Ivy Miller sat in a stranger’s car, her eyes red.

"Young lady, where are you headed?"

"Mister, can you find a nearby five-star hotel and drop off there?"

"Alright," the driver started the car and drove away.

"Young lady, how co you’re alone during the New Year?"

Speaking of being alone, Ivy Miller suddenly felt a wave of grievance.

She wasn’t supposed to be alone; it was because she had a fight with that jerk Henry Sullivan that she left on her own.

"I encountered sothing unpleasant."

"Life is just a lifeti, no matter how unhappy you are, you must lift your spirits.

Moreover, today is New Year’s, you’re out here pregnant by yourself, your family must be worried."

Ivy Miller bit her lip; family, besides her parents, who else did she have?

Henry Sullivan didn’t really treat her as his family at all.

The more she thought about it, the more uncomfortable she felt.

A stranger could comfort her like this, but the man she shares a bed with won’t even bother to lie to her.

Isla Linton wasn’t that pretty, why?

Why did he treat her this way?

Also, Isla Linton was unknowingly affecting her marriage.

But why should she be influenced by Isla Linton?

It was Henry Sullivan who owed Isla Linton, not her Ivy Miller.

As she was thinking, a car suddenly overtook and abruptly stopped in front of theirs.

If the driver hadn’t been going slow and braked in ti, they would have crashed straight into it.

Ivy Miller was also startled, still shaken, when the driver unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car.

Then, people from the other car got out too, and Ivy Miller glanced through the windshield, shocked beyond belief, Henry Sullivan, was he out of his mind?

The driver was anxious: "What’s up with your driving, don’t you know how dangerous that was just now?"

Henry Sullivan glanced at the driver and walked to the back of the car, opening the door and spoke inside: "Get out."

Ivy Miller turned her head away from him.

The driver puzzled: "You two know each other?"

Henry Sullivan grit his teeth: "This is my wife."

"I am not your wife, I don’t know you."

The driver approached cautiously, looking at Henry Sullivan: "Buddy, it’s New Year’s, don’t bring trouble on people.

This young lady looks quite pitiful, but I won’t let you trick her, young lady, don’t be afraid, today I won’t let him take you away."

Hearing the stranger speak like that, Ivy Miller truly felt warmth in her heart.

She really was lucky to et a good person when she went out.

Henry Sullivan sighed helplessly, taking his military ID from his pocket and handing it to the stranger.

"I’m a soldier, these are my credentials."

"So what if you have a military ID?

Look at your age, are you suitable for the young lady, just making things up.

There are so many ways to deceive people now, how do I know if you’re really a soldier.

This young lady is pregnant, you better not have any designs on her."

"Then call the police, you’ll be reassured when they arrive, won’t you?"

The driver pointed at Henry Sullivan: "You’re cocky, thinking I wouldn’t dare call the police, huh?

You’re right, I’ll call them now, when the police arrive, let’s see how you ss with the young lady."

"Wait a minute, Mister," hearing him ntion calling the police, Ivy Miller got anxious.

She shifted her awkward body and got out, the stranger asked: "Young lady, what’s wrong?"

"Mister, don’t call the police, this man... is indeed my husband."

"What?" The stranger was alard: "You two, as husband and wife, are playing with people on New Year’s?"

"It’s not like that; Mister, don’t misunderstand, I know you’re a good person.

I hope if you encounter such situations in the future, you would still help others.

The reason I didn’t get out of the car was because... I felt I no longer had a place in this marriage.

Perhaps, this is the last ti I will call this gentleman my husband."

With tears in her eyes, Ivy Miller spoke, and the stranger glanced at Ivy Miller’s big belly before turning to Henry Sullivan: "A man should be responsible, that’s the way to be reliable.

The young lady has a big belly, and you still have the nerve to upset her.

Marriage is like that, won and n have inherently different personalities.

Won need love, need to be coaxed.

On such a happy day, you two end up arguing like this.

As a man, you should take so responsibility and apologize to the young lady."

The driver shook his head after he finished speaking: "Alright, young lady, I’m in a hurry to get ho, I won’t ddle in your affair any longer, take care."

"Mister, thank you, you’re a good person, Happy New Year."

"You too, Happy New Year."

After the driver got back into the car, he reversed a bit and then drove around Henry Sullivan’s car and left.

Ivy Miller stood opposite Henry Sullivan, seeing him remain silent, she turned and started walking away.

Henry Sullivan stepped forward and grabbed her hand.

Ivy Miller bit her lip: "What do you want?"

"Where are you going?"

"To the hotel. We both need to calm down and think properly.

Mister, I think you should seriously think about what you really want.

Perhaps, you’re just one step away from your happiness; if you dare, you can return to the side of the one you love."

"What nonsense are you talking?" Hearing Ivy Miller say that, Henry Sullivan frowned tightly.

"You’re well aware that I’m not talking nonsense, but if your heart just can’t let go,

then why are you thinking about that and living with this?

Isla Linton’s life is ant to be cherished by you.

But my life, Ivy Miller’s life, is not ant to be ruined."

Ivy Miller’s voice grew louder as she spoke: "Yes, today is supposed to be a festive day, and my words might be dampening the spirit.

But... so things truly need to be clarified earlier, so everyone can be relieved sooner."

"Enough, don’t make a fuss, the baby’s listening in your belly."

You want the baby to think they have an unhappy family?"

After Henry Sullivan spoke, Ivy Miller gently touched her belly.

"It’s better if the baby’s listening, at least she will know why her parents decided to part ways.

She will also know neither you nor I don’t love her; it’s just that we are not suitable together, so we decided to part."

"Who said I’m going to let you leave." Henry Sullivan was agitated: "Why would I want to leave you."

"I’m the one who wants to leave you; I’m the one who wants to divorce you."

Ivy Miller’s expression showed determination: "So words, I’ve kept in my heart for a long ti, mister, don’t you think... our marriage is missing sothing?

Every day, we laugh, we joke, but in that ho, haven’t you felt like sothing’s missing? Haven’t you ever thought about it?"

"Missing what?"

"Love, that ho lacks love," Ivy Miller said through gritted teeth.
