Faye Townsend lifted her gaze to look out the window. After a night of rain, the sky at this mont was breathtakingly beautiful.
Once she made up her mind, there were so things that needed to be done thoroughly.
There was a saying that Oliver Turner got right, "Hesitation in cutting ties will lead to chaos."
She had been... muddled for too long. It was ti to wake up.
Roman Hughes glanced at his phone in a daze, then turned to look at Hunter Warren, who was lying in bed receiving an IV, with a furrowed brow.
"What’s wrong? What did she say?
Is there sothing I should know?"
Roman Hughes blinked and after a long pause asked, "Did you know Faye Townsend is planning to file for divorce in court?"
"What?" Hunter Warren exclaid, "That woman..."
"It seems Faye Townsend is really determined to leave you.
Turns out, when a woman is ruthless, she’s more ruthless than a man.
What are you going to do, just let her be and drag it out until she divorces you?"
"She can dream on." Hunter Warren shot him a glare, "You wasted a call.
She thinks Zenia Yates is pregnant with my child, and she’s angry."
"I was just trying to help you gain sympathy.
You’ve lived so long, dominating the business world, yet how do you end up like this with Faye Townsend?
Back in the day, you were quite a catch."
"Enough, enough, stop talking. You’re making things worse, hurry and leave, let be alone to think."
Roman Hughes grinned, "Don’t be too pessimistic.
Think about it, if she’s jealous, it proves she still cares about you, right?"
"Achoo." Hunter Warren sneezed and coughed twice.
Roman Hughes laughed, "You’re silly. Your house is next door. Why not go in, get so sleep, and then block her.
At your age, doing such childish things.
Got a fever, being disliked, serves you right, if you did this ten years earlier, you’d have kids by now."
Hunter Warren shot him a sideways glance, "Stop with the sarcasm.
To avoid , she left for work two hours early this morning.
Luckily, I didn’t leave. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have caught her.
Besides, who could have predicted so many things would happen ten years later."
Roman Hughes tossed his phone onto the bedside table and crossed his arms, "So, what about liking Sebastian Sheldon back then?"
Hunter Warren’s face turned cold, "I see you like bringing up sore subjects. The past is the past, can’t you let it go?"
Roman Hughes chortled, "Don’t tell , tell that to Faye Townsend. If Faye turns the page, wouldn’t it be over imdiately?
But Hunter, let ask you... a rather difficult question.
Don’t get mad, I’m just asking casually.
If now, given a chance to choose again, between Sebastian Sheldon and Faye Townsend, whom would you choose?"
Hunter Warren glared at him, "Can’t you ask so normal, aningful questions?
Is this a question? It’s just nonsense."
"Tsk, I’m just curious.
Honestly, if I were you, I wouldn’t be able to choose either.
Haven’t you ever thought, maybe Sebastian Sheldon is not doing well and hopes to return to you."
Hunter Warren squinted at him, "Don’t you see the problem with your words.
And why bring up Sebastian Sheldon for no reason?"
Roman Hughes chuckled, "I’m just asking casually, don’t overthink it.
Isn’t this just a chat between us brothers? Two grown n together talking about won, otherwise how boring, and I’m not into your flavor, right?"
Hunter Warren rolled his eyes at him, "Alright, alright, leave, you’re annoying .
As a doctor, don’t you know the patient should rest more?"
"I see you’re too distracted by pangs of love to sleep, so I sacrificed my post-night shift rest ti to chat with you, alright.
Let tell you, it’s only because you’re my brother that I dare to ask you.
If you weren’t my brother, I wouldn’t bother with any of your business.
So tell , whom would you choose?"
Hunter Warren hesitated softly for a mont, "Faye."
Roman Hughes crossed his arms and smiled slyly, "Just as expected."
Hunter Warren glanced at him, "You’re really too boring."
"Hunter, truly, I often think about this question.
I used to think you’d choose Sebastian Sheldon.
Because you’re stubborn, even more than a mule.
I thought you wouldn’t care what your heart really felt, just stubbornly believing you wanted Sebastian Sheldon.
But ever since seeing your condition after Faye left, I’ve known you’re completely ensnared.
But I actually don’t understand why all these years you didn’t go find her."
Hunter Warren’s brow furrowed slightly as he looked upwards in silence.
The day Faye left, he had soone investigate her whereabouts.
The next day, he even bought a plane ticket, but was stopped at the airport by Timothy Forrest.
That day, Timothy Forrest had people pick him up and take him to a villa, where they talked for half an hour.
Old Forrest said, "Hunter, Faye was a child I watched grow up.
