Tong Airui stretched his neck to glance at the two kids on the bed, reluctantly following Yi Luowa out of the door.

Tong Aino pulled Connie along as they ca out as well. Connie gently shut the door, pursing her lips as she looked at Yi Luowa.

Yi Luowa wrinkled her nose.

Connie covered her mouth and burst out laughing.

"What are you laughing at?" Tong Aino nudged her.

"Laughing at how pitiful sis-in-law looks. Did you see the reluctant look on her and bro’s faces when they ca out after looking at the kids?" Connie finished speaking and imdiately glanced at the door to her mother-in-law’s room. Thankfully, the door was soundproof; whatever they said outside wouldn’t be heard inside.

"Having soone help raise the kids is great! I’m even worried about how, when it’s our turn to have a baby, no one will be there to help us." Tong Aino raised an eyebrow at Tong Airui. "Bro, isn’t it aweso to just produce kids without having to raise them?"

"Aweso!" Tong Airui glared at him irritably.

"Oh~ Look who’s not happy. Stop pretending to complain when you’ve got it good." Whistling, Tong Aino returned to the room. In less than a minute, he ca back out holding a box.

Tong Airui eyed the box suspiciously.

"No use gawking—it’s not for you," Tong Aino said with a grin as he handed the box to Yi Luowa. "These past few days, I was bored, so I made two guns for you. One gold, one silver. The gold one is for tranquilizer darts—use it to handle my bro and silly You. The silver one shoots bullets; you’ll definitely find a use for it later."

"Thanks~" Yi Luowa replied with a sweet smile, took the box, and opened it, pulling out the silver gun. "Are there bullets for this?"

"Didn’t load it, afraid you might accidentally fire it. Bullets are stored in the basent; ten boxes of each type. That’ll keep you entertained for a while. Go practice there when you have ti. If you don’t know how..."

"I’ll teach you!" Tong Airui smirked.

Tong Aino shot him a disdainful look. "Look at you being all scared. I didn’t say I was going to teach."

Tong Airui glared at him. "Co here, I need to talk to you."

"No way! You’ll probably hit ." Tong Aino threw an arm around Connie’s shoulders and tried to head back to his room.

Tong Airui gave him a sideways glance. "I an serious business."

Tong Aino looked at him. Seeing that he didn’t seem to be joking, he laughed and walked over.

Tong Airui leaned close to his ear and whispered sothing.

Tong Aino froze. "How could you be so careless?! I’ll go now."

Tong Airui shook his head. "Go tomorrow. Co up with a proper excuse before heading out."

Tong Aino scratched his head. "I’ll make a phone call to her first."

Connie followed Tong Aino into the room, puzzled. "What happened?" she asked.

Tong Aino slamd the door angrily. "Ai Ni was in a car accident. Her head got injured, and she almost lost the baby."

Connie’s eyes imdiately welled up with tears. "What about now?"

"Bro went to check last night and said she’s mostly okay. Connie, contact the S Country branch imdiately. Have them call during breakfast tomorrow—I need an excuse to go see Ai Ni. They’re still keeping it from everyone and don’t have anyone around. If You Jia has to step out, Ai Ni will be all alone."

"I’ll go with you to take care of Ai Ni," Connie said, heading to the balcony with her phone.

Tong Aino glanced at her before pulling out his own phone.

While the two arranged to head to S Country, Tong Airui was busy on his end as well. Just as he and Yi Luowa entered their room, Dapeng’s call ca through.

After listening to Dapeng, Tong Airui replied in a deep voice, "Be careful. I’ll start arranging imdiately."

"Understood!"

After ending the call, Tong Airui paced around the room for a mont. "Wife, you go ahead and sleep. I need to head upstairs for a conference call."

"Alright." Yi Luowa took out their pajamas and placed them on the bed.

"Don’t wait for ; no idea how long it’ll take." Tong Airui apologetically patted her head.

Seeing the redness in his eyes, Yi Luowa felt distressed. "Try to hurry. You didn’t sleep well last night."

