"I could hear An Yang laughing from outside the door."
An Yang was holding her phone, ready to take a picture. Hearing the laughter of Hao Tian Queen outside the door, she quickly jumped out of Danton’s embrace.
Danton looked at her amusedly, "Why are you afraid of my mom?"
"I’m not afraid, it’s respect!" An Yang stood seriously and properly. Once Hao Tian Queen entered the room, she imdiately bowed, "Hello, Auntie!"
"Good, everything’s going well, thanks to you." Hao Tian Queen smiled affectionately, "Why aren’t you sitting down?"
"No candy yet!" Sang Yu stretched out her tiny hand.
An Yang laughed and reached into her pocket, pulling out a handful of candy, stuffing all ten or so pieces into Sang Yu’s small hand. "Go eat it with your brother. This candy doesn’t hurt your teeth; I specifically bought it for you both."
"Heehee... Thank you!" Sang Yu, realizing she couldn’t hold so many candies, pressed them against her chest. "Brother, co help !"
"Mom said no eating," Zi Yan pouted and walked over.
"Fine, then don’t eat; I’ll eat it myself." Sang Yu stubbornly headed toward the sofa, dropping a couple pieces of candy with each step she took. Seeing the candy falling, she grew anxious and pouted at her brother.
Zi Yan sighed like an old man, bent down, and started picking them up for his sister.
"You two eat less. Only one piece per day," Hao Tian Queen said with a helpless smile, pulling An Yang to sit down. "An Yang, didn’t you co with your brother?"
An Yang grinned and said, "We ca together, but he told not to co to the palace. So, as soon as we landed, I ditched him."
"You little rascal! You almost made him cry from worry. He’ll be here soon to deal with you!"
An Yang looked at Hao Tian Queen pitifully, "Auntie, you’ve got to save !"
Hao Tian Queen laughed and asked, "How can I save you?"
An Yang sniffled a bit, "Auntie, I’ll be honest with you. I didn’t tell my parents I was coming; I begged my brother to bring here. Also... Also, I skipped class to co. If my brother catches and takes back, I’ll be dood. My dad, with his temper, would break one of my legs, and my mom—she could snap in half with one hand."
"Then don’t leave, just stay here. This way, no one can hit you." Yi Luowa walked over, carrying Zi Xi.
The two little ones busy eating their candy quickly tucked the candy into their coats upon seeing their mom.
Yi Luowa glanced at them but said nothing.
Zi Yan and Sang Yu exchanged a glance and covered their mouths, giggling quietly.
An Yang stood up, laughing, "Sister Luowa, is this your third child?"
"Yes, his na is Zi Xi," Yi Luowa replied with a smile and walked closer.
"Let see... Why does he look so much like Pretty Brother? He’s so tiny and adorable!"
"Give Zi Xi, so you can sit and chat," Hao Tian Queen said with a smile, taking her grandson.
An Yang followed closely behind. After Hao Tian Queen sat down, she cautiously touched Zi Xi’s chubby little cheek. "Luowa Sister’s kids—each one more beautiful than the last!"
"Hey!" Danton nudged An Yang’s foot with his own.
An Yang didn’t even look up and asked, "What’s up, talk!"
Danton smiled wryly, "Didn’t you hear what my sister just said?"
"Sister Luowa, what did you say?" An Yang looked up at Yi Luowa.
Yi Luowa smiled and said, "I said you should live here, so no one can hit you."
An Yang looked at Danton in hesitation, "But I need to go to school. When I grow up, I want to beco a doctor."
"Isn’t studying here the sa?" Danton pushed her to sit down.
"I don’t understand the Haotian Characters; I can only recognize them when spoken aloud."
"Then get ready to go ho and get beaten." Danton leaned over to Sang Yu, "Give Uncle one of your candies."
Sang Yu pouted and rummaged through her coat, pulling out one with a not-so-pretty wrapper. "Here you go!"
Danton took it with a smile, unwrapped it, and popped it into his mouth.
Yi Luowa glanced at the two kids, "Take these candies to my room."
"Hmm~" Sang Yu sat stubbornly on the sofa.
"If you don’t listen, you won’t get to eat them anymore. It’s up to you." Yi Luowa said.
Sang Yu thought for a mont, then grabbed her brother and stood up.
They muttered to each other as they carried the candies to their mom’s room.
Tong Airui put down the phone and glanced at them, "Daughter, why are you pouting? Who upset you?"
"Even if I tell you, it’s useless," Sang Yu huffed.
"Why useless?" Tong Airui asked, amused, looking at his daughter.
"Your wife bullied ! You can’t do anything about it." Sang Yu said stubbornly, walking over to the coffee table and dumping out her candies.
