Jane Quinlan sat down at her desk huffing and puffing.
Her mood took a long ti to settle.
She disliked her current work environnt, which was already exhausting from the mont she started working at the new company.
And now she had to deal with Nolan Moore, who seed to pick on her whenever he felt like it.
She was here to work, not to be irritated.
At lunchti, when Nolan Moore ca out of his office, Jane didn’t look up or acknowledge him in the slightest.
Nolan Moore approached her desk with a hug: "Work’s over, ti for lunch."
"I know."
"That’s the attitude you’re using to talk to ?"
Jane looked up at him: "Or should I prostrate before you and say, ’Master, I am aware’?"
Seeing her disgruntled expression, Nolan Moore couldn’t be bothered with her and simply turned to leave.
Jane flipped open the rulebook to study.
Kay Forrest called her on the phone, asking her to go out for lunch.
Jane, not in the best of moods: "I won’t go, just head out by yourself."
"What happened? Did soone bully you?"
"No."
"Then why do you sound so grumpy when you talk?"
Jane bit her lip, her eyes filled with frustration: "Really, it’s nothing. Go have lunch. We’ll eat together in the evening. I’m morizing the rulebook now."
After she finished, she hung up the phone.
Kay Forrest, puzzled, stared at his phone for a while before standing up and heading down to the 17th floor.
The employees of the Advertisent Departnt were startled to see him, standing up respectfully, waiting for orders.
Kay Forrest raised an eyebrow: "Is your Director Moore here?"
"Director Forrest, Director Moore has just gone out for lunch."
"Is that so?" Kay pondered for a mont: "Well then, you guys should go eat if it’s ti for lunch, and get busy if you have work. I’ll wait for him in his office."
He then turned and walked down the corridor.
Jane, who was sipping tea while reading the rulebook, heard footsteps but did not even glance up.
She thought Nolan Moore had co back.
Even when soone stood in front of her desk, she didn’t pay any attention.
"This focused?"
Hearing the voice, Jane abruptly looked up at him, her face filled with surprise.
"You..."
"Shh... Go outside and pour a cup of coffee to bring into the office, and don’t let them catch on."
"Oh..." Jane rose to her feet and walked out to the pantry.
Soone standing by the door asked her, "Jane, what is Director Forrest doing here?"
Jane shook her head: "I don’t know. He said he wanted to see Director Moore, and asked to make him coffee."
She quickly made the coffee and returned to the office.
She set down the coffee, her face still showing traces of shock: "Why did you co down here? What if you’re discovered?"
"I said I wanted to see Nolan, who’s going to notice?
They’re all blockheads, don’t worry."
As he said this, he stretched out his long arm, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her into his embrace.
Jane sat on his lap, looking sowhat flustered: "Hey, don’t do this. What if soone cos in?"
"Who would dare to co in when I’m here?"
"Nolan would."
"He’s gone to eat. It will be a while before he’s back. Don’t worry.
Co on, let kiss you first."
He said this as he already hooked her shoulder, lowered her body, and kissed the corner of her lips.
Jane was initially a bit timid.
But before long, she was subdued by him.
When his hand began to rove over her body, Jane slapped his hand away.
"Don’t get frisky. This is soone else’s office."
"Then how about you co to my office instead?"
"What kind of joke is that, you old lecher."
She moved away from him and stood up: "If there’s nothing else, you better head back quickly."
"What do you an ’nothing else’? I’ve co to pick you up for lunch."
Jane frowned: "I really don’t want to eat."
"That’s not okay. If you don’t eat, I’m not leaving."
With no choice, Jane had to give in.
"Then I’ll go wait for you in the underground parking lot first. Co down in five minutes."
"Alright."
Jane turned and walked away.
Kay Forrest smiled cunningly to himself, thinking that there was no way she would skip lunch without him noticing.
Jane first went to the underground parking lot and got in the car.
In just three minutes, Kay Forrest ca down as well.
Since they were going to eat together, they had to pick a place a little further away from the company.
During the al, seeing how she had no appetite, Kay knew she must have sothing on her mind today.
"What’s the matter? Who bullied you after all?"
Jane gave him a look but remained silent.
"Did that Nolan target you again?"
Jane looked at him seriously: "Focus on your own work, and don’t pry into these matters."
"Look at you, such an ungrateful woman.
I’m just worried about you being wronged."
Jane raised her brows in defiance: "Wronged? That won’t happen again."
