"What?" As soon as she heard soone was injured, Ivy Miller’s heart was in her throat.

She didn’t know if Henry Sullivan was okay.

Those young warriors were all in their twenties, their reflexes were probably better than her old comrade Henry’s, right?

"What about Captain George, is he alright?"

The warrior shook his head, "I’m not too sure either, just overheard them ntioning it while cooking.

But, sister-in-law, don’t worry too much, our captain has led rescue missions for many accidents.

He’s the most experienced person in our team."

Constant exposure to danger is inevitable, experience doesn’t an one has consud an elixir for protection.

"Oh, by the way, sister-in-law, I brought you a candle, let light it for you."

"Thank you."

After lighting the candle, the warrior took his leave, leaving Ivy Miller sitting alone on the sofa, watching the flickering candlelight, suddenly losing her appetite.

Her man, with his aging limbs, although he did show decent stamina when he bullied her in bed.

But who knows if he’d fall short in real life situations.

Forget it, she decided not to eat. She picked up the candle and headed back to the bedroom, but had taken only two steps when the candle blew out from the draft.

She wore a distressed expression, realizing that a candle was useless without a lighter.

She turned on her phone’s dim light and made her way back to the bed to sit down.

She dialed his number twice but got no answer, making her even more uneasy.

And just as misfortunes never co singly, her phone died at nine o’clock.

She really felt like crying.

In the pitch dark, lying on the bed, worried and scared, sleep was impossible.

She just lay there, truly, never in her life had she felt so lost, as if ti crawled.

Not knowing how much ti had passed, in a daze, she heard the door open.

She sat up and looked over, the bedroom door opened, and a beam of light stread in.

The light stung Ivy Miller’s eyes painfully, and she quickly turned her head away.

Dylan Moore’s voice ca, "Why are you still awake?"

"Uncle..." Ivy Miller was on the verge of tears. She turned to see him removing the headlamp and placing it on the table, brightening the room significantly.

Ivy Miller jumped off the bed, rushed over, and hugged him, "Uncle, you’re finally back. You scared to death."

Henry Sullivan was taken aback by her sudden hug, but hearing her tearful voice, he felt the girl was truly pitiful.

Living in a big city, how could she handle this environnt?

His hand wrapped around her waist and patted gently, "Alright, I’m back now, aren’t I?"

"Are you okay? I heard there was an accident and soone got hurt over there."

"Two warriors were injured by a tree blown over by the wind, but they’re only slightly injured and have been sent to the hospital.

Why are you still awake so late? Were you scared?"

"How could I not be scared? The wind outside was howling like ghosts and wolves. I was terrified every ti I closed my eyes."

"Didn’t I arrange for soone to bring you a candle?"

"I accidentally blew it out when I ca in.

I heard soone got hurt on your end. I called you, but you didn’t answer, and then my phone died.

I was worried about you and scared. I felt like I was going to die of anger, how could you guys be like this."

Worried? When Henry Sullivan heard that word, a warmth filled his heart.

Having a ho, a wife who worries about you, this kind of life is truly the best.
