Logan thought for a mont, rembering one of the reasons why he’d decided to go to the university.

’I wanted to recruit so allies,’ he thought, contemplating. ’I’m sure there are a few people just like that boy who are in need of money.’

’If I sponsor others the way he asked to, I could make them feel indebted to .’

Logan didn’t wait any longer, turning into the sa corridor he’d seen the boy go into.

’Every student that enters the school has at least an A-rank affinity,’ he thought. ’Which ans it’s guaranteed to be worth it.’

Looking through the corridor, he saw a silhouette of the boy in the distance.

’Is that him?’ he thought, following after the silhouette.

Going after him, it didn’t take long before he spotted the boy descending down a flight of stairs to reach the common dormitories.

Logan caught up to the boy quickly, tapping him on the shoulder.

’’Why’d you walk away without hearing my answer?’’ Logan asked.

The boy spun around, jumping back with a frightened expression.

’’W—What?’’ the boy asked, still backing away.

"I asked you why you walked away without hearing my answer," Logan repeated, smiling as he stood in front of him.

For a split second, the boy’s expression showed a glimpse of surprise, before being replaced by the sa frightful expression.

’’I—I didn’t want to offend you,’’ the boy responded.

’’What made you think I’d get offended by just a few words?’’ Logan asked, not entirely surprised.

Instead of answering, the boy shook his head slightly.

Logan raised an eyebrow, confused.

"Well," he said, shaking his head. "I don’t get offended that easily."

He glanced at the paper-thin boy, letting out a quiet breath before continuing.

"And you weren’t wrong to ask," he added. "Most people don’t have the courage to do what you did."

The boy looked unsure at Logan, not knowing what to say.

’’You said you needed help, right?’’ Logan asked, crossing his arms while observing the boy. ’’Gear, food, better techniques. I’m willing to offer those.’’

The boy’s eyes widened. ’’You’re... serious?’’

’’What’s your na?’’ Logan asked, giving a nod.

’’Ethan,’’ the boy replied, swallowing hard.

Logan sighed. ’’And your surna?’’

’’Sorry,’’ the boy apologized, bowing deep. ’’My na is Ethan Vince.’’

Pulling up the hologram on his wrist, Logan typed in his na and sent him a ssage.

’’Send your details and ssage whatever you need,’’ Logan said, smiling. ’’I’ll take care of it.’’

Ethan looked at him, shaken.

’’Why ?’’ he asked, his mind chaotic.

Logan, who’d started to walk away, turned back to him.

’’Because you were desperate enough to ask,’’ Logan answered. ’’People who aren’t afraid to swallow their pride for self-improvent will go a long way.’’

’’Ah...’’ Ethan said, staring at Logan as he turned the corner.

"Owen and Julien were wrong," he muttered, watching Logan turn the corner. ’’He didn’t turn away like they said he would.’’

Walking away, Logan felt satisfied.

’That should have left a great first impression,’ Logan thought, smirking.

’Supporting soone like that can only work out positively,’ he thought. ’He gets stronger, my reputation gets better, and he’ll owe in the future.’

’Hell, he might even decide to co work for my company.’

Returning back to his own floor, he entered his room to continue working on his next goal.

’I need to hire people for proper research,’ Logan thought, turning on the hologram projector on his desk. ’Thankfully, Edric has already sent so contact information from needed researchers.’

Logan hadn’t explained his plans to Edric in full detail yet. He’d just told him so rough outlines and asked him for people he could speak to.

’I plan to spend around 50 million on hiring a few expert researchers in each specialty,’ he thought, sending a ssage to the first transportation expert on the list. ’And I’ll need people from more than 20 different specialties.’1

Ti passed slowly as Logan ssaged one person after another, offering each of them between 250 thousand and 750 thousand dollars. Most imdiately signed the contract and the NDA that had been drafted up, getting to work right away.

’Finally,’ Logan thought, leaning back after he finished sending ssages to all of them. ’What was that, around eighty or ninety people?’

He knew he overpaid, but he needed the researchers to drop their old tasks and prioritize his.

’I’ll need to figure out if I want to let Edric manage this as well, or hire soone like him,’ Logan thought. ’It’s impossible for to micromanage each and every aspect myself after all.’

Glancing at the ti, Logan shook his head and stood up.

’’Those are so worries for later,’’ he said, grabbing his training clothes. ’’I’ve got so sparring to do now.’’

He’d set everything in motion. All that remained was to train and wait for the results.

After returning to his room that night, Logan crashed on his couch while opening his ssages.

’’That Ethan kid did send a ssage,’’ he muttered, opening it.

It started with much gratitude, before explaining his situation.

’’So he’s an A-rank with a Lightning affinity,’’ Logan mumbled, carefully reading through the details he’d been sent. ’’I can work with that, yeah.’’

’He also said he basically doesn’t have any lightning techniques and doesn’t own his own weapon.’

’That isn’t too much,’ Logan thought, satisfied. ’I could spend like a million or two on him for his current situation and he’ll be fine until his breakthrough to Silver Core.’

Glancing through the ssage, Logan felt like Ethan had held back a lot though.

’I’ll get Edric to look into his family,’ he thought. ’I should be able to find out more that way.’

Like that, four weeks flew by with Logan focused on his own training, when he finally got results back.

Glancing at the hologram on his watch, he swiped away so ssages, waiting for Professor Li to finish the class.

"So make sure everyone rembers," Professor Li said, slamming his book shut. "There’ll be a real dungeon exercise in three days with a D-rank dungeon, in groups of three. Make sure you don’t miss it."

"The reward for the best score is five S-rank resources for your affinity and a tailor-made combat suit worth up to 50 million dollars."

Murmurs spread through the class after Professor Li stopped talking and smiled.

’Pretty good rewards,’ Logan thought, giving a small nod. ’While the combat suit isn’t exactly sothing most rich students need, the S-rank resources are always welco.’

Glancing at the system’s one-day cooldown, he couldn’t help but shake his head as he thought about what had happened the past four weeks.
