Nathan stood at the back, listening to Paisley say this, and walked over to stand in front of Damian.
Paisley looked up at her, "Why are you still picking a fight?"
"In-law, I’m not here to fight. I was wrong about last ti. I apologize to you and ask for your forgiveness."
Henry glanced sideways at Ivy; it was the first ti he’d seen his mom admit she was wrong in front of soone else.
Ivy also gave her a look in return, while Paisley was suddenly puzzled by Nathan’s words.
After a brief awkward mont, she mumbled, "What are you all up to here, what’s this act about?"
"In the past, I was stubborn and unwilling to change, but I’ve had so realizations these past few months.
My family fell on hard tis, yet Ivy still stuck by Henry. Ivy isn’t the girl I thought she was; that was my mistake."
Paisley still felt suffocated inside: "Your family fell, so you have this realization. But if you were still high and mighty? Wouldn’t my daughter still be wronged and misunderstood by you?"
"How could the heavens let be arrogant forever; I’ve gotten my couppance now."
Paisley was slightly embarrassed, but there was so truth to that.
Russell pointed to the table: "Co on, in-laws, you both sit down too."
Ivy took Paisley into the kitchen with her, and Paisley grumbled, "What’s with your in-laws doing this way."
"I’m puzzled too. I don’t know, but since it’s New Year’s today, let’s just let it go; making a scene is never good."
"I think their family is just shrewd, knowing that today there’s no way I could kick them out."
Ivy scratched her brow: "Yesterday, my mother-in-law ca to our house and apologized to , asking and Henry to spend New Year’s at theirs.
Henry still resents his parents a bit, so naturally, he didn’t want to go, I didn’t want to either, so we didn’t think much of it. Who would have thought they’d show up today?"
Paisley was frustrated: "This family really has a way of worrying people, they can’t have a good New Year themselves, and won’t let others have peace either."
Ivy patted her shoulder: "Forget it, my dad already let them stay, just bear with it."
"What else am I supposed to do, given consideration for you and Henry, I can’t drive away soone who apologized to now, can I?"
Ivy looked at her mom with a knowing smile, her mom was formidable.
The al wasn’t particularly comforting, Ivy could see, her mom still had so knots in her heart, Henry also felt awkward, only her father-in-law and her own dad were in relatively good spirits.
After dinner, Henry asked Damian and Nathan to leave.
When they were leaving, Russell asked Damian and Ivy to go downstairs to see them off.
Ivy understood her dad’s intention and didn’t oppose, it’s New Year’s after all, and everyone’s heart should be at ease.
He took Henry by the hand and went downstairs, after seeing the two off, Ivy said, "Your mom really held back a lot today, huh."
"Yeah, I’ve never seen her so silent before.
Truth is, she probably wasn’t too comfortable eating here today, but she actually stuck it out."
Ivy laughed, "Looks like your mom is really planning to turn over a new leaf.
I even saw her teasing little Ivy just now, that’s rare, it even scared a bit."
Henry tapped her forehead, "You’re so exaggerated."
Ivy wrinkled her nose with a smile, took his arm, and went upstairs with him.
During the New Year’s Eve dinner, the in-laws didn’t appear again, and in the evening, the family was joyful and lively.
On the morning of the second day, Russell called Henry, asking him to bring Ivy and their child ho for New Year’s greetings.
Henry didn’t want to dismiss Russell’s intentions, so after hanging up, he asked Ivy for her opinion.
Ivy didn’t object, after all, reciprocity is expected in these situations.
The in-laws humbled themselves to spend New Year’s at their house on New Year’s Eve, it was rely a way to make ands.
If she and Henry didn’t return after New Year, that would show they were inconsiderate.
The family of three returned to the Sullivan’s on the second day of the New Year, Nathan was quite happy, she hadn’t properly cooked in years, but actually went to the kitchen herself to prepare dishes.
Ivy thought Nathan really was different now.
The first ti at the Sullivan’s for New Year, although she went to the kitchen, the attitude back then left a lasting impression.
Now her mother-in-law seed like a different person.
Henry said not to believe the illusion in front of her, perhaps his mom would revert back to her true self in a few months.
But this ti, Nathan’s persistence indeed gave both of them a fresh perspective.
For a continuous six months, Nathan went with Damian to see the child every week and was never cold or sarcastic.
Ivy saw her mother-in-law’s change and naturally began to slowly accept the elderly couple.
Sotis, when Henry criticized his parents, she would sowhat speak up for them.
Upon reflection, sotis what others say is true, relationships between people change as they interact, and through change, they beco better.
In September, little Ivy started kindergarten, and Ivy was finally free.
She arranged to have lunch with Chloe, Everly, and Mila, and the four talked about their school days, filled with happiness.
After the al, Henry drove over to pick her up, and after parting with her old friends, she got in the car. She was in a great mood, and Henry said, "Looks like the gathering was fun."
"It was fun."
"Then let tell you sothing even happier, shall I?"
Ivy nodded, "Say it, go ahead, I love hearing good news right now."
"Isla’s pregnant, Jas just called and told the good news."
Ivy’s heart leapt with joy, "Really? That’s wonderful news. Did you properly give your congratulations to Jas and Isla?"
"Of course I did."
Ivy’s eyes smiled into a line: "I believe Isla must be extrely happy now. They’ve been looking forward to this child for so long, and finally, it’s coming."
"She deserves it, Isla and Jas are good people. Good people always have good returns."
She touched her own belly: "I believe that, hey, do you think Isla’s baby is older or our second child?"
"Theirs is farther along, our second one is just two months, while they are four months." He said, naturally touching her belly.
Yes, she was pregnant again, it was only found out a month ago.
Back then, she was just relieved that her Cynthia started kindergarten, otherwise... she really wouldn’t be able to manage two little troublemakers.
Ivy pursed her lips, "Then later, our kids could match together, no matter if it’s a boy and girl, two boys, or two girls, don’t you think?"
Just then, the car reached a red light. Henry leaned forward, and they shared a sweet kiss before the car continued.
In May of the following year, three months after Isla gave birth to a son, Ivy also smoothly delivered a baby boy nad Damian Jr.
From then on, her family was complete, with healthy parents, harmony, and everything a married couple would wish for; life couldn’t be more perfect.
As long as you know how to cherish, life is really full of happiness everywhere. She looked forward to and anticipated an even more beautiful life ahead, stretching on for endless years.
