterious force, and the last batch of goods hidden by the Blood Lizard Gang there was burnt, causing many custors to drift to other gangs’ territories.

The Blood Lizard Gang, which had once controlled the drug trade in the eastern district, was forced to purchase drugs from other forces, a disgrace indeed.

“Damn Tiana, what did she and her brother have to provoke that bastard for?”,

‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke, hugely irritated, tugged at the gold chain around his neck, “Fuck his grandma, I really don’t know what the boss was thinking, hooking up with such a crazy woman.”

What was even worse was that Iron Fist King actually wanted revenge, hired a whole action group from the Extre Evil Pirate Gang, and made Nai Ke responsible for their logistics.

‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke shuddered at the thought of the consequences if this matter were uncovered.

He knew what Iron Fist King was thinking.

It had only been a few weeks since the last incident, and striking now, in this very sensitive period, could actually serve to prove Iron Fist King’s “innocence” to so extent.

The problem is, why would such a powerful entity, capable of marshalling military and security forces, care about the innocence of an ant like him?

If they got angry, they wouldn’t care whether he was involved or not; they’d just flatten him.

Yet ‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke dared not resist.

He wasn’t afraid of Iron Fist King, but he dreaded the ‘Extre Evil Pirate Gang’, a force that could frustrate the Federal Space Army, ten tis more bloody and brutal than the Blood Lizard Gang.

If his boss had brought in another force or another assassin, ‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke would have written a letter denouncing his boss by now, but at this mont he could only trust his boss’s promise that if things went south, he could escape through the channels of the ‘Extre Evil Pirate Gang’ and beco a pirate leader.

“It’s bad enough that there are few custors; why are there so few of our people as well? Are they all slacking off? Fuck, send a ssage in the group chat, telling them to get their asses back here! If I don’t see anyone by 8:00, they’re out of a job.”

Nai Ke, worried and annoyed, walked up to the third floor of the bar and pushed open his manager’s office.

Sothing felt off at that mont; his pupils dilated as he stared intently at the corner where the surveillance monitors were.

‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke had installed several surveillance monitors in his office to keep an eye on both the inside and outside of the bar, facilitating managent.

Yet, he now saw in the monitors, in the sneaky corners of the second and third floors of the bar, thirty-sothing people lying there.

They were motionless, utterly silent!

— Had they died?

No! If they had died, their smart bracelets would have automatically alerted the authorities.

They must have been knocked out and hidden in these secluded corners.

So there must also be sothing wrong with the control room!

No wonder he hadn’t seen anyone on his way up.

‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke felt a chill shoot up his spine to his head, his scalp tingling as he drew a gun from his waist, “Assassin! Stay alert; I’m calling the police!”

This was surely a top-grade assassin! Silently, he had laid flat all his subordinates on the second and third floors.

These were over thirty junior and mid-ranking Military Cultivators! And among them, three were senior-ranking officers, now all lying like dead pigs on the ground!

Before they passed out, they couldn’t even send a distress signal.

Just as he thought this, ‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke heard soone singing.

“Digging in a tiny garden, dig and dig and dig, plant the tiny seeds and blossoms small flowers bloom—”

This seed like a nursery rhy, which Nai Ke had never heard before; never in his life had he heard anyone sing this lody.

Who was this person?

Just as this thought flashed through Nai Ke’s mind, suddenly, a swath of blade light flashed at the doorway.

Several of ‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke’s subordinates were beheaded in that instant!

Their blood spattered; a part of it splashed right in front of his desk, and through that bloody light, Nai Ke saw a dark figure standing at the doorway, glaring at him with a ferocious and cold gaze.

‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke didn’t hesitate to open fire toward the doorway.

The gun in his hands, a ‘Defender’ model 5, was known for its fierce firepower; it could discharge eighty bullets in one second, emptying the magazine.

Yet, at that mont, the dark figure at the door turned into a bolt of lightning and disappeared; the next instant, the presence of the person appeared behind ‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke.

“Escape Skill! And he’s both a martial artist and a sorcerer!”

‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke dropped his gun without hesitation, drew his blade, and decisively cut toward his own back.

This person had likely set up a talisman in advance at that spot.

But just then, Nai Ke felt a montary daze in his mind, and the strength in his body quickly faded away.

“Is this an anesthetic?”

‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke couldn’t believe his eyes. How long had it been since he entered this bar, this office?

When had he been poisoned? In what manner?

He, Nai Ke, was a major-ranked Martial Artist. Who could have poisoned him so silently, without his own awareness?

