"Quick, tell , quick! I’m all ears," Ivy was extrely impatient.
"Actually, you’re just overthinking because you’re concerned. Whatever you do, don’t tell your uncle this.
Isn’t Isla Linton unable to have kids? And don’t you quite like her?
Then why don’t you try to find renowned doctors from around the world to treat her?
I just don’t believe that having a child can be that difficult!
Eldoria is such a big place, with all sorts of Traditional and Western dicine.
Aren’t you feeling guilty because you think this has sothing to do with your uncle?
Aren’t you uncomfortable not telling your uncle about this?
Then just find a way to make up for it.
Though your actions are quite loyal and righteous, I have to say, the outco isn’t sothing you can control. Just do your best."
When Ivy thought about it, she realized it too. If Isla could be cured and get pregnant again,
wouldn’t that solve everything?
But after the treatnt, there needs to be a man involved. She has to find ti to persuade Isla to live with Jas Yinley for a few more years.
If it indeed doesn’t work after a few years, then it’s okay to give up.
Thinking this way, Ivy was filled with motivation: "My dear one, you’re amazing, thank you."
"Thanking ? You’re ridiculous, you sicken ."
"Oh, co on, darling, we’re not strangers.
Honestly, ever since I t Isla Linton, I’ve been feeling out of sorts, don’t ntion how bad I felt.
Now I don’t feel bad anymore, I feel relieved."
Everly Lewis laughed: "You’re just sharp-tongued but soft-hearted.
Luckily, Isla didn’t co back to steal your husband.
Otherwise, after hearing about her situation, you’d probably hand over your husband to her."
"Look at you mocking like that."
Everly scoffed: "I’m already complinting you."
Ivy was speechless, feeling she’d have to cut ties with this woman, otherwise she’d be ridiculed to death.
"Alright, alright, I won’t keep you anymore. It’s the weekend, take so rest."
"Wait a minute, why’re you in a hurry to hang up during our chat? I still have sothing important to say." Everly rolled her eyes, feeling rejected.
Ivy laughed: "Yeah, I thought you were done rambling, go on, what’s the important part."
"Where are you going to find a doctor? I heard from my mom when we visited my grandmother’s house that there’s an amazing Traditional dicine doctor who specializes in infertility over there.
He’s quite haughty. Although he consults in a small hospital, all his students are Ph.D. candidates in obstetrics and gynecology."
"Really? Then quickly help get in touch."
Ivy suddenly felt energized.
"I’ll do my best, because this was several years ago.
I heard from my mom that the ti that doctor was already in his seventies.
I don’t even know if he’s still practicing."
"Alright, alright, we’ll start finding out anyway, I’ll also ask around myself.
Seeing doctors requires using all the energy you have; otherwise, it just gets more and more disheartening."
"Exactly, okay, now you can hang up."
Ivy chuckled: "Uh huh, alright, even though I know you’re tired of , I still have to say, thanks a lot darling."
"Get lost," Everly laughed and hung up the call imdiately.
Ivy smiled knowingly, realizing the truth in the saying, the more friends you have, the smoother the path.
After lunch, she started making all kinds of calls to find out if anyone around her knew an infertility doctor.
Once she collected all the information, she began looking into these doctors to see if any of them were all talk and no substance.
If she’s going to search, she’d naturally want to find a truly good doctor.
Henry Sullivan returned around four o’clock. As soon as he entered, Ivy said, "Why are you back so early today?"
"If it weren’t for the long journey, I might have been back even earlier."
After Henry said that, Ivy rubbed her temples, "Uncle, maybe... we should move back to the base."
Henry turned to look at her: "Move back?"
"It doesn’t matter to where I live. Now that the misunderstanding has been cleared up, there’s no need for you to keep coming back and forth every day."
Henry smiled and pulled her into an embrace: "So it’s all for , huh?"
"Otherwise, do you want to keep living here and commuting back and forth?"
"It doesn’t matter where I want to live, as long as I’m where you want to be."
Ivy was touched and wrapped her arms around his waist: "Uncle, I’m actually quite grateful."
"Grateful for what?"
"Grateful that Isla isn’t back to steal you away.
If she really ca back for that, with my petty temper, I would’ve handed you over."
Henry also felt relieved, grateful that he and Isla were able to clear the air, so now he could be more justified.
"Uncle, let’s move back to the base. Living there is convenient, too."
"Alright, we’ll go back tomorrow."
Ivy nodded with a smile. It was Sunday the next day; they had nothing on, so they started packing early in the morning to move back to the base.
For the following week, Henry was extrely busy with important etings.
On Tuesday, Ivy received a call from Jas Yinley.
He just returned to Mountain City to handle so company affairs, and it may take a few days before he can co back to Anchester.