That child was always optimistic, every ti I saw her, I felt the world was really bright.
Actually, I’ve always wanted her as my daughter-in-law.
Unfortunately, my Kay Forrest doesn’t have that good fortune, Faye doesn’t see him as a man.
You’re lucky she fancied you, but you didn’t cherish her.
I don’t like either of the two boys from the Warren Family.
The elder is too sinister, you’re too ruthless.
But at least, you’re not bad by nature.
Yet, I didn’t expect you to hurt her so deeply.
Honestly, if it wasn’t for Faye stopping , I would want to knock so arrogance out of you.
Young people shouldn’t be so arrogant.
Hurting others this way, soday, karma will return to you.
See my leg? That’s karma."
He looked down at Timothy Forrest’s empty right leg.
"Now tell , what are you planning to do in Switzerland?"
"Old Forrest, we’re not divorced yet, I want to bring her back."
"And then, do you truly plan to tornt each other for a lifeti?"
Hunter Warren stayed silent with a frown.
"I can see your intentions in your eyes.
To love soone isn’t to express it this way.
If you believe my words are credible, then listen to .
Faye went to Switzerland to avoid you.
She’s emotionally exhausted now, she needs rest.
She contacted a school there, planning to start studying again.
Those years with you, others were growing and progressing, while she was treading in place.
If you still consider yourself human, with so humanness, on account of your father-in-law, do not disturb her.
Let her quietly gather herself, develop herself.
You should also bear the pain of losing the one you love.
Only by letting this pain seep deep into your bones, will the future encounter be t with true sincerity."
Seeing him remain silent, Roman Hughes patted his arm, "Buddy, is my question that hard to answer?"
Hunter Warren snapped out of it, looking at him and giving a bitter smile.
"Alright, alright, forget it, don’t answer that question.
Why didn’t you choose Sebastian Sheldon just now?
Is it because you don’t dare to choose, or have you truly let her go?
Over the years, have you worried about her well-being over there?"
Hunter Warren raised an eyebrow and smiled, "I’ve long forgotten when I stopped thinking about her.
Humans are indeed strange creatures.
I always thought the one I loved was Sebastian Sheldon, but when she left, I wasn’t as upset as I imagined."
Roman Hughes raised an eyebrow and smiled, "But when Faye left back then, you were in excruciating pain.
So, I’ve always said, you’ll fall into Faye’s hands one day.
Rember, you were still with Sebastian Sheldon then."
Hunter Warren looked at him, a smile tugging at his lips, "Sotis, I really admire you.
Back then, I truly only saw Faye as a sister.
How did you say sothing so against your nature."
"You might say she was like a sister on your lips, but in your heart, you didn’t treat her as a sister, did you?"
"Did I?"
"Of course you did, don’t you rember there was once the few of us having a al together.
Halfway through, Faye called you to ask where you were.
You told her our location.
I said Faye would definitely co over in a mont, and you said she wouldn’t.
Less than fifteen minutes later, she hailed a cab and ca over.
She even amusingly brought a love letter.
She said, ’Brothers, I have a joke for you, I received a hilariously funny love letter today, let read it to you.’
As she spoke, I turned to look at you, and saw half of your face was already dark.
Yet Faye didn’t notice, happily reading it, I still rember what was written on that love letter.
’You are my sunshine, you are my water.
Without you, I’m like a flower without sunshine, a fish without water.
I will wither, I will suffocate.
Faye, save , please be with .’
Hahaha."
Roman Hughes laughed, slapping his leg, "That love letter still cheers up when I’m in a bad mood now.
The university guy reportedly considered himself a poet.
We all laughed after hearing the love letter, especially Owen Lennon, he nearly sprayed his food out.
But only you wore a straight face, looking like soone owed you a fortune.
I rember you even asked Faye back then, ’Happy? Fun? At this age, not feeling embarrassed at all.’
That tone clearly was jealousy, wasn’t it.
The only thing that saved you was that Faye listened to you and imdiately tore the letter to pieces and threw it in the trash.
If it were , I’d recite it three tis in front of you daily to annoy you."
Hunter Warren recalled past events and pursed his lips into a smile too.
He rembered, that ti, he indeed felt a bit off inside.
Because Owen Lennon had just told him that such a girl as Faye would be pursued by many.
Beautiful looks, good figure, decent family, good character, simple, no scheming mind.
Being with such a girl was not only comfortable, but it would also elevate a person’s life quality.
So she must be very popular in school.
And not two days later, she brought that love letter to annoy him.
"Did I really do that?"
