Aiden nodded, "Yes, that way, you don't have to worry about getting hurt in the end."

Moon shook her head, "No, you don't have to do it just because I brought the topic up and you're trying to please , I think it's better if you just left everything as it was," Moon rushed to salvage her sinking ship.

But it was useless; her ship was sinking and burning, unretrievable.

"No, not because you asked or brought up the topic. I wanted to find the ti to talk privately with you. But since you've already brought it up, I might as well tell you sothing I've never told anyone," Aiden said in a low tone, not wanting any other person to hear him.

Moon was curious, maybe; he wanted to say that he was just kidding and that what he wanted to do was to divorce Ariel imdiately.

"What's the thing, Aiden?" She questioned, her palms sweaty from anxiety.

"I think I'm in love with Ariel. I wasn't sure at first, but as I got to know her better, I discovered that she's not like any woman I've seen," Aiden confessed, his eyes looking so affectionate as he thought about Ariel.

Moon was hyperventilating. This can't be happening. This wasn't how she planned this conversation to go.

Aiden wasn't supposed to love Ariel! When did this happen?!

Well, it's happened, and the only thing she could do was to find a way to stir up trouble and break whatever spell Ariel had on Aiden.

"Aiden, I don't an to be a wet blanket, but rember, we promised never to fall in love; that's why I never married Viktor, We promised to have each other forever," Moon went over to Aiden and held his shirt.

Aiden frowned and shook his head. "No, that was my promise to myself, Moon; I asked you not to follow my footsteps; you don't even know the reason I made that choice. Is that why you hurt Viktor the way you did?" Aiden asked in surprise.

"Viktor isn't the point right now. And I do know the reason, Grandma told . It's about your mother, about how she cheated and almost poisoned your father just so he could sign the divorce papers and will all his properties to her. And she tried to mole-"

"Enough!" Aiden roared.

He was fuming, and he never believed that his grandma could tell such details to soone else after promising not to.

"But, it's the truth, she tried to-"

"He said enough, Moon. Are you daft?" Ariel spoke from the foot of the stairs.

She had been coming down to eat so food when she heard Aiden shouting for Moon to stop, but when she heard Moon continue with whatever she was saying, she knew she had to step in since Moon seed like she wasn't about to stop until she finished whatever was saying.

Moon snapped her head to Ariel and smiled evilly at her.

"And who are you to co between our conversation? An outsider, you don't have any right to speak when I'm speaking to Aiden," Moon gloated.

Ariel raised a brow at her and nodded. "It's a sha how a beautiful lady like you has dentia at such an early age, but that's okay, I'll always be kind enough to remind you. " She paused and walked past Moon and toward Aiden.

Even if she didn't love Aiden, at that mont, she wanted to help him escape whatever ntal torture Moon was trying to push him into because she'd been there multiple tis.

She reached in front of Aiden and put her arms around his neck, facing Moon, she said. "I'm no outsider, Moon, I'm his wife," Ariel did what Moon was never expecting her to do.

She kissed Aiden.

Aiden had been surprised to see Ariel on the stairs; he had imdiately gone quiet the mont she appeared, he didn't want her seeing his demons.

He was disturbed as he thought that Moon was about to spill everything to Ariel, but he was surprised to see that Ariel rather handled Moon's temper well.

And now, she was kissing him voluntarily for the first ti. She was staking her claim on him in front of Moon.

Aiden smiled and gently wrapped his arms around her waist, returning her kiss. He felt a feeling of calmness watch over him, his mind imdiately diverting from the past hurtful mories that were threatening to possess his mind to the little woman kissing him as if he was her most prized possession.

Moon was brewing with lethal anger. Her fists were clenched in a manner that would leave deep finger marks on her palms when she opened them.

She never thought that Ariel could be this bold and daring. She had thought she was a pushover, timid and quiet.

But she's been wrong in her assumptions. Ariel was smarter than she thought, and she had leverage over her Aiden's affection.

Aiden was the leverage Ariel had over her; since Aiden had developed feelings for Ariel, her mission had just gotten complicated, and she could no longer hurt Ariel as openly as before, then, it was ti she changed her approach.

Ariel slowly withdrew from Aiden's lips; she didn't look into his eyes; she hadn't looked into his eyes since she walked down those stairs, she was just doing this because of Moon.

Aiden was staring at Ariel's face, his mind confirming to him a million tis that he loved her. He's never loved a woman, but he was sure that what he felt for Ariel was love.

Ariel turned to Moon but didn't step out of Aiden's arm. "So, I hope I've been able to convince you that this hot and sexy man behind is my husband, Moon, mine. Do you understand that, Moon?" Ariel asked, smirking at Moon.

Aiden felt pride fill his heart. His arms tightened around her waist, and he drew her closer to himself.

Moon smiled, "Right; I apologize, Aiden. I guess you were right. I was just being a jealous sibling." Moon slowly moved to the sofa and picked up her bag.

"I guess I have to accept that my brother has found the woman he truly loves, and I will respect his decision. I should take my leave now, give you two so Privacy," She smiled at Aiden, but Aiden wasn't looking at her.

He was still disappointed in her for saying the things she did. And he wasn't ready to talk to her just yet.

"Drive safely, Moon, don't worry about your brother, I know just how to calm him down," Ariel caressed Aiden's arm, sending Moon a wink.

What annoyed Moon the most was the fact that Aiden had completely gone mute on her the mont Ariel appeared, he allowed Ariel to speak to her however she wanted.

But she nursed her anger very well; now wasn't the ti to be unreasonable. It was ti she beca strategic.

"Of course, Ariel, I'll be on my way. See you soon, Aiden," Moon bit her lips as Aiden kept ignoring her.

She awkwardly turned away from them and walked toward the entrance.

She paused, giving Aiden a chance to apologize to her, but when he didn't, she took a deep breath and walked out of the house.

As Moon left, Ariel finally released a long sigh.

She looked down at Aiden's arms, still holding her around her waist, and then she looked up at Aiden's face and found him staring down at her with strange eyes.

"She's gone now, you can relax," She smiled up at him and patted his cheek.

For so reason, she didn't want to fight with him at the mont; she just wanted a peaceful atmosphere around them for once, even if it was not as lovers, but at least as so normal adults living together.

Aiden turned her to face him, then he pald her cheeks and kissed her cheek.

"Thank you, Ariel," He whispered.

Ariel nodded, "It's okay, I don't like it when soone thinks they can use our past to taunt us..." She paused and gave her a small smile.

"You can go up to the room now; I need to go sowhere," Ariel inford and made to step out of his hold, but Aiden's hold got extrely tight.

"You want to go out?" Aiden furrowed his brows.

Ariel nodded, "Yes, can't I?"

Aiden recalled what Helen had told him earlier and shook his head. But he wasn't about to tell her; he didn't want to scare her; instead, he would devise another ans to keep her safe at ho beside him.

"You want to leave ? After claiming as your husband and seducing in front of my sister?" His voice turned deeper and sexier.

Ariel bit her lips and looked away from him; she knew she would still face the consequences of her earlier bravery.

"I was just trying to help you," She replied.

His eyes narrowed, and he lowered his head beside her ears. "Then I know exactly how you should help ," Aiden kissed her behind her ear, causing her to shiver.

"What are you talking about?" Ariel whispered.

"How about you follow to the room and find out?" His hot breath whispered against her lips.
