At 2 PM, a delayed Kay Forrest finally appeared at the Anchester Bus Station, four hours behind schedule.

He had passed this bus station countless tis, but it was definitely the first ti he’d be taking a bus.

He wanted to go to the Smoke City Scenic Area but was too lazy to drive himself, so he searched online for a guide and found taking the bus was the most convenient.

Recently, he had been quite lazy, even too lazy to drive, so he decided to enjoy a pleasant bus ride.

As soon as he got out of the taxi, he raised his hand to adjust his new hairstyle.

Going on a trip ans welcoming the journey with a fresh hairstyle.

Most importantly, he was always ready for a new wave of romantic encounters.

Just as he stepped onto the steps, a woman suddenly rushed out from the right and grabbed his arm.

"Mr. Wood, why are you only just getting here? I’ve been waiting for half an hour, the bus is about to leave, and I thought you ran off with my money."

Kay Forrest looked at her with a thoroughly baffled expression.

Mr. Wood? Ran off? This woman...

Before he could say anything, the woman looked at her watch: "Oh no, there’s no ti, let’s go, we’ll talk in detail on the bus."

Kay Forrest wondered for a mont, Mr. Wood?

"Miss, are you..."

"Yes, yes, I am, I’m Jane Quinlan, stop dawdling and follow , the bus is about to leave, and it’s the last bus today.

I can’t believe it, you’re such a dawdler for a grown man."

With that, she forcefully dragged him by the arm, taking him inside to check tickets and board the bus.

Timing was just right, they barely got settled in their seats before the door closed, and the bus set off.

Jane Quinlan breathed a huge sigh of relief, thankful they made it.

She turned to him, pouting: "You really have no sense of ti at all.

If you worked in an office, you’d definitely be late often.

Your boss must really have a hard ti dealing with you."

Kay Forrest raised an eyebrow, gave a charming, devilish smile, and looked at the woman before him.

She wore a white blouse, a very straight black skirt, and white canvas shoes.

Hair... hmm, no hairstyle to speak of, it was really hard to watch.

If it weren’t for her barely passable pretty face, he’d definitely be upset by now.

How could there be a woman in this world so careless about her appearance?

Or was it that he was used to seeing uninhibited won abroad, and suddenly found this well-behaved woman hard to handle?

That couldn’t be right. The brat, Faye Townsend, was also always well-behaved, but she had to be a sight to behold.

Faye always said he was a male animal that even picked whether animals were male or female.

But today, the one before him didn’t stir any desire.

He shook his head with a mocking smile.

"What are you laughing at? Forget it, I’m not going to argue over it.

I won’t hold a grudge over such trivial matters.

So, the journey will take roughly five hours, during which we should go over the script together."

Kay Forrest crossed his arms: "Script?"

"Yes, didn’t I say before? We play our roles according to the script I’ve set.

I’m Jane Quinlan... well, you know this.

I’m 23, born on September 4th, and we work for the sa company. You were my senior during college, and we’ve known each other for two years.

A year ago at the company New Year’s party, you pursued .

You are from a scholarly family, your parents are teachers, your family is well-off, and you have a house and a car in Anchester.

But you want to buy a house on your own rit, so we plan to marry in two years.

Oh, and yes, we live together."

Kay Forrest seed to understand what kind of farce this was.

It was really interesting; how bad was this woman that she needed to hire soone to pretend to be her boyfriend?

He smirked, "Emphasizing living together?"

He looked her up and down... uh, really not appealing.

"Of course, my parents are worried I won’t get married, constantly saying I lack charm.

I need to show them I’m capable through my actions."

Jane Quinlan said this with a very serious expression.

Kay Forrest couldn’t help but chuckle.

So, there was a type of woman who proved her worth like this.

It really opened his eyes.

"What are you laughing at?

Hey, Mr. Wood, I’m your employer now, even if you don’t quite like , when you look at , it should be with affection.

The look you gave just now won’t cut it.

My dad’s eyes are keen; you better watch out, or he’ll see through you, and then you’d be breaching the contract."

Kay Forrest raised his eyebrows, "Miss, I think you’ve got the wrong person."

Jane Quinlan blinked her big eyes at him and suddenly chuckled.

She raised her hand, giving his arm a hard slap, which actually hurt Kay Forrest.

This wasn’t the usual gentle teasing he experienced from won.

"Didn’t expect you to have a sense of humor.

Stop kidding, I know, maybe I’m not exactly what you imagined...

But we’re just acting, not for real.

And besides, you already took the three thousand bucks; if you back out now, what should I do?

My mom even invited my entire extended family over.

If you don’t co with now, I can only..."

"You’ve really got the wrong person? My last na isn’t Wood, it’s Forrest.

