Evie Larkin got out of the car at the company’s entrance, and they both entered the building separately.

She knew that Wendy didn’t want to have too much interaction with her on the surface.

So, she did not follow the car to the underground parking lot.

After Wendy went upstairs, Jane Quinlan was still taking her lunch break in Kay Forrest’s office.

She smirked and placed the juice on her desk.

After the lunch break, Jane Quinlan ca out of Kay Forrest’s office holding his cup to fetch water for him.

Wendy said, "You’re out?"

Jane Quinlan was startled for a mont; was she actually initiating a conversation with her?

It was like the sun rising from the west.

"Yeah," she replied and was about to head to the pantry.

Wendy pointed to her desk: "I went out for lunch today and saw this juice; it tasted good, so I brought you a cup."

Jane Quinlan was even more surprised. What’s the situation?

Wendy brought her juice? Surely she hadn’t woken up on the wrong side of the bed.

"Why are you looking at like that?"

"Ah? Oh, it’s nothing, thank you." Jane Quinlan said, taking the juice into the pantry.

Wendy felt sowhat uneasy.

After Jane Quinlan fetched water, she carried Kay Forrest’s cup and the juice back into his office.

She placed the cup in front of the lounging Kay Forrest: "Here’s your coffee."

"Thanks, my dear sweetie."

Jane Quinlan chuckled, sat down on the sofa, and since it wasn’t ti to start work and there was nothing urgent, she wasn’t in a hurry to leave.

She inserted the straw into the juice and took a sip, a fresh taste spreading in her mouth.

"Hmm, it’s really good."

"What’s that?" It was rare to hear her say sothing tasted really good.

Jane Quinlan stood up and placed the juice in front of him: "It’s the juice Wendy brought for when she ca back from lunch. It’s very refreshing, but it seems to have hawthorn in it.

Hawthorn isn’t good during the early stages of pregnancy, just drink it, don’t let it go to waste."

Kay Forrest tasted it, and indeed the flavor was quite special. Seeing the restaurant’s na and address on the cup, Kay Forrest said, "Aloe Restaurant? Is it new? How co I’ve never noticed it before.

Since you like the juice from this place, I’ll take you there for dinner tonight."

Jane Quinlan nodded: "Sounds good."

She looked at her watch; it was past one. "I’m heading out, to keep up appearances."

"Go ahead."

After Jane Quinlan ca out, Wendy noticed that she didn’t carry the juice cup with her.

She curiously asked, "Didn’t you drink the juice?"

Jane Quinlan thought, if she let her know that she hadn’t drunk it, surely she would feel disdained and uppity.

She smiled: "I did, it was really nice, sour and sweet, very refreshing, thank you."

"No problem," Wendy eyed her face, wondering if allergic reactions took a long ti to manifest?

Wendy was extrely anxious that afternoon.

She glanced at Jane Quinlan from ti to ti.

At first, Jane Quinlan did not notice anything amiss.

But as Wendy looked over more often, Jane naturally beca aware.

After holding back for so ti, Jane eventually couldn’t stand it and asked, "Wendy, do you have sothing to say to ?"

"No."

"No?" Jane Quinlan scratched her brow.

She definitely felt there was sothing.

Until the end of the workday, Jane Quinlan didn’t show any signs of abnormality.

Wendy was filled with fury; this Evie Larkin, were her words ever reliable?

Was she being deceived?

But that didn’t seem right. If Evie Larkin deceived her, she wouldn’t gain anything from it either.

Kay Forrest walked out of the office, interrupting Wendy’s thoughts, and she quickly stood up.

"Director Forrest."

"Let’s call it a day," he said, motioning to Jane Quinlan, "Let’s go have dinner."

Jane Quinlan picked up her bag and left with him.

After they departed, Wendy pulled out her phone to call Evie Larkin.

"There were no allergic reactions, Jane Quinlan is perfectly fine."

"Are you sure she drank the juice?"

Once Evie Larkin ntioned it, Wendy also beca uncertain.

She pushed open the door to Kay Forrest’s office, walked to the trash can, and shook the juice bottle.

"It’s empty."

"But that day at the Forrest Family, she clearly said so.

Not just , Director Forrest was also present."

Evie Larkin thought to herself, she wouldn’t possibly go and ask Director Forrest if that was true.

