Jane Quinlan bit her lip; damn, she was speechless again.

"What if I don’t agree?"

"This is part of the assistant’s job, and if you don’t agree, I can’t keep my mouth shut.

What if I accidentally spill your secret to soone else... Don’t bla ."

She raised her hand and pinched his arm: "Are you threatening ?"

"Exactly, so do you agree or not?"

He pointed to the dining table: "Honestly, the food you cook really agrees with my stomach.

I’m not usually one to make such unreasonable demands.

Seeing you in such a dilemma, how about this, you cook for and I’ll let you live rent-free, how does that sound?"

"Really?" she looked at him with wide eyes.

"Psh, it’s just a little money, why would I lie to you?"

Jane Quinlan’s eyes rolled as she raised her eyebrows: "Where do you live? If it’s far, you have to reimburse for the travel expenses."

Kay Forrest smirked: "Co on, I’ll take you to see my place, then you can decide if it’s near or far."

With that, he grabbed her wrist and started heading out.

Jane Quinlan pulled back: "Wait a second, let change my clothes, this skirt is too short."

"No need, everyone saw you in a much worse state yesterday, you look perfectly fine now."

After he said that, Jane Quinlan just glared at him, but he really didn’t care and directly pulled her out of the house.

He didn’t take her to the elevator, but walked to the opposite door instead.

Just as Jane Quinlan was about to ask what they were doing here, he had already started pressing the code on the door’s keypad.

Jane Quinlan was stunned: "You... you live here?"

Kay Forrest looked at her with a sly smile, pulling her into the house.

As she entered, she couldn’t help but be surprised: "This place... it’s almost the sa as mine."

"I bought the entire 26th floor; the decor and materials used are all the sa. I hadn’t originally planned on living here."

"You renovated without planning to live here?" She felt this guy must be out of his mind.

"Who says you can’t decorate if you’re not living in it? I like seeing my property looking nice."

"So why are you living here now?"

Kay Forrest’s brow lifted slightly, yeah... he himself couldn’t figure it out.

"I’ll start living in this house from tonight, but I won’t cook here, the food will be prepared at your place, I hate the sll of cooking oil."

Jane Quinlan rolled her eyes at him, doesn’t she hate it too?

But... since it’s rent-free living, she could save quite a bit of money each month.

Cooking so als, tolerating the sll of oil isn’t much, as she’d have to do it anyway.

People need to be adaptable, for the sake of money, endure it.

"How about that, the distance isn’t far, right?"

Jane Quinlan nodded: "Okay then, it’s settled."

She looked at her wristwatch: "It’s almost 1 o’clock, aren’t you going to work at the newspaper?

I’m off today, are you taking a day off too?"

"I’m not that lucky," he said as he walked out.

She followed him out and said: "Lock the door."

"No need, just close it properly, rember the code, 0910, my birthday. Just tidy up and take the key when you’re done.

I’m off to the office; you rest."

Tidy up? Her? Jane Quinlan stood there, tidying up for him, how could that be considered resting?

This bastard, he really plans everything to a tee.

What a cunning businessman, huh.

She turned back to her apartnt and after rolling up her sleeves and looking around, she realized... it’s actually quite clean.

She walked into the bathroom and peered around; it seed like nobody usually lived here.

But last night he must have slept here.

Probably because of her.

With that thought, she genuinely started cleaning up for him.

Consider it compensation for being molested by her last night.

Ever since this co-living started, Jane Quinlan realized that Kay Forrest was really not easy to serve.

He obviously can’t cook but still likes to order als.

He wants braised pork today, eggplant stewed with catfish tomorrow, and sweet and sour ribs the day after tomorrow.

If her cooking skills weren’t good, she really wouldn’t be able to serve a picky man like Kay Forrest.

On a Sunday morning, while she was still sleepily in bed, suddenly her phone started wailing beside her ear.

She really wanted to gulp down that phone out of irritation.

Without even looking, she answered the phone: "Hello..."

Her voice was so groggy that she began to doubt her own existence.

"Jane, you’re so lazy; why are you still sleeping?"

Jane Quinlan squinted at her phone and then exclaid in surprise: "Brother?"

"Of course it’s ; aren’t you awake yet?"

Jane Quinlan sat up: "You’re back?"

"You knew I was coming back?"