Today, I planned to go to Smoke City."

What? Thunder struck on a clear day.

She suddenly stood and shouted on the bus, "Then why did you get on the bus with ?"

Everyone around turned their gaze towards them.

Kay Forrest didn’t mind much: "Weren’t you the one who dragged on board?"

"But... but you could have shaken off."

"Very difficult, you’re by far the strongest woman I’ve t."

Jane Quinlan, feeling annoyed, put her hand to her forehead.

How was she this unlucky?

It was one thing to grab the wrong person, but to be humiliated as well...

"You... why didn’t you tell I had the wrong person as I dragged you on board?"

"From when you grabbed to getting on the bus, it was about three minutes, and your mouth never stopped talking, I didn’t have a chance."

"So... it’s my fault," she pointed at her own nose.

Kay Forrest gave an innocent smile: "Can’t be my fault."

"Where did that Mr. Wood go?

Oh heavens, I transferred money to him, I can’t have been scamd, right?"

She sat back down looking as if a teor had struck her head, completely dazed.

Three thousand bucks for a tall, handso man, a month’s basic pay.

Should she just die for a mont?

She turned to look at him, and since she already got the wrong person, maybe...

"Uh, Mr. Forrest..."

"Forrest, with a third tone, like in ’fruit’."

Jane Quinlan silently fud inside, geez, such fussiness.

"Alright, Mr. Forrest, since you’re already on the bus, could you do a favor?

I hired a boyfriend to go ho and et my parents, but as you can see, I... oops... seem to have been scamd.

Can you..."

"No."

Jane Quinlan pouted and played pitiful: "Saving a life is more ritorious than building a seven-story pagoda, if you don’t help now, I’ll definitely lose face with my parents when I go ho.

Then I surely couldn’t go on living, and then I’d have no choice but to jump into a river.

If I die, my parents surely can’t go on living either, so..."

"What’s it got to do with ?"

Jane Quinlan’s face stiffened, cold, she retracted her poor attempt at acting cute and crossed her arms.

"Alright then, I’ll pay you like a top host."

Top host? Kay Forrest crossed his arms with a mischievous smile, interesting.

"You know how much they charge?"

"The company I initially contacted online said a top host was three thousand a day.

I thought it was too expensive, didn’t have the heart to hire one, so I booked a five-hundred-a-day one, seven days, got a discount to three thousand.

So, if you act with for three days, I’ll give you nine thousand, no need to discount for anymore."

"So, you actually hired a host to bring ho to et your parents?"

"Well... it’s because hosts are all good looking."

"Tsk tsk tsk, truly filial," Kay Forrest nodded, smirking.

It sounded quite fun after all.

"Alright, deal."

Jane Quinlan exhaled in relief, leaning back slightly: "Imnse gratitude goes without saying."

"The script needs so tweaking."

"Huh?" Jane Quinlan turned to him, thinking she spent so much money and she still had to let him guide it all.

"I co from a scholarly family, my mom was a teacher, but she has passed away, my dad is in business.

What do you do for work?"

"I’m a training lecturer at a newspaper, specializing in training new employees."

Kay Forrest nodded, arms crossed: "Alright, so what profession do you want to be in?"

"It’d be best if you’re a teacher."

"Joking, that’s the job I hate most, just say I work at Skyward Group as a head of the procurent departnt."

"Huh?"

"Rember it, don’t get it mixed up."

Jane Quinlan blinked: "Alright."

For no apparent reason, Jane Quinlan felt like the one who boarded a pirate ship wasn’t Mr. Forrest, but her?

After more than an hour of travel, Jane Quinlan had fallen asleep on the bus, nodding off and finally resting her head on his shoulder amidst the bumps.

Kay Forrest glanced sideways at her, tsk, that sleeping visage really was unattractive, though her eyelashes... were quite long.

At 7:15, the bus finally pulled into the Rongford Station.

Kay Forrest decided never to take a bus again; the experience was not as enjoyable as expected, exhausting his back.

He missed the comfort of a first-class seat.

Jane Quinlan yawned as she got off the bus to fetch her luggage.

She had two suitcases and four or five small bags, amazing how a woman could carry so much.

It was truly remarkable.

After getting off, he headed towards the exit to grab a cab.

Jane Quinlan stood by the bus with her pile of luggage, shouting at his back: "Hey, Mr. Forrest, where are you going, help with the luggage."

Kay Forrest turned back, surprised: "Move luggage? ?"

Jane Quinlan walked up to him and pulled him back to the baggage: "From now on, you have to get into character, you’re my boyfriend, right, what’s your na?"

"Kay Forrest."

"Oh, Kay, got it. Co on, lend a hand."

Kay Forrest got goosebumps all over; he was beginning to regret it.
