Moon slowly looked up at Aiden's face, her heart hurting as she rembered what she had just seen when she entered the house.
Aiden kissing Ariel in front of her hurt her more than the death of her biological parents.
Even if she wanted to be honest and apologize to him for what happened last night, with what she saw in the living room, she wasn't going to be honest anymore.
Since Aiden no longer treated her the way he used to, there was no need to treat him the sa way anymore, she had to switch her ga to a more intense one.
"Aiden...I didn't intend to drug you; I never knew the wine bottle was spiked, I guess soone was trying to make look like a bad person before you," Moon looked innocent like an angel.
Aiden furrowed his brows; he regarded Moon with confused eyes. Had he been imagining things? He thought he saw Moon co into his car with an unopened bottle of wine, so how can soone spike an unopened bottle?
"Moon," he called quietly.
Moon was nervous, but she refused to show it; she was never going to lose Aiden by any ans, even if it ant lying and hurting him; he must be hers in the end, just as it should be.
"Yes, Aiden?" She replied softly.
"Sit down," Aiden pointed her to the opposite sofa.
Moon wanted to ask to sit with him but it would just be awkward, given the situation.
The mont Moon lowered herself to the sofa, Viktor walked through the door, a file in his hand.
"Good morning, Aiden, Morning, Princess," He greeted Aiden and Moon, giving Moon a wink before he turned to face Aiden.
"I hope I'm not interrupting sothing?" Viktor questioned.
Aiden shook his head, "Nothing, just a casual behavioral conversation with my little sister," Aiden replied coldly.
"Oohh... Soone's been naughty again..." Viktor smiled at Moon.
Moon saw Ariel walking back to the living room and felt belittled.
Why does Ariel get to be treated like a full-grown woman while she gets treated like a little girl all the ti?
"Stop it, Viktor!" Moon snapped at Viktor.
Viktor raised a brow at her and shook his head, "We're not engaged anymore, sweetheart. You can't tell what to do, you don't have that privilege over anymore," He blew her kiss and went and sat beside Aiden.
"Hi, damsel," Viktor greeted Ariel, who had just walked into the living room.
"Hey, didn't see you last night," Ariel replied as she walked over to the sofa.
"Right, I was a little busy with so hot chick last night, damn; that chick was hottt!" Viktor made emphasis on the "hot" as he stared at Moon, observing her reaction.
Moon was livid, 'Asshole,' She cursed Viktor in her mind.
Ariel was smiling and shaking her head and was about to lower herself to the other side beside Adien, but he subtly moved behind her and carried her.
"Aiden, I can sit on my-"
"I want to hold you," Aiden interrupted her.
Viktor blinked, once, twice...continuously.
He couldn't stop his eyes from twitching and blinking.
Was he seeing and hearing right?
Was Aiden and Ariel willingly making skinship without the presence of Grandma Nari? He knew they never pretended in front of them, so...does it an...
"This is the problem, Aiden!" Moon suddenly shouted.
Viktor was startled, holding his chest as he stared at Moon. "Witch." He muttered very quietly.
Moon snapped her head to him, causing him to shrink back against the chair.
Ariel raised her eyebrows, "Everything alright with your sister?" She asked.
"That's what I'm trying to figure out," Aiden replied with a straight face as he stared at Moon.
Moon was breathing heavily, her fists clenched beside her.
She scoffed and then laughed humorlessly.
"I see it now, Aiden. You never loved , and ever since this bitch ca into your life you've-"
"You'll watch your mouth with my wife, Moon," Aiden warned.
Moon was becoming teary, and her chest was constricting from pain; she was losing this battle and she knew it.
"It's alright," Ariel stood from Aiden's lap.
She walked over to Moon and stopped in front of her. "Leaving substance to chase shadows, huh?" Ariel asked.
Moon glared at Ariel, "Get out of my way, Ariel. You're the cause of all this; you made everyone treat like a kid, instead of..." She paused, realizing she was about to say sothing inappropriate.
"Go on, Moon, instead of what?" Ariel questioned.
"For the record, I don't treat you like a kid...you should know better how I treated you and still want to treat you," Viktor winked at her.
Moon blinked slowly.
"As I said, leaving substance to chase shadows. How about you tell us why you spiked Aiden's drink last night?" Ariel asked seriously.
"Damn it, baby girl, you're going too far," Viktor sighed.
"I didn't," Moon replied vehently.
She knew Ariel didn't have any evidence; she had already asked soone to delete the security footage of when she was spiking the drink, so why accept sothing she'd never be caught doing? If she said she was innocent, then she was fucking innocent.
Ariel wasn't surprised; if Moon should have agreed to be guilty, then pigs would have started to fly.
Aiden has been quiet, observing and listening to Moon. He was suddenly starting to understand sothing, sothing very disturbing that he refused to believe.
He stood and went to stand beside Ariel. "If I didn't know you any better, I'd think you're jealous of Ariel...not the sibling jealousy I thought this was...but, sothing more, like a girlfriend. Am I right, Moon?" He questioned firmly, his eyes piercing Moon's soul to search for the answers.
Moon's heart was hamring inside her chest, this is what she'd always wanted, for Aiden to realize that she saw him as more than a brother, but she didn't expect that when he realized, it would be under such a complex condition, and she never expected him to have such a disgusted look on his face.
"N-no, you're wrong," She looked over at Viktor who was quietly sitting on the sofa, looking at her with hurt eyes.
She looked over at Aiden and Ariel and quickly thought of a way to salvage the situation. If she agreed to it now, Aiden might decide to disown her, making her a stranger to him and the Chaz family; her reputation would be gone within a twinkle of an eye.
She couldn't live that way either; there must be a way to beco a real Chaz, and it was only by marrying Aiden, but she guessed that now wasn't the ti yet.
"Then, what is all this, Moon?" Aiden narrowed his eyes at her.
"Well, you see, I'm sorry!" She threw herself at Aiden and hugged him, crying.
Ariel stared at her in disbelief, she was wondering how many personalities Moon had. She switched up so fast and effortlessly.
"I'm sorry, Aiden, I accept. I am jealous about your marriage with Ariel, but it's not the way you're seeing it, I just..." She sniffed and raised her face to look at him, "I just feel like you used to treat as a sister and a best friend before, but now, you don't even treat as an acquaintance, I just need my older brother back, I feel neglected, you know you're the only one for ...the only brother I have, please, don't neglect , please..." Moon let her tears fall from her eyes, making herself more piteous in front of Aiden
Aiden stared at Moon for so ti; seeing her tears was always his weakness and she knew it. But he was sacred; he was scared of his assumptions becoming real, what was he to do with her if they beca real? There was only one way to put a stop to all this, and he would never want to go down that path. However, that would be his last resort if he finally figured out that he's been right all along.
"Co on, stop crying, Moon, I'm just looking out for you as your big brother, I don't want you to make the wrong decisions in life, and," He held Ariel's arm and gently brought her over to his side.
"I need you to start accepting that Ariel is my wife, and she isn't going anywhere, that doesn't stop you from being my sister, neither does it change the way I love you. It'll do you good to start forming a comfortable relationship with her, Moon, okay?" Aiden gently spoke to her.
Ariel couldn't believe her eyes and ears. Was Aiden being serious now? He could recall everything that happened last night; why did he believe what Moon said to him?
"I'm sorry, Aiden, but I can't be friends with a manipulative person; I can't even pretend to be friends with her; I just hope, by the ti you realize who she is, it won't be too late," Ariel moved away from him and walked upstairs.
