"Mom, don’t worry. I’ll definitely cheer Luowa up." Danton hugged his mother’s shoulders as they walked out the door.
Tong Airui finished arranging the escort team, and the family accompanied Queen Haotian and Nancy to the gate.
Nancy gazed longingly at Tong Airui, who was speaking with Yuan Hang.
Feeling her gaze, Tong Airui subtly turned, leaving her only his back.
"Escort Queen Haotian back to Haotian safely, then return imdiately."
"Yes!"
Tong Airui firmly slapped Yuan Hang’s shoulder and whispered sothing in his ear.
"Understood, mission guaranteed!" Yuan Hang replied and quickly got into the car.
At the airport, Yuan Hang ordered everyone to hand over their phones and board imdiately.
Queen Haotian was montarily startled but quickly understood Tong Airui’s painstaking arrangents. She led by example, handing over her phone.
Nancy furrowed her brows but reluctantly placed her phone into the box as well.
With the Queen and the Princess handing over their phones, the others followed suit.
Everyone lined up to ascend the stairs to the plane.
"Beep-beep..." As Nancy stepped onto the stairs, an alarm sounded.
Queen Haotian frowned slightly, "Why do you have two phones?"
Nancy smiled sheepishly and pulled out an old phone from her backpack, "I’ve had this phone for so many years; I couldn’t bear to throw it away. Look how worn out it is."
Seeing how dilapidated the phone was, Queen Haotian felt a pang of discomfort in her chest and softened her tone, "Put it in."
Nancy quickly powered off the phone and placed it into the box.
After everyone boarded, Yuan Hang leaned over and whispered sothing to Queen Haotian. Queen Haotian nodded, grabbed Nancy’s hand, and started to leave the plane.
"Mom, the plane’s about to take off. Where are you going?" Nancy asked, puzzled.
Queen Haotian smiled, "Whatever Duke Airui arranges, we follow. It’s all for our safety."
The cabin door was blocked by a box truck. Queen Haotian pulled Nancy into the open cargo container.
Nancy was more puzzled than ever, "Mom, what are we doing?"
"Taking a different plane."
Nancy froze.
"Safety first."
Yuan Hang soon also boarded the box truck, which left the airport and headed to a nearby small airfield.
This ti, it wasn’t Fourth Master putting on a show. Yuan Hang successfully escorted Queen Haotian and Nancy back to Haotian, while the plane carrying Haotian guards still hadn’t arrived.
The reason it hadn’t arrived was that it was attacked mid-flight! Thankfully, Tong Airui had made advance arrangents, with disguised fighter jets protecting it. Even so, the plane was forced to land on an island and only returned to Haotian the next day.
Knowing the plane had been attacked, Queen Haotian appreciated Tong Airui’s wisdom and foresight even more. At the sa ti, she beca more certain there was a traitor among them—and she was determined to root them out sooner or later!
When Nancy heard about the attack, she was extrely frustrated. She thought, if she had been on that plane, she would’ve ended up spending a windy night on an island. If Tong Airui hadn’t arranged for protection, it wouldn’t have just been about enduring the wind—it could’ve ant being blown into the sea and becoming shark food!
With dawn breaking, Nancy, pouting, went to Xia Rou for advice. No one knew what Xia Rou said to her, but Nancy erged with traces of a smile on her face.
...
Fourth Master had a busy night!
He was multitasking between attending to his wife, answering phone calls, moving his body, using his mind, and talking non-stop.
Yi Luowa was teased to the point her body felt like it was crawling with thousands of ants, yet she didn’t dare make a sound. She was so frustrated she wanted to grab his phone and smash it to bits.
Fourth Master chatted away until past midnight. Seeing his wife’s pout grow deeper and deeper, he finally told the subordinate reporting to him, Little Fish: "I have more important matters to handle. I’ll call you back in an hour."
An hour later, Fourth Master had thoroughly "satisfied" himself and his wife. Only then did he head to the study—and he didn’t return until dawn.
Seeing his wife still asleep, Fourth Master climbed into bed gently.
As soon as he slipped under the covers, Yi Luowa opened her eyes.
"Did I wake you?" Tong Airui asked apologetically, gently touching her head.
