Chapter 733: Chapter 497: Reserving a Place for You!_2

After waiting for about five or six minutes, Han Yu returned the call from a public phone.

"Salted Fish, it’s Wen Hong here, congratulations! I heard you just bought a new house, very large and beautiful with a great location. You can see the Huangpu River just by opening the window. When do you plan to co back? Are you going to throw a few tables to celebrate?"

"Celebrate what? I’m nearly broke."

These days, Han Yu had been teased almost every day, and he said with a wry face: "It’s really my own fault. If I had been more careful and vigilant initially, I definitely wouldn’t have ended up like this!"

Wen Hong laughed and asked, "What happened, are you having regrets?"

"Director Wang, no joke, I nearly turned my intestines green with regret."

"You’ve already bought it, what’s the use of regretting now."

"I can’t bla anyone else for this, only my own self."

"What exactly happened?"

Han Yu looked back and explained with deep regret: "Actually, buying the house was a secondary matter. The main thing was to register Han Han’s Hukou in East Sea. Initially, I didn’t understand East Sea’s blue stamp Hukou policy, so I asked Director Xiao from the Marine Police Bureau to inquire about it. But Director Xiao didn’t understand it either, so he called a colleague from another district."

"And then?" asked Wen Hong, curious.

"That colleague from the other district was a Criminal Police, not a Public Security Police, and certainly not a Hukou Police officer. He didn’t quite understand these matters either and assud there were no regulations regarding family reunification or child dependency."

"So, are there such regulations or not?"

"There are. I only found out when I went to the Police Station with the real estate developnt company staff to register the Hukou. If the blue stamp Hukou is held for two years, a spouse and an unmarried child can apply for it. In other words, I just needed to buy a smaller, relatively cheaper house. First, register Ningning for East Sea’s blue stamp Hukou, and after two years, Han Han and I could apply for it according to the regulations."

Fearing that his old leader, who had just been promoted to director, might not understand, Han Yu added with a bitter smile: "Originally, it would only take 160,000 to buy a simple comrcial house of seventy or eighty square ters. Instead, I spent 660,000, and with taxes and other expenses included, nearly 700,000!"

You didn’t want to buy at first, you didn’t care about it, and you didn’t research East Sea’s policies thoroughly. Now you’ve spent hundreds of thousands more, who is to bla?

Wen Hong didn’t know what to say, so he could only offer words of consolation: "A house is not just a house. Director Zhu said that you guys bought an export house, which is one of the most upscale communities in Pudong!"

"No matter how upscale, it’s for others to live in."

"Do your mother-in-law and Ningning know about this?"

"They know."

"Do they have any regrets?"

"They don’t regret it, they just like expensive houses. After seeing it, they don’t look down on ordinary residential communities anymore."

"What about your sister and Zhang Lan?"

"It’s pretty much the sa. The day before yesterday when they ca to register the blue stamp Hukou, they even brought the cara from the Dunship. They took a lot of photos in the community, saying that even if they can’t live there, they could at least look at the pictures."

"Why can’t you live there?"

"Starting this month, I have to pay back more than 2,900 yuan a month for the mortgage. The total monthly inco of all working family mbers put together is barely enough. So, we need to rent out the house quickly to get so rental inco to supplent the mortgage."

Wen Hong asked with a smile, "Can it be rented out?"

That may be the only thing worthy of relief.

Han Yu let out a light sigh, "Renting it out shouldn’t be difficult. The sales manager who sold us the house is Director Xiao’s colleague’s wife. All three families have entrusted her to rent out our houses."

Zhao Hongxing couldn’t help but lean over and ask, "Salted Fish, how much can your house rent for a month?"

"The Manager Wu negotiated a rent of two thousand per month yesterday. But that company wants to rent it for only three months first. Manager Wu suggested we wait and see if we can find soone for a longer lease."

"Renting to a company?"

"This place is not far from Lujiazui. Many businesses from other places co here to set up branch offices."

"Paying a mortgage of 2,900 a month, but getting a rent of 2,000, the loan pressure doesn’t seem too big!"

"The pressure isn’t too big if the rental is stable. But who can be certain when it cos to renting out properties? Besides, we not only have to repay the mortgage now but also need to repay over a hundred thousand we borrowed for the down paynt and tax fees to get the property title."

"Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. You married into your wife’s family, and both your father-in-law and mother-in-law are helping you. There are four of you earning money in your family; you can pay off those hundreds of thousands in loans quickly."

Wen Hong smiled, then changed the subject: "Salted Fish, let’s talk about work first. The personnel to receive the patrol boat in Hanwu are all ready. The shipyard and the Changhang Police Bureau suggest we hold a simple handover ceremony. On the way back, we’ll also escort a Navy submarine. When can you co back? If you can’t return for now, you can take the train directly to Hanwu from East Sea."

Receiving the patrol boat was a big deal, especially since they had to escort a submarine on the way back.

Han Yu quickly said, "I’ll head back tonight. I’ve already spoken to Mayor Shen and Director Zhou. I’ll go straight back to Binjiang tonight. Tomorrow morning, I want to call a eting with all the crew mbers to discuss the waterway conditions from Hanwu to Binjiang and ideally work out a navigation and escort plan for the return journey."

It turns out that the young man hadn’t been crushed by the massive debt brought on by the house purchase.

Wen Hong laughed and said, "I’m relieved then. I almost forgot, there’s sothing I need to report to you."

"What’s the matter?"

"Actually, there are two things. One is about the repercussions of you cracking down on illegal sand mining...there are people holding grudges..."

Wen Hong briefly ntioned the incident where he and Han Xiangning were falsely accused, then steered the conversation back: "The Water Resources Bureau is planning to sponsor a patrol boat, and they want to purchase one themselves too. Director Liao from the Water Resources Bureau plans to go with you to sign the patrol boat purchase contract with the shipyard, and also entrust Xiao Yu to oversee the construction. After finishing these matters, they will return with the main force."
