"For example?"

"The day it happened, Park Shunyan received a phone call at my place, and then he vanished. My third brother kept calling him, but he wouldn’t answer. And there’s the victims’ identities—we’ve confird who they are. They were from all over the country, but in the end, they t their tragic end in Xiawu. Who could have such a commanding influence to gather people from so many different places into one spot? It’s the sa situation in both Z Country and Soya. The patterns are eerily similar."

"Are you suggesting he’s a celebrity, that he’d have that kind of pull?"

"Yes, their influence is sothing hard for us to even imagine. Just look at my third brother, and you’ll understand what I an."

"The victims were all mbers of the Park Manor fan club." Tong Yao pushed the door open as she entered the room. "This is the only clue the police have uncovered."

Long Che frowned slightly. "Why wasn’t I told earlier?"

"We’ve been busy preparing for Nuo’er’s wedding these past days. I only heard a brief ntion of it from Angelo earlier today." Tong Yao pursed her lips as she walked over to stand beside her son. "Rui’er, the police already followed this lead. Park Shunyan doesn’t have the ti window to commit the cri."

Tong Airui hesitated for a mont. "You just said it yourself. This is the only lead we have, so we can’t give up. Even if he doesn’t have a concrete alibi, we could start investigating mbers of his fan club. Who knows, we might uncover sothing."

"Right, the police won’t give up on this. If I have ti, I’ll help, too," Tong Yao looked up at her son and added, "Earlier, I saw that hand... It seems like we need to be more vigilant. They may not just be targeting Luowa. There’s also Connie, Joyina, and the others."

"Mom, don’t worry. I’ll make all the arrangents. None of them will be in any danger."

They finished discussing the matter in the basent and chose not to share anything with the rest of the family to avoid unnecessary panic.

Even though they didn’t say anything, Yi Luowa still noticed sothing was off. The day after Tong Aino’s wedding, the number of bodyguards at the house nearly doubled, and whenever anyone left the house, they were escorted by extra security, too.

That evening, after returning from her class, Yi Luowa spent so ti with the kids. Once they both fell asleep, she finally went back to the bedroom.

Tong Airui was sitting with his laptop when she ca in. He quickly shut it as soon as he saw her. "The kids asleep?"

Yi Luowa nodded slightly.

Tong Airui smirked. "I knew it. As long as they’re awake, you’ll never co back."

Yi Luowa shot him a disdainful look. "I spent the entire day with *you*. Spending under half an hour with them in the evening, and you’re getting jealous?"

"Who’s jealous?" Tong Airui stood up. "I’ll go get the bath ready."

Watching him scurry off, Yi Luowa couldn’t help but chuckle. She took out two sets of sleepwear from the wardrobe and went into the bathroom.

Next morning.

The kids were awake, and Tong Yao noticed that it was only her son who ca to check on them. Suspicious, she asked, "Where’s Luowa?"

"She stayed up late last night, so she’s still sleeping." Tong Airui smiled as he gently stroked his daughter’s cheek. "Your mom’s such a little sloth! Let’s not pick up her bad habits, okay?"

"Heehee..." Sangyu laughed gleefully.

Tong Airui bent down and kissed his daughter’s cheek. Seeing his son looking at him with big, pitiful eyes, he leaned over to kiss him, too.

As he stretched his neck, Tong Yao imdiately noticed the scratch marks on the back of his neck. She frowned slightly and was about to ask if the couple had been fighting, but her son’s expression...

Doing a quick ntal calculation, Tong Yao suddenly burst into laughter.

Tong Airui turned to his mother, confused. "Mom, what wonderful thing are you thinking about to make you so happy?"

"I’m happy for you!" Tong Yao patted her son’s broad back, still laughing. "You’ve finally made it through!"

Tong Airui froze for a mont before realizing what his mother ant. "Your sharp eyes never miss a trick, huh? You could even catch this?"

"It’s written all over your face..."

"Ahem..." Long Che cleared his throat as he walked out of the bathroom. "What kind of mom talks about these things with her kids?"

"I’m talking to my son. What’s it got to do with you?" Tong Yao huffed indignantly. "You two look after the kids. I’m going to check on Ni’er."

"Her temper keeps getting worse. I don’t even know what I did to upset her! She just scolds out of nowhere," Long Che grumbled to his son the mont his wife stepped out.

"If letting her scold will make her happy, then I’ll let her," Tong Airui said with a grin as he reached for his daughter.

Long Che frowned and asked, "What are you doing?"

"I’m taking her to wake her mom up. Otherwise, she’s going to be late."

"Leave Sangyu here with . You take Ziyan," Long Che instructed, lifting his granddaughter into his arms. "Let’s go see your auntie and cheer up your grandma while we’re at it."

Tong Airui shook his head with a wry smile, picked up his son, and followed his father out.

By the ti Tong Airui left the room, Yi Luowa had woken up. She was lying there, debating whether or not to get up.

She was still contemplating when Tong Airui ca in carrying their son.

Yi Luowa perked up imdiately when she saw her son. "Co here, baby!"

Hearing her say that, Tong Airui froze in place.

Yi Luowa frowned and glared at him.

The more sharply she glared, the more determined he was not to budge. "Repeat what you just said."

Yi Luowa blinked. "I just said, ’Co here, baby!’ What’s wrong with that?"

"Say it’s no big deal!" He glared right back at her.

Yi Luowa covered her mouth and laughed. "You’re so petty! What are you even thinking? I wasn’t trying to provoke you or anything."

Tong Airui said irritably, "If you dare try to provoke , let’s see what happens."

Yi Luowa patted the bed. "Honey, just bring the baby over here."

Tong Airui sighed and placed Ziyan on the bed. "Now that you have the kids, who even cares about anymore? You know, without , there’d be no ’them’ either!"

Yi Luowa gave him a look and said, "Stop talking nonsense! You promised last night you’d tell sothing, and you still haven’t. Tell now! If you don’t, I’m not going to work today!"
