Faye Townsend rolled her eyes at him. Was he really discussing this with her? Clearly, he had already made arrangents and was just informing her.
After going downstairs, Faye initially planned to get in the car, but Hunter Warren blocked her way.
"Is it that I hold your hand as we take a walk together,
or do you co along for a walk on your own initiative?"
Seeing Faye hesitate, Hunter continued, "You just ate quite a bit, it’s a good ti to walk it off."
"After finally eating so much, why would I walk it off? Isn’t that a waste?"
Hunter laughed out loud; this is quintessential Faye.
"Let’s go." He didn’t try to persuade her further, just took her hand and started to walk.
Faye pulled her hand away: "Alright, alright, I’ll walk by myself. That’s fine, right?"
She didn’t like being manipulated to do his bidding.
But she understood him; if she didn’t walk with him,
he would actually hold her hand and make her walk with him.
It’s more comfortable to walk as she pleases now.
Switzerland is one of the few countries that advocates for peace.
She liked peace and enjoyed this serene and elegant atmosphere.
"Lucia wasn’t wrong. This environnt is indeed nice.
Look, there are so many people out for a night run. Want to race ?"
"Just walking now, I feel like my soul is trembling.
No way I’m running; I fear my soul might fly out, and I can’t catch it."
Hunter laughed: "How did you beco so lazy?
Weren’t you the kind, smart, and industrious little Miya?
In the past, you always wanted to race as soon as you saw the track."
Faye’s lips curled into a slight smile, yes, back then, back then...
Hunter liked morning runs, and she really wanted to join him.
That way, she could spend more ti with him each day.
But she also liked to sleep in, so getting up in the morning was always difficult.
Even with an alarm set, she’d find every excuse to avoid waking up early.
Ever since she made a rule for herself to join morning runs, in a whole year, she could count on both hands how many tis she actually joined him.
Because simple running was so dull, whenever she did show up, she had to race him.
The loser had to do sothing for the winner, though nothing excessive.
For instance, asking him to leave was not allowed.
And every ti they raced, she would lose miserably.
Moreover, after running each ti, her legs would shake for days.
She was lazy, never even participating in school sports ets normally.
Deciding to run with him took a lot of inner convincing on her part.
The last ti she ran with him, they didn’t race; she just accompanied him.
The reason being, every ti Hunter won, he’d make her run errands.
Today it would be the stead buns from Easttown and sauced beef from Westtown.
Tomorrow it would be Pearl atballs from Northtown and Abalone Porridge from Southtown.
A bet is a bet, but each ti she bought breakfast during the rush hour, he’d eat it as lunch.
So the last ti, she used a strategy.
While running, as soon as Hunter sped up a little, she’d coquettishly ask him to carry her.
They say there’s always soone who can ta soone else, and Hunter couldn’t win against her antics, so he’d slow down and run at her pace.
And she would keep chattering in his ear as they ran.
"Seriously, I’m not lying to you, night runs are better than morning ones. I’m speaking with reason, because I’ve looked into it.
You see, plants, at night, don’t have light for photosynthesis, so they absorb oxygen and release carbon dioxide.
So when you wake up in the morning, it’s when the carbon dioxide level is the highest in the air.
At that ti, even opening the windows is not good.
But during the day, with light, photosynthesis occurs; plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. This ti after sunset is when the oxygen concentration in the air is at its best.
So, going for a run at this ti is best for you."
Hunter laughed as he ran, "To get to change my running routine and accommodate your habit of sleeping in, you’ve done so impressive howork."
He ran, then paused to look at her.
At that mont, Faye’s legs were about to give up on her.
"What? I’m not that kind of person. I’m a kind, smart, hard-working little Miya.
I have principles, and if I say this, it’s entirely for your health."
"You’re certainly smart, but as for the rest..." Hunter smirked mischievously and continued running.
Faye jumped up to catch up: "Am I not kind? Am I not hard-working?
You, how can you deny established facts?"
Hunter couldn’t be happier and laughed, but since then, he actually did change his running schedule.
Whether it was to accommodate her or for his own health is anyone’s guess.
After reminiscing about the past, Faye’s brow furrowed slightly: "The past is the past. Unfortunately, while flowers bloom again, youth does not return. I’ve co too far to go back."
Hunter suddenly grabbed her wrist, and Faye was spun back into his arms.
She looked at him, startled: "What is it?"
"Really can’t go back?"
Faye frowned: "Do you really think we can go back?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Hunter leaned forward and pressed his lips gently and tenderly against hers, enveloping her in an affectionate kiss.
