Ariel had finished listening to the recorder and couldn't help laughing at Moon's stupidity.
At this point, she was sure that Candy wasn't Aiden's child she was going to prove it.
She was sitting on the bed, her laptop in front of her. She's been working since morning, and she had succeeded in finding the video she was searching for.
However, what Ariel found was part of the reason she strongly suspected that Candy wasn't Aiden's daughter; if her friends could lie to her, then why not Moon, who was the devil herself?
She couldn't believe that Jess and Ken had lied to her, and most importantly, she couldn't believe that Ken would ever agree to do that kind of thing to her.
She didn't know what to think of them anymore. Were they really her friends, or they've been working with Moom all that while?
She was disappointed, and she was going to make sure that Ken knew about it. She was no longer in the era of seeing things and letting them slide; right now, whatever she saw, she was dealing with it imdiately.
She picked up the phone beside her and called Ken, after a few rings, he answered.
"Hi, Ariel, what's going in?" Ken asked in a friendly tone.
Ariel had to take a slow deep breath to calm the anger that was building up within her.
"Why did you want to rape , Ken?" She asked quietly.
The line went silent for a long while, "Answer , Ken. Why did you want to rape ? Even after being aware that I was a married woman. You told I could trust you, that you would be that friend I needed, the companion I never had, you promised Ken, and I believed every word you said to . But what did you do? You went behind my back, to my enemy, and together, both of you planned to assault . At what cost, Ken? What was your goal?" Ariel's voice was calm as she spoke, but Ken knew that she was raging within her.
Ken sighed through the phone, "Ariel, I'm sorry. I know it doesn't cut what I did; my actions are disgraceful and unforgivable, and I'm not proud of them, either. Forgive , I was blinded by jealousy, I wanted you then Ariel, I wanted you to leave Aiden and my desperation led into Moon's claws, I played by her stupid rules, I know I can keep apologizing from now till the end of the year and it wouldn't still heal the damages I've done. But from my heart, I am sorry, and each day, I feel regret for what I did...Jessica too," He finished the last part with a gloomy voice.
Ariel knew he was telling the truth, but she was still trying to process the whole thing. She suddenly realized that he had ntioned Jessica's. Was it guilt that made Jess disappear?
"I know Jess was involved in keeping your secret, she would never work with Moon. And from the video, I realized that she gave herself to you in place of , she was trying to protect the both of us..." She sighed.
She couldn't really stay angry at Jess, she was the one who warned her about Moon's plan that night, and she had also sacrificed herself for her sake.
Ariel suddenly sat up in bed; she recalled Jess looking so sad and broken after that night; could it be that Ken was the asshole she was talking about? Her anger multiplied, and Ken just kept disappointing her.
"About I and Jess, did you watch the video?" Ken asked cautiously.
Ariel scoffed, "The mont I saw you drag her to the bed, I removed it, Ken. I'm not so psycho, and it's even the evidence I was looking for; I've got what I wanted at the beginning of the video." She replied, rolling her eyes when she heard Ken sigh in relief.
"So, you're just worried about watching the video?" She questioned.
"No, no, I'm sorry if I ca across that way, my apologies still remain, Ariel, I failed your trust, and I-"
"Why did she leave? Was it because of her guilt towards or because you were an asshole to her?" She cut him off with her direct question.
Ken was caught off guard; she never knew that Jess would tell soone about it; he felt ashad and repentant.
"I'm sorry, Ariel, and I really wish I could see her and apologize to her too, but I can't, I have no idea where she disappeared to. To answer your question, no, she didn't leave for any of that reason, she left because her Grandma asked her to leave the family. She had suspected Moon of your disappearance and accused her outrightly, which kind of offended Granmda Nari. She was asked to leave the family after that, and since then, no one knows where she is," Ken explained.
Ariel felt bad for Jess; she had been kicked out for trying to protect her...again. Just like she had done with Ken, sleeping with a man just to save her.
"I'll need your help, Ken," she said in a tired voice.
"Yes, anything," Ken was more than willing.
"Ask your cousin about Moon's DNA test, the one she did for Candy, I need to know the doctor who carried it out for her," She instructed.
"Right away, Ariel, I'll send you an update soon," Ken promised.
"Talk to you later," She ended the call.
She could easily breach the hospital's security, but she wanted to hear from the doctor first; if what she heard from him wasn't trusting enough, she'd have to do it herself.
She heard the footsteps walking toward the door and quickly slamd her laptop shut. It wasn't ti for Aiden to know all of this yet; she would present them to him when she had gathered all her evidence. She didn't do things half-assed, she wanted to hand it clean and clear to him so that when he would face Moon the last ti, he would have go's grounds to do whatever he wanted to do to her.
No man would find it funny if they discovered that a woman lied about paternity, it was one of the things that sent them off. And he had been paying a huge amount of child support, he wouldn't take it likely with Moon when he discovers that Candy isn't his child.
She stood and walked over to the drawers to keep her laptop and pen.
The door opened and Aiden walked in, looking very tired.
"Aww, co here baby, hectic day?" Ariel asked.
Aiden pouted like a child and walked into her arms, wrapping his arms around her.
"Not really," He responded, placing his head OK her shoulder.
"Then what happened, you look exhausted," Ariel asked.
"It's Grandma, she's asking to end our marriage and marry Moon. She sent a ssage telling how you set Moon up with a man, getting her drunk and other shifts talks," Aiden said in a low voice.
Ariel chuckled, "Do you believe it?"
Aiden shook his head, "No. It's just annoying," He replied.
"Maybe ask her where Moon had been in the first place; maybe she had gone to a place she was supposed to go? I don't know, I'm just saying, you know she makes trouble with everyone at any ti; she might have been so drunk and mistook her enemy since she hates so much," She suggested with a smirk.
Aiden sighed, "Enough about them, it's it's still not what got in this mood, thought," He hugged her tighter.
Ariel frowned, "What's it then?" She rubbed her hands over his back.
Aiden gently raised his face and whispered in her ear, "I'm having withdrawal syndros,"
Ariel furrowed her brows, "Huh? Withdrawal from what?" She stared at his face.
"From this," His hands went below her waist to cup her ass.
Ariel burst out laughing, "You're unbelievable," She stepped away from him, still smiling.
"You want so?" Her voice was soft and seductive.
Aiden's sad eyes brightened up, "I want...all of you," He took a step forward and was about to hold her when their door burst open.
"Mummy!" Jace ran up to his mother, ignoring Aiden, who looked like he'd lost a lottery, veins of frustration popping out from the side of his head.
'Was it really a good thing to have a child?' Aiden thought to himself as he stared at Ariel kissing and laughing at sothing Jace was saying.
"Really? You want to show the tower you built? Aweso, let's go," Ariel smiled at Jace and carried him toward the door.
"Co on, Daddy, Jace wants to show us the tower he's built, " She held Aiden's hand and dragged the reluctant man out of the room.
Aiden sighed. He loves his son so much, but sotis he wishes children could be made to disappear into so fun land or sothing for just an hour; he's not asking for so much; just an hour away, I'm a fun land and let his poor parents have so fun too.
Sigh...
