The two servants looked toward Queen Haotian with difficulty.
Queen Haotian yanked Nancy aside, "Rember your status. You’re not so street scoundrel—you are my princess of Haotian!"
After the servants carried the computer out, Queen Haotian shoved Nancy onto the sofa. "Everything you did today, Duke Ai’s n already saw it. He didn’t like you before, and now he’ll hate you even more! So just give up already!"
"What?!" Nancy struggled to stand up, shouting anxiously, "He was here? Where is he?"
Queen Haotian frowned, "You’re truly hopeless! Just a mont ago, he was sitting behind the computer, watching everything happening on your side."
Nancy collapsed onto the sofa, "Why didn’t you tell sooner!?"
"I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want to leave you any chance to salvage this. You’ve completely embarrassed yourself in front of him. From now on, whenever you see him, you’ll just avoid him."
Nancy clenched her fists and roared, "Are you still my mother?! Why are you treating like this? I love him, and if you don’t want to help , fine. But why do you have to sabotage ?!"
"I’m starting to wonder if I’m your mother!" Queen Haotian’s eyes glistened red before she quickly turned her head away. "I’ve prided myself on strength my entire life, yet I gave birth to a daughter like you. In the future, not only will you have no face to see Airui, I won’t either!"
With that, Queen Haotian quickly left the room.
"Lock the door, and don’t let her out without my permission," she ordered.
"Yes!"
With a loud "bang," the bedroom door was shut firmly.
Nancy froze for a mont before rushing forward and pushing the door hard. It didn’t budge! The door had already been locked!
Like a madwoman, Nancy slapped at the door, shouting, "Let out! I want to see my father! You have no right to lock up!"
"Without my orders, no one is allowed to see her, especially Emperor Haotian!" Queen Haotian’s icy voice ca from outside the door.
After giving her instructions, Queen Haotian returned to her own quarters and picked up the phone to call Tong Airui.
Tong Airui had only seen half of the drama and was annoyed he couldn’t watch the rest. When he saw Queen Haotian’s call, he deliberately delayed for a mont before pressing the answer button.
"Duke Airui, I must apologize for what happened today. I will make sure to discipline Nancy and ensure she doesn’t harm Luowa again."
Tong Airui furrowed his brow slightly. "Fortunately, no significant damage was done. Otherwise, your simple ’I’m sorry’ wouldn’t be enough to save your daughter."
"Duke Airui... I’m not pleading for her. This child wasn’t raised by my side. Without guidance, her temper has grown a bit extre. But you can rest assured, I will teach her how to behave properly."
"My wife didn’t have a mother either; she grew up free and untethered. But have you ever seen her act so outrageously? Queen Haotian, I have to point out—it’s a matter of fundantal nature!"
Tong Airui’s words made Queen Haotian’s expression darken. Was he implying that her own nature was flawed and that it had been passed down to her daughter?
The phone line fell silent for a long ti. Tong Airui smirked devilishly—you made unhappy, so I’ll make sure you’re unhappy too!
When Tong Airui felt enough ti had passed, he finally said in a tone of mock sincerity, "Queen Haotian, I’m sorry! I was so upset just now that I spoke without thinking and said things that upset you. What I ant to say was, a child resembles whoever raises them. Could it be that Nancy inherited so of Xia Rou’s traits?"
Queen Haotian took a deep breath to steady herself. "No. Xia Rou is steady and asured in her words and actions... Nancy takes after !"
Hearing the petulance in Queen Haotian’s tone, Tong Airui almost burst out laughing. "Queen Haotian, I’m getting another call. I’ll hang up now."
As soon as Tong Airui ended the call, he leaned over his desk and laughed uncontrollably.
Yi Luowa pushed open the door and walked in, eyeing him suspiciously for a while before asking, "Did you pick up a wife or sothing? Laughing like a fool!"
