"Awake?" Henry Sullivan’s voice sounded by her ear, and Ivy Miller knew she wasn’t dreaming.

Just when she vaguely saw this figure in the dark, she knew it was him.

"Uncle, why did you co back? When did you co in, and why didn’t I hear a sound at all?"

"You might be too tired, and I was afraid of disturbing you, so I walked in very lightly.

How are you feeling now? Do you feel any better?"

Ivy nodded, "I’m okay now, Uncle, please turn on the light for ."

Henry Sullivan bent over and turned on the bedside lamp.

Seeing his weathered face, Ivy felt a bit worried, "You still haven’t answered . How did you co back?"

"Morning, Dad called about your situation. I was too worried, so I took leave and ca back right away."

Ivy pouted, "Uncle, actually, I’m okay. You didn’t have to co back."

Just before sleeping, she was still angry because he hadn’t called her all day.

But now seeing him sitting right in front of her, she instantly felt all her anger vanish.

"You’ve gone through such a big ordeal, how could I not co back?

I’ll be here taking good care of you, so just relax and rest well."

"But... can you really take such a long leave?"

"I used this year’s annual leave, so I have plenty of ti. Don’t worry, I keep my word."

Ivy pursed her lips. Although it felt sowhat unreal, she knew that Uncle was genuinely sitting here with her.

"Uncle, aren’t you surprised? I’m actually pregnant."

Ivy said as she touched her belly, "From the mont I found out until this very mont, I’ve felt as if I’m dreaming."

Henry Sullivan gently brushed her hair, "I’m a bit surprised too, but thinking about it carefully, it’s kind of expected. I hadn’t taken any precautions before."

Hearing him say this, Ivy blushed a little in embarrassnt.

"So, did you plan to have a child from the beginning?"

"It’s because you said you’d cook for and the child in the future.

Your words moved . Thinking about it, having a child for a family seems like a nice thing."

As he spoke, Ivy rembered the child he never got to have.

All these years, he must have felt quite regretful.

Her hand gently caressed her belly, "Uncle, actually... you quite like kids, don’t you?"

"I... not really. I feel that having a kid around the house would be a bit noisy.

But thinking about it carefully, I’m not young anymore. Having a child at this age, I still have the energy to educate them.

Later on, the generation gap might widen, and that wouldn’t be a good thing for the future."

Ivy nodded without saying a word.

Henry asked, "And what about you, do you want to have a child?"

Ivy felt a bit guilty, "Honestly, I hadn’t thought about having a baby this early.

My intention was to have children around twenty-eight.

After marriage, I wanted to enjoy freedom for another three or four years.

I’ve heard that life becos quite miserable after having a baby."

"That’s with other people, not with you. I believe you’ll beco a great mom."

Ivy stuck out her tongue, "Uncle, I didn’t expect you to be so good at flattery."

"It’s not flattery. When you were unmarried and living at ho, you weren’t all that happy.

So during your ti raising a baby, you will surely avoid those factors that used to upset you. That’s why I have faith in you."

Ivy shook her head, "No."

"Why?"

"I was quite happy at ho, actually. The only thing that made unhappy was my dad’s attitude and the loneliness when he often left alone at ho.

Every ti my parents let eat in the dining hall alone, I felt lonely.

Without them accompanying out because they had to work overti, I felt lonely.

When Dad took care of alone but made sit quietly without moving, it made sad because he didn’t play with even when he was ho.

Dad never told stories, and he almost never played with .

So... I feel like it’s useless if I’m the only one who can accompany the baby well in this family.

Because the love a baby needs cos from both parents, not just a mom performing a solo act."

Henry Sullivan smiled and nodded, "I understand what you an, don’t worry, I’ll do my best as well.

I won’t beco a father that the child resents, and I’ll do everything I can to make our child happy."

Ivy suddenly felt warmth in her heart, feeling she was truly willing to have a child with such a man.

Alright, having a baby might indeed be a bit early at this age, but she accepted it.

"Alright, it’s a bit late now, you should get so rest."

"What about you?" Ivy lay on the hospital bed, blinking her eyes at him.

"I’ll stay here with you."

"No, I an, you must be really tired from rushing back.

Why don’t you go ho and rest for a bit, you can co back to keep company tomorrow."

"It’s okay, I’m not tired. If I get really sleepy later, I’ll just lie down on the sofa for a while. You don’t have to worry about . Just rest."

Ivy smiled, "Alright."