"I’ll do my best."

Though Tong Airui promised to be quick, the eting ended up lasting until 3 a.m.

With him still away, Yi Luowa couldn’t rest properly. Half-asleep, she had the feeling soone was standing next to the bed. Initially, she thought it was Tong Airui. But rubbing her eyes, she saw it was You.

Startled, Yi Luowa let out a squeal and sat up. "Youyou, how did you get in here?"

"Opened the door and ca in." You held up a thin piece of wire, her face serious.

"You can’t just sneak into soone’s room in the middle of the night like that—you’ll scare them to death!" Yi Luowa got out of bed barefoot and took You’s hand. "Co on, I’ll take you back to sleep."

"Sis, where did Mi Chenxuan go for his mission? I can’t reach him." You pouted and stared at her.

"I don’t know where he went, but I know he’ll be back soon."

"You’re lying!"

"I’m not lying. You two are about to have your wedding—he wouldn’t miss that. Do you need to tell him sothing? If it’s urgent, I can ask Tong Airui to pass along the ssage for you."

"He wouldn’t pass along anything for !" You sniffled. "I ssed up today. I’m afraid my brother-in-law will warn Mi Chenxuan not to co back and marry ."

Yi Luowa burst out laughing. "It’s just about taking the kids—it’s not that serious."

"It’s not serious? Uncle said he’d cut off my hand. My brother-in-law said he’d chop off my foot. And then you walked away without saying a word to ." You clung to Yi Luowa’s shoulders, sobbing. "Sis, I’d rather you scold than give the cold shoulder."

"I was mad at you. Those kids are so little—after studying with the nanny for so long, I still struggle to hold them properly. You haven’t studied at all; what if sothing happened? That would’ve been a disaster!" Yi Luowa gently patted her cheeks. "But I wasn’t trying to give you the cold shoulder. I was just exhausted and wanted to get so rest."

"Sis, my brother-in-law wouldn’t stop Mi Chenxuan from coming back, right?"

"Of course not. But if you steal the kids again, that might change."

Yi Luowa gave her a serious look.

"I promise I won’t take the kids anymore."

You raised her hand to swear, but Yi Luowa quickly pulled it back down.

"No need to swear. I believe you."

You pressed her lips together. "Sis, I overheard my brother-in-law talking in the study—he said there’s going to be a war."

Yi Luowa glanced at her helplessly. "Stop eavesdropping on him. Even if you accidentally overheard sothing, don’t share it with anyone. These are secrets!"

You chuckled. "Sis, you’re more professional than I am—I need to learn from you."

Yi Luowa smiled and whispered, "Where’s the war going to be?"

You shot her a disdainful look. "Weren’t you just lecturing about not spilling secrets? Why are you asking now?"

Yi Luowa cleared her throat and puffed her chest proudly. "When my maternity leave is over, I’ll be your brother-in-law’s advisor. Even if you don’t tell , he will."

You pouted. "Oh, the esteed Advisor Yi."

Yi Luowa laughingly tapped her. "Co on, spill it—where’s the fight going to be?"

"R Country is stirring up trouble, sending troops to the borders..." You paused dramatically.

Yi Luowa glanced at her and shook her head. "Them declaring war on us? Doesn’t sound likely. You must’ve misunderstood."

"I wasn’t finished—it’s not us they’re targeting; it’s Haotian. But Haotian is so close to Xiawu—it could spill over here. Your brother-in-law is busy rallying the troops."

Yi Luowa smacked her lightly. "How long have you been eavesdropping? If your brother-in-law finds out, he might actually cut off your foot."

You pouted and rubbed her arm. "I’ve never been caught while eavesdropping. I just wanted to see where Mi Chenxuan was sent. Instead, he was only talking about war stuff."

Yi Luowa frowned slightly. "You, hurry back. They’re rallying troops, which ans your brother-in-law will be back soon. If he sees you awake at this hour, he’ll lose his temper again."

You pouted. "Fine, I’ll leave."