Zi Yan did the sa, then turned to his dad, "Mom said to leave them here."
"Dad, don’t eat them, okay?" Sang Yu said with an ingratiating smile.
"Dad won’t eat them; Dad’s afraid of getting cavities," Tong Airui said with a smile, standing up.
Sang Yu ran over and grabbed his hand, "Dad, where are you going?"
"We’ve got guests; Dad’s going to check on them."
"I’m coming too." Sang Yu glanced reluctantly at the candies on the table and called her brother, "Co on, let’s go!"
Tong Airui hadn’t been outside for long when Ruan Hanmo arrived.
The group chatted for a while, and Ruan Hanmo and Danton finalized a ti for a business eting before preparing to take his sister to the hotel to rest.
Hao Tian Queen was imdiately displeased, "Our family has troubled you so much on this island, and now that you’re here, you’re still planning to stay outside?"
An Yang pouted and said, "Exactly! If you’re leaving, go right ahead, but I’m staying. I still want to play with Pretty Brother."
"Danton has important matters to attend to. Where will he find ti to play with you?"
"Right now, my only business is playing with kids. One, two, three, four—I can play with them all."
"I’m not a child!" An Yang puffed her cheeks angrily and kicked Danton’s shoe.
Danton laughed, "I didn’t say you’re a child."
An Yang started counting, "One, two, three—then wouldn’t I be the fourth one?"
"Ha ha... Not dumb, you can count to four now!" Danton laughed and glanced at Ruan Hanmo, who had a resigned expression. "Han Mo, An Yang says she’s bullied at ho. Is that true?"
Ruan Hanmo chuckled bitterly, "She’s the eldest in our family. Who dares say a word against her? You didn’t notice while you were gone these few months—this girl has been going on a rampage, finding fault with everyone. At one point, she upset my mom so much she nearly wanted to throttle her."
"You see? I wasn’t lying! My mom really wants to strangle ," An Yang puffed her cheeks.
"That won’t do. An Yang is my benefactor. If you keep bullying her like this, I might just keep her here."
Ruan Hanmo laughed, "If you don’t mind her being a handful, you can keep her."
Danton jokingly nudged An Yang’s arm, "You heard him, your brother doesn’t want you anymore. From now on, stick with Pretty Brother."
"Is there a future in sticking with you?" An Yang pouted.
"Of course! I’ll teach you Haotian Characters, and I can even get you directly admitted to Haotian Royal dical College."
Yi Luowa gave her brother a deep look. He seed quite invested in An Yang.
"Is such a good thing possible?!" An Yang blinked her eyes.
"An Yang, don’t cause trouble for Danton," Ruan Hanmo tugged her sleeve.
An Yang smiled, "I know. Besides, this matter needs to be discussed with Mom and Dad."
After dinner, Hao Tian Queen led the siblings to look at the rooms. Yi Luowa poked her brother’s arm and teased, "Why do you want An Yang to stay?"
Danton grinned, "Sis, you just don’t know. With An Yang’s grades, forget about college—graduating high school is still up for debate. Aunt Shui Hui called , asking to talk to her. But talking isn’t enough for this rascal; I need to supervise her constantly."
"She’s just like ," Yi Luowa chuckled helplessly.
Tong Airui chuckled as he ruffled her hair, "You were slightly better. At least you’ve started studying seriously now. That ti Xing Can called and said you passed all your exams for grade advancent. Do you know what that ans?"
"I won’t have to stay a team captain forever." Yi Luowa shook her shoulders, laughing.
"Little rascal, keep it up—you have a bright future!" Tong Airui laughed and tapped her nose.
Yi Luowa slapped his hand away and leaned closer to her dad, "Dad, do you think my nose bridge is sinking more and more?"
Hao Tian Emperor examined earnestly, "It does seem a bit flatter."
"Hehe..." Zi Xi giggled in his grandpa’s arms.
Hao Tian Emperor laughed, "Even your son is laughing at you."
Yi Luowa chuckled and patted Zi Xi’s little bottom gently. "Little rascal, what are you laughing at? Your mom used to have a high nose bridge—it was flattened by your dad."
"King Randy..." The butler entered and saw the family playing with the child, hesitating to speak.
"Speak up if there’s sothing, don’t stamr," Hao Tian Emperor frowned at the butler.
The butler lowered his voice, "The queen’s old classmates ca—they say Xiang Zuo committed suicide in prison. They’re here to discuss posthumous arrangents with the queen."
Hao Tian Emperor’s face darkened imdiately, "For such a trivial matter, they co to Zhi Lan? Tell them the queen isn’t feeling well and won’t see anyone!"