Just as this thought flashed through Nai Ke’s mind, his knife-holding right hand was chopped off by soone.

The dark figure not only drew his knife extrely fast but even the speed of his cuts surpassed his by two levels, instantly severing his other hand as well.

This person even conveniently used the scorching hot blade to cauterize the wound on his shoulder, preventing him from fainting from blood loss.

‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke initially let out a heart-wrenching scream, then glared furiously at the dark figure with widened eyes, “Who are you? How dare you ss with the Blood Lizard Gang! You mongrel, you’ll regret this!”

Lin Rui looked down at ‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke, his lips subtly curving up with a hint of mockery.

At that mont, he heard the sound of sirens from outside the window.

“Has soone called the police already?”

Perhaps because there had been an anti-terrorist operation recently, the response from the East District police station was quite quick.

Lin Rui, calm and collected, took out a homade truth serum and injected it into Nai Ke’s neck, then sliced off the man’s left ear.

‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke’s smart terminal was a round earring hanging on his left ear, which the police could use to track his location.

At the sa ti, Lin Rui released a swarm of flying needles from his sleeve, which zood through the bar’s corridors like a swarm of bees, quickly piercing through the brains of the unconscious Blood Lizard Gang mbers and swiftly killing them.

He also conveniently destroyed the database in the surveillance room, the flying needles emitting bursts of lightning, using extre heat to obliterate the database.

At this ti, nurous notifications of demon cultivators being slaughtered popped up in Lin Rui’s mind.

Lin Rui’s lips curled up in pleasure.

This ti, though the Soul Power points he gained were not as high as during the underground mine battle, the total reached 8324 points.

Lin Rui then carried ‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke and jumped out the window, swiftly running across the rooftops outside.

Not until three minutes later, when Lin Rui could no longer hear the siren, did he put ‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke down.

Lin Rui looked at him emotionlessly, “Where are the people sent by the Vile Pirate Gang?”

‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke, with a dazed look, vaguely answered, “They are on Longze West Road, Longze Youth Hotel, rooms 5321 and 5322 on the fifth floor, both presidential suites, can accommodate 3 to 4 people each.”

While checking the map on his smart terminal, Lin Rui inquired, “Who are they? What’s their combat strength? What weapons do they use?”

“Captain Acheson, B-rank lieutenant colonel! chanic Cha Ya, C-rank major! Sniper Yan Zhuo, B-rank major—”

Lin Rui patiently listened to all the information from ‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke and continued to ask, “What are the passwords for the two bank cards you carry? Which bank issued them?”

‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke instinctively felt sothing was wrong. He knew he shouldn’t divulge it, for saying it would seal his fate.

Besides, the money in those two bank cards was what he had worked hard to earn this year.

Yet, he couldn’t help himself and blurted out the nas of two underground banks, along with a combination of numbers and letters for the passwords.

Lin Rui took the two cards and confird the passwords.

Balance: 3345621—

Balance: 4563124—

As he looked at the balance figures on the cards, his eyebrows arched slightly. This guy was quite rich indeed, deserving of being a mid-level leader in the Blood Lizard Gang.

Too bad it was all unprocessed black money, not usable openly.

But he could consider using this money to exchange for so private equipnt, like a set of rune flying needles.

With the rune flying needles, Lin Rui wouldn’t need to stick symbols everywhere when he fought.

He could also buy a four-boundary flying sword. His current spiritual power was quite strong, and he could afford to buy a better one to greatly enhance his combat strength.

Lin Rui then swiftly drew his knife and plunged it into ‘Wild Wolf’ Nai Ke’s forehead, harvesting his Soul Power points.

Next, his figure flickered, and he dashed toward Longze West Road, heading to the Longze Youth Hotel.

It was at this mont he received a ssage from Xue Lingxue.

White Sumr (Xue Lingxue): Lin Rui, were you just at the Night Wolf Bar? Did you attack soone from the Blood Lizard Gang again? Have you lost your mind? What were you thinking?

Lin Rui blinked and replied imdiately.

Gu Ying Tiandao (Lin Rui): What’s the Night Wolf Bar? I don’t understand. I’m in the sleep chamber right now.

Just then, he saw a dark figure in the night sky, shooting toward him like a teor, slashing with a knife.

Lin Rui’s mind sharpened, and he instantly changed his stance, retreating 20 ters to create distance between them.

He looked at the familiar figure in front of him, clad in black full-coverage exoskeleton armor, and couldn’t help but feel a headache.

—It was indeed Xue Lingxue the police commissioner, and his lie had been exposed.