"Why are you telling this? I’m not your wife, don’t report to ."
Jas Yinley was speechless: "What are you thinking? I actually need to ask you a favor."
Ivy Miller laughed: "Why are you being so serious? I was just kidding with you."
"I find it hard to imagine that Henry Sullivan would actually live with a woman like you.
It seems like he could be played by you at any mont."
"You know the saying ’know the face, but not the heart’, right? Back in our house, it was mostly the older folks keeping in check."
Jas Yinley laughed: "I think you need so ’keeping in check’ too."
"Do you even know how to talk to people? If you keep up this poor chatting, don’t even think of asking for a favor."
"Oh little girl, you actually know how to threaten people."
"Of course, it’s a necessary survival skill for us young ladies. Go ahead, what do you need for?"
Ivy Miller bragged a little.
"When you’re free, go spend so ti with Isla, don’t let her overthink things.
I think you have a good personality, very lively. Go lift her spirits, help her feel less restrained."
"About that... alright, I’ll help you."
"You’re agreeing so easily?" Jas Yinley was puzzled.
Ivy Miller was dissatisfied: "You say that as if I was difficult before. Sweetie, don’t underestimate people, okay?"
Jas Yinley just smiled without saying a word.
"Treat to a al when you get back."
"Okay."
After hanging up the phone, Ivy Miller began to pack her things, told her aunt she was going out for a bit, then called Henry Sullivan, and finally drove out alone.
When she arrived at the Forrest Family’s place, she brought so gifts, although the old man from the Forrest Family said there was no need to be so formal, she couldn’t disregard etiquette.
Seeing Ivy Miller co to find her, Isla Linton was surprised. It had only been three days, how did she already co?
"Sister Isla, I want to go shopping, will you accompany ?"
"I’m not really fond of shopping."
"Oh co on, staying inside is boring anyway, please co out with ."
"But..."
"But what? I actually have sothing I want to discuss with you."
Ivy Miller was so enthusiastic it left Isla Linton unsure of how to refuse.
Eventually, under her gentle but persistent urging, Isla Linton finally ca out with her.
Isla Linton really hadn’t been out for a long ti, when she got to the street, she actually felt like she was in a different world.
Ivy Miller spoke while driving: "Do you know where I’m taking you today?"
"We’re going to look at houses," Ivy Miller turned to look at her with a light smile.
"Look at houses?" Isla Linton was puzzled, "Look at what houses?"
"You don’t want to go back to Mountain City with Jas Yinley, right?
Since that’s the case, you can’t stay at the Forrest Family’s place forever.
I’ll go with you to find a place to stay, then you can live there openly and rightly."
Isla Linton nodded, this idea actually made sense, she couldn’t keep inconveniencing the Forrest Family.
Because she was there, the old man from the Forrest Family always had to put in extra effort.
"What if Jas Yinley finds out I’ve moved out..."
"So what, until he agrees to the divorce papers, you’re still a married couple.
Even if you can’t be husband and wife, it’s not like you can’t even be friends, right?
Sister Isla, didn’t I ntion there’s sothing I want to discuss with you? Well... don’t mind , I’m quite straightforward, but I suggest you see a doctor."
"See a doctor? Because of the infertility issue?"
"Yes," Ivy Miller nodded, stole a glance at her, then focused on driving: "Would you think I’m being nosy?"
"No, I appreciate your concern, but I don’t want to face more setbacks."
"If there’s a problem, it needs treatnt. If everyone thinks like you, Eldoria’s doctors would starve.
Besides, our country has such a rich history of Traditional dicine, you should have faith in yourself and in the doctors.
Also, don’t be quick to reject Jas Yinley, alright?
Give him a chance, and give yourself a chance. You’re still young.
Give yourself a few years. If in a few years you still can’t solve this issue, then leaving him won’t be too late.
After all, n can have children into their sixties and seventies, what are you afraid of?"
Isla Linton turned her head and smiled: "But I can’t hold him up, knowing my own body..."
"You’re not a doctor; you don’t get to decide.
Even a doctor wouldn’t outright dismiss it.
Maybe one doctor says it’s bad, and the next one agrees, but if you’re lucky, you’ll et one who’s truly skilled and compassionate.
You need to make an effort for your own life.
It’s too early to be a Black Turtle, give yourself a chance.
Whether you’re inside lost in thoughts every day, or out with relaxing and seeing doctors, it’s all living.
Who knows, maybe the heavens will be especially kind to you."
Isla Linton was amazed, "Ivy, I really admire you. How do you manage to be so optimistic?"
Ivy Miller chuckled: "Because I love myself, loving yourself ans others will love you, and life becos increasingly happier."
