Mi Chenxuan clenched Yu’s fist tightly, "You’re still young, there are many things you don’t understand. Two tigers cannot share one mountain—if Du Ma doesn’t die, the people of Haotian will live in deep distress. Moreover, in these years, the flas of war have already spread to Xiawu. We can’t just stand by and do nothing."
Yu blinked. During these years of unrest in Haotian, although she’d stayed in the base and had little contact with the outside world, her master occasionally said a thing or two to her.
"If soone absolutely has to die, then why shouldn’t the one to die be the Emperor of Haotian? He’s not a good person; he stole his own younger brother’s woman!"
Mi Chenxuan frowned slightly, "Du Ma is brutal, reckless, and easily influenced. Do you think soone like him is suitable to be king?"
Yu was silent for a mont, then nodded vehently, "What you’re saying sort of makes sense!"
"How old are you?" Mi Chenxuan looked at her ssy, doodled face and asked helplessly.
"Twenty." Yu pursed her lips, "And you?"
Mi Chenxuan smirked, "Twenty? Who are you trying to fool!"
"If I’m lying to you, I’m a puppy. I share the sa birthday as his wife!" Yu raised her hand bound by handcuffs and pointed at Tong Airui.
Mi Chenxuan also raised his hand, but upon seeing Tong Airui’s face nearly darken into charcoal, he quickly lowered Yu’s hand down along with his.
"If you really do have the sa exact birthday as my fourth sister-in-law, then your intelligence and life experience are vastly inferior to hers!"
"My intelligence is absolutely not inferior to anyone’s. What I lack is experience. If you were isolated for over a decade like , you’d be worse off than I am!" Yu shot him a dissatisfied glance.
Mi Chenxuan cocked an eyebrow slightly, "True, you’re not weak. You’ve only been out for a few days, and you’ve already killed so many people."
Yu’s eyes suddenly welled up with tears. "Those people deserved to die! They betrayed my master—my master, who was also *their* master. Treating him like that is nothing short of treachery!"
Yu sniffled and coldly stared at Yuan Hang. "You bastard! They frad my master, and you didn’t even bother to ask questions before killing him. If my master hadn’t been drugged that day, it would’ve been you instead!"
Yuan Hang glanced sideways and thought for a mont. "How many people have I personally killed in Haotian? Who was your master?"
"Qiu Te! You killed him, accusing him of being leftover insurgents!" Yu lifted her leg, straining to kick Yuan Hang.
Yuan Hang took a step back, thought again, then suddenly slapped his forehead. "Now I rember. My informant told this guy was Du Ma’s right-hand man. But when I got to his hiding place, he was already dead."
Yu’s eyes flared with rage as she glared at him. "He wasn’t any ’right-hand man.’ He was just our base’s coach! For years, he’s been the one looking after —if not for him, I’d have been dead long ago."
Tong Airui exchanged a glance with Mi Chenxuan and dragged Yuan Hang out the door.
Yu yelled loudly, "Tong Airui, you still haven’t told why!"
Mi Chenxuan tugged lightly at her handcuffs, and Yu turned her head toward him. "What now?"
Mi Chenxuan frowned slightly, "I’ll tell you. It’s because you took sothing you shouldn’t have. That instantly revealed your childish nature and exposed your inner thoughts. My fourth brother, such a clever person, imdiately figured out that you ca here to find . He’s practically unbeatable—don’t try to outthink him lightly. Ten of you and ten of put together wouldn’t be his match."
Yu tilted her head like a naive child and asked, "Then what should I do so he doesn’t think I ca here for you?"
Mi Chenxuan looked at her with exasperation. "If you insist on playing next ti, make sure you take sothing valuable."
"But I like your stuff better! Especially your childhood photos and your cartoon-patterned underwear. Where did you buy those funny little undies? I want so too."
Mi Chenxuan stared at her, instantly recalling three words: dumb, sweet, silly. No wonder she’d never been put into service properly before. Sending soone like her to complete a mission—well, my fourth brother wouldn’t need to go to such lengths to kill Du Ma; he’d be infuriated to death by her antics alone.
But then again, you’d call her dumb. Yet in the early stages of her sches, she seed pretty smart, and when it ca to killing people, she was even more efficient than he was.
"That day in the Aldrich Building, were the people trying to kill my fourth sister-in-law part of your group?" Mi Chenxuan hadn’t forgotten the look his fourth brother had given him before walking out.
His fourth brother was clearly irritated by her. He’d tasked Mi Chenxuan with prying so information out. This mission wasn’t optional—Mi Chenxuan still needed Tong Airui’s help.
"No, but I guess you could say I was an accomplice."
Standing outside, Tong Airui narrowed his eyes dangerously.
"What did you do to help her?" Mi Chenxuan deeply regretted asking this question. His fourth sister-in-law was his fourth brother’s most treasured person, and if Yu had aided in harming her, then his fourth brother would show no rcy.
