"Sean’s here." As soon as she finished speaking, she stood up and directed her gaze at Clara, who was by Sean Lennox’s side, giving her a warm smile. "You’re Clara, right?"

Clara froze for a mont. "Uh... Hello."

She felt a little awkward. The director of the Civil Affairs Bureau actually knew her.

"Aunt, stop staring. If you keep looking, you’re going to make my wife blush."

Aunt? Clara turned her head sharply to look at him in surprise. This director was his aunt?

Sean Lennox casually wrapped an arm around Clara’s shoulder and addressed her, "Clara, let introduce you. This is my aunt—my actual aunt."

Feeling a bit flustered, Clara bowed slightly. "Hello, Aunt."

"Hello, hello! Sean has ntioned you so many tis.

I never thought this kid would be so lucky, actually managing to marry you."

Clara smiled shyly. It was her who was lucky, wasn’t it?

Sean Lennox seed to have a pretty decent relationship with his family.

"Alright, Clara, hand over your ID card and household registration. Let my aunt get us registered."

"What’s the rush, you rascal? Take your wife to get your wedding photo taken first."

Since the aunt wasn’t too busy, she personally accompanied them to get the photos done.

The marriage registration process turned out to be simpler than they had imagined. Just a few bucks, and the two of them were officially husband and wife.

When the bright red marriage certificate was handed to her, Clara suddenly felt a sense of responsibility and obligation deep in her heart.

Sean Lennox took her to the designated area for oath-taking and wedding photos. From now on, she could officially call herself married.

Since Clara had work in the morning and needed to return to the office, Sean’s aunt refrained from keeping them any longer.

Before they left, Sean’s aunt repeatedly reminded him to quickly bring his new wife ho to et his grandfather and parents.

They were getting impatient.

After leaving the Civil Affairs Bureau, Clara turned to look at him. "So, this ans we’re officially married?"

"Yes. Starting now, you’re mine, and I’m yours, my dear wife."

Hearing "my dear wife," Clara still felt a bit unreal.

"Your family customs are so strange. You can actually get married first and then et your daughter-in-law afterward?"

"Didn’t I tell you? My family is very open-minded. As long as it’s soone I like, no one will stand in the way."

He spoke while raising his arm to pull her closer by the shoulder. "Alright, let drive you to work first. You still need to clock in, don’t you?"

Clara pointed to her car. "No need. I brought my driver with . I’ll go with him, so you don’t have to detour."

"Taking my own wife sowhere is never a detour."

Clara chuckled. "Anyway, not today. My head feels a little overheated; I need so ti to cool down."

"Is it because you suddenly beca a married woman and you’re not used to it?"

"Are you used to it?"

"From the mont I found out about your existence, I’ve been looking forward to this day. So yes, I’m very used to it."

"You should pack your things tonight; I’ll co to pick you up and take you ho."

"Ho?" Clara looked at him, her eyes drifting slightly.

"Yes, to our ho."

Clara hesitated for a mont before nodding. "Alright."

After exchanging glances for another mont, Clara felt awkward again and gestured toward her car. "Then... I’ll head out now."

Sean Lennox stepped forward to open the car door for her. "Call when you arrive."

"Alright."

He shut the car door, and the driver drove her away from the Civil Affairs Bureau.

As the car rged onto the main road, she turned her head to watch Sean Lennox, who stood there watching her leave. A wave of warmth spread through her heart.

Call him when she arrived.

She suddenly felt like a woman with soone who truly cared about her. This... actually felt pretty good.

Sean Lennox gradually faded from view. Clara took out her marriage certificate from her bag and opened it.

In the photo, her expression looked slightly stiff, but Sean Lennox wore a very natural smile.

Although this marriage didn’t begin on entirely equal footing, she could sense a glimr of hope.

Being with a man like this—maybe the rest of her life wouldn’t be so bad.

Upon reaching the company, Clara didn’t go straight to her office. Instead, she sought out Oliver Turner.

But the secretary inford her that Oliver was absent due to other commitnts.

She nodded slightly and turned back toward her office. Sitting at her desk, she stared blankly for quite so ti before finally diving into work.

At noon, she called Faye Townsend.

When Clara’s call ca through, Faye sounded a bit giddy. "Clara, how was today?"

Hearing Faye’s voice, Clara’s eyes welled up for no apparent reason. "I got married. Hurry up and congratulate ."

"Haha, congratulations, darling."

Clara blinked hard, squeezing tears out of her eyes.