Wendy snorted, "Then that ans Jane Quinlan lied to you."

She’s really fine.

I’ve been paying attention to her all afternoon, and there was no allergic reaction at all.

Forget it, I’m done talking to you, I’m off work now, hanging up."

As she spoke, she walked towards the office door of Kay Forrest, intending to leave for ho.

But just as she pulled the door open, she saw Jane Quinlan standing at the entrance.

She was truly startled, clutching her heart as she looked at her: "You... What are you doing here?"

"Who were you talking to on the phone?"

Wendy snorted coldly: "None of your business."

"Did you give the juice because you wanted to see have an allergic reaction?"

She knew this Wendy wouldn’t be so kind-hearted.

Just giving her drinks for no reason.

But who on earth could it be, colluding with her to harm ?

Luckily, I didn’t actually have an allergic reaction, or else my baby...

Thinking of this, her hand instinctively caressed her belly.

She glared at her through gritted teeth: "Are you even human?"

Wendy snorted again coldly: "Didn’t you co out of it fine?

Stop being so lodramatic, is it worth it?"

", lodramatic? You’re trying to harm and you’re saying I’m being lodramatic?

I swear I’ve never done anything to hurt you.

Yet you treat like this, do you even have a conscience?"

A flicker of unease passed through Wendy’s eyes.

She snorted and walked past Jane Quinlan: "I don’t have ti to argue with people like you."

Having said that, she quickly grabbed her purse from the desk and left.

Jane Quinlan clenched her fists tightly. Had she not co back for her forgotten scarf, she feared she would never know how she could have died.

She had always thought she could endure, but now she realized that endurance was futile.

Because Wendy’s actions could harm her baby at any mont.

She had to tell Kay Forrest about this.

She believed that once Kay found out, he would definitely punish Wendy, maybe even fire her from the company.

Thinking of this, she suddenly felt a surge of schadenfreude.

She picked up her scarf and walked towards the exit.

But after a few steps, she stopped as if sothing occurred to her.

No, that’s not right, Wendy has an accomplice now.

It seems that person told Wendy about her allergy to that particular juice.

Who could it be? Evie Larkin?

No, how would Evie Larkin know what she’s allergic to, she clearly never had food allergies before.

She needed to investigate thoroughly and handle this group that wanted to harm her all at once.

Taking a breath, she arrived at the elevator, where Kay was still waiting for her.

She pursed her lips into a smile and stepped forward, locking arms with Kay: "Hm? Didn’t see Wendy?

Didn’t she just leave as well?"

"She said she’s trying to lose weight, took the stairs."

Jane Quinlan smiled at Kay Forrest, but inside she sneered with disdain – lose weight? More like, she’s feeling guilty, right?

After descending the stairs, Kay drove her to the address of Aloe Restaurant that she had seen on the paper cup at lunch.

The restaurant wasn’t large, but its decoration was very elegant and fresh.

Given its aloe the, all the decorations were also based on aloe.

After entering, a waiter ca up to take their order.

Kay quickly glanced over the nu before handing it to Jane Quinlan.

"Take a look and see which dish looks the least nauseating."

Jane Quinlan briefly flipped through the nu: "This restaurant seems to have food suitable for pregnant won, nothing too spicy or stimulating."

Upon hearing that, the waiter imdiately asked: "Ma’am, are you pregnant?"

Jane Quinlan smiled with her lips pursed and nodded: "Yes."

"Oh, then I’m very sorry, but our food is not suitable for pregnant won.

Since it’s made with aloe, it can cause bleeding in the internal organs in the pelvic area and stimulate uterine contractions for pregnant won, which in severe cases could lead to miscarriage."

The waiter said this while closing the nu to show Jane Quinlan, with the words ’Not Suitable for Pregnant Won’ clearly displayed on it.

Jane Quinlan looked at it and felt a cold sweat forming on her back.

Thinking about the juice this afternoon, Jane Quinlan suddenly realized that the other party’s goal was not as simple as causing her an allergy.

Wendy didn’t know she was pregnant, so she couldn’t have thought of using aloe juice to harm her.

Today’s drink contained not only aloe but also hawthorn, both of which are not good for won in early pregnancy.

Wendy might not know, but the other person must have known.

With this thought, Jane Quinlan clenched her fists tightly – it must be Evie Larkin.
