He reclined the seat to make her as comfortable as possible before driving to the hospital.
Tonight, Roman Hughes wasn’t on duty at the hospital, so he wasn’t there.

Her hand was securely held by another warm, large hand. Smiling warmly, she looked down at Hunter, exhausted and sleeping, slumped over the bed.
She moved slightly, intending to change her position to see him better.
But Hunter gripped her hand tightly and suddenly sat up.
Seeing she was awake, he placed his hand on her forehead: "Awake? How are you feeling? More comfortable?"
Faye looked at him warmly: "I’m fine. Why did you sit here and sleep? Why not sleep over there?"
"I feared I would be too comfortable over there and wouldn’t know when you woke up."
Faye felt a twinge of emotion: "You had a rough night."
"I had to; you must not eat those roadside stalls anymore.