"I couldn’t sleep soundly. Has Queen Haotian arrived ho safely?"
Tong Airui raised an eyebrow slightly—it seed his wife was quite concerned about Queen Haotian.
"Yes, she’s ho. She’s currently dealing with the biochemical weapon issue."
"I wonder if there’s any danger involved." Yi Luowa snuggled closer to him.
"I just spoke to her on the phone. She’s controlling everything remotely; it shouldn’t be dangerous..."
"But what about our people there? They’re surrounding the area at the foot of the mountain."
"Queen Haotian is distributing radiation protective suits as a precaution. According to her, the weapon storage site has excellent chanisms and shouldn’t have any leaks."
"Still, it’s better to remain cautious." Yi Luowa sighed and didn’t say more.
"Sleep a bit longer. I’ll stay with you all day today." Tong Airui pulled her into his arms, patting her lightly like a cradle.
"At the latest, I need to get up by seven."
"Hmm?"
"Danton’s still here..."
Tong Airui’s expression grew dark. "I wasn’t ho for a few days, and you’ve grown close to Danton."
"He’s alright. Maybe I remind him of his sister. He feels close to ."
"He may want to get close to you, but you’re my wife—I’m going to sit him down for a talk."
Yi Luowa gave him a tired look, bending her body to escape his embrace.
Tong Airui pulled her back tightly, locking her in his arms. "Don’t run just because I brought up a serious topic."
"None of the things you said were serious!" Yi Luowa pinched his waist. "Listen, Danton’s only nineteen. He’s still a kid, just like a little brother to . So, please, stop being so jealous."
"Nineteen? What were you doing at nineteen?" Tong Airui chuckled mischievously.
"At nineteen, I was fighting against villains."
"At nineteen, you t and fell in love—head over heels, irresistibly in love."
"Ugh." Yi Luowa dry-heaved. "Stop grossing out!"
Tong Airui glanced down at her. "You’re not pregnant again, are you?"
Yi Luowa glared at him and snapped, "Yes, I’m pregnant!"
Tong Airui’s face instantly grew serious. "If you’re pregnant, it’s not mine... And even if it is, I don’t want it. I’ve been abstaining for a year—thinking about it now makes my bones ache."
Yi Luowa curled her lip. "Whiny! Get up—I need to see how Danton plans for today. If he still wants to go to Bastu, I’ll visit my second uncle and see Huo Li."
"You lie down first! I haven’t settled the score with you yet!" Tong Airui rolled over, pinning her beneath him. "You promised not to go out, but you did—and nearly got into trouble."
"If I didn’t go out, I wouldn’t have discovered the traitor."
"Arguing again! Have you identified the traitor?"
"Big Peng and Little Mule are investigating for . You get off—I’ll ask them."
Yi Luowa pushed him hard, but the man on top of her was like a stone slab, pressing down heavier and heavier.
"They ca up with nothing." Fourth Master tightened his grip on her mischievous hands. "Before the plane was attacked, none of the phones showed activity. When we switched Queen Haotian to a new plane, I didn’t gamble—I confiscated all phones. That’s why the big plane was attacked while the smaller plane wasn’t. Otherwise, who knows what the outco would’ve been."
"There’s definitely a traitor. Could they be outside our monitoring scope?"
"It’s very likely soone tipped them off."
"The phone number ca from Danton. He wouldn’t be that careless..."
"The saying ’Young and reckless’ applies perfectly to a kid like him."
"I’ll go talk to that kid."
"Talk to him nicely." Seeing Tong Airui storm off, Yi Luowa quickly sat up.
Tong Airui shot her a cold look. "Look at you panicking—I don’t bite."
Tong Airui went to Danton’s room. Nobody knew what the two talked about, but when Yi Luowa asked Danton about going out to play, Danton shook his head furiously like a rattle drum, saying no again and again.
Yi Luowa pouted, "If you don’t want to go out, why don’t you co visit my second uncle’s estate with for the day? There’s plenty of fun stuff there."
Though itching to follow Yi Luowa, Danton glanced at Tong Airui and wilted. "Luowa sister, you go ahead. Seventh Aunt is visiting today."
"Has she developed the antidote?!" Yi Luowa asked excitedly.