The uncle was back, and she felt a sense of peace in her heart.

Early the next morning, when she woke up, Henry Sullivan helped her wash her face with a towel. Just as he finished, Ivy’s mother ca in with a thermos box.

Seeing Henry there, Ivy’s mother was slightly surprised. Henry smiled at her, "Mom, you’re here."

"Henry, how co you’re back? Did Ivy call you?"

"No, it was my dad who called. Besides, how could I not be by Ivy’s side for sothing like this?"

Henry went up to help his mother-in-law with the thermos box, "Mom, is this breakfast for Ivy?"

"Yes, I didn’t know you were back, so I didn’t prepare breakfast for you. I can go down and buy so now. Just wait a mont."

"Mom, there’s no need. I’ll go buy sothing. Is there anything you want to eat? I’ll bring it back for you."

"I had breakfast before coming."

"I see," Henry pursed his lips, "Then Mom, could you help take care of Ivy here for a bit? I have sothing urgent that I need to handle."

"Sure, go ahead."

Ivy pouted and looked at Henry, "Uncle, where are you going?"

"Going to take care of sothing. I’ll be back in two hours at the latest."

Hearing this, Ivy nodded, "Then go ahead."

After Henry left the ward, his mother-in-law followed him out, "Henry, wait a mont."

He turned to look at her, "Mom."

Ivy’s mother sighed lightly, "Henry, once you co back, we should talk.

There are so things I need to discuss with you."

"Okay, Mom, I’ll be back soon."

After leaving the hospital, Henry directly took a car to the company.

He first went to his father’s office, where Damian Sullivan was in a eting in the conference room.

After waiting for more than ten minutes and seeing that his father hadn’t returned, he simply rushed into the conference room.

As soon as he entered, the discussions in the room ceased imdiately, and it fell silent.

Damian looked at Henry, his expression a bit stern, "I’m in a eting right now."

"I’m not here for you. Have your secretary bring yesterday’s report."

Henry’s expression was calm. With the father and son talking, no one present dared to speak.

However, Manager Tan looked at Henry with so confusion. Yesterday’s report? Could it be the one she was supposed to write?

But what did this have to do with the young master?

Could it be... thinking of that possibility, Manager Tan’s face turned a bit green. No way...

Damian glanced at the secretary, who stood up and went out with Henry.

After handing him the report, the secretary returned to the eting room.

After Henry finished reading the report, Damian also ca back.

As soon as he entered the office, he saw Henry sitting in front of his desk.

"So, did you finish reading it?"

"How do you plan to handle this matter?"

Damian crossed his arms and sat down on the sofa, "I plan to let you take care of it."

"Let’s fire that Supervisor Liu. I don’t want Ivy to see her at the company again."

"Her work ability is decent, but unfortunately, her morals are rotten. I investigated, and it turns out Ivy’s claims are true. So, it’s no big loss to let her go."

Henry stood up, "Alright, let’s do that then. I need to get back to the hospital to be with Ivy."

"How’s Ivy doing today?"

"She’s good. Her spirits seem quite up."

"Take good care of her; she is the first heir of the Sullivan family after all. We can’t be careless."

Henry’s expression turned a bit grim, "You know this is not the first."

Damian sighed, "Have you not forgotten about the past yet? It’s ti to let it go."

"Letting go is possible, but how can I forget?

It was the Sullivan family that wronged Isla. Do I have the right to forget?"

After Henry finished speaking, his expression beca even grimr, "Yesterday, my mom called and told to divorce Ivy.

I hope this is the last ti she does this.

I’ve tolerated it for too long, and I’m not sure what I might do if she continues.

As her husband, I hope you can control your wayward wife. Stop trying to control , and don’t even think about controlling my life.

I hope she stays away from Ivy, the further the better. She shouldn’t affect Ivy’s mood."

Damian hesitated and nodded. After Henry left, Damian got up and picked up the phone to call Manager Tan in the Translation Departnt.

As soon as the call connected, Damian’s voice was stern, "This is Damian Sullivan. Have Supervisor Liu, who caused trouble yesterday, leave the company."

"Understood, Mr. President, I got it. I’ll handle it right away," Manager Tan imdiately understood. She wasn’t mistaken; Ivy Miller was Henry’s wife. Good heaven, there’s a big figure lying dormant in the Translation Departnt.

Fortunately, she never treated Ivy poorly before, or else... just the thought sent a chill down her spine.
