The next day, Logan was woken up by the sun shining on his face.

"Ugh," Logan mumbled, scratching his head as he sat up.

Looking around in confusion, Logan tried to rember what had happened last night.

"I drank a little too much," Logan said, realizing he was now in his bed.

Despite drinking a lot, he didn't feel hungover or anything. He just couldn't fully rember the previous night.

"My high body temperature must've flushed all of it out of my system," Logan muttered, sitting up.

Logan looked outside, enjoying the peaceful sight of the infrastructure and the countless people walking through the streets.

'There's a little less than two weeks left,' Logan thought, glancing at the date. 'Then it's ti for the university assessnt.'

By now, he'd heard more about the university and the many competitions going on inside from Silas and Edric. Both of them had shared their experiences, raising his expectations by a lot.

After a few minutes had passed with Logan staring out the window, he stood up.

"I should start signing so docunts," he mumbled, turning on his watch.

A blue hologram hovered above his watch as Logan moved through the room, reading through docunts even while standing under the shower.

By the ti he'd fully refreshed himself, he'd signed two approvals: one for acquiring extra hunters and another for taking over three additional C-ranked gates.

"The company is slowly starting to improve again," Logan said, looking at a monthly report. "With the corrupt board mbers too busy covering their tracks, they can't sabotage the company or each other."

Looking at the steady incline in suppliers and the reduction in absence rates among employees, Logan couldn't help but smile. "It seems like their trust in the company is returning."

Switching off his watch, Logan walked to his training room.

"I'll train alone today," Logan decided, picking up his glaive. "Silas is busy enough with the Mana Enforcent Bureau, and Edric is searching for soone else who can take over Harold's job on the board."

The glaive he'd picked up wasn't a training weapon, it was the weapon that had been carefully crafted after his asurents had been sent to the weapons division.

'A silver-rank weapon,' Logan thought, glancing at the curved, scythe-like blade at the end of a long tal shaft.

When Silas gave it to him, he said it wasn't anything fancy. It was built for real combat: durable, well-balanced, and sharp enough to slice clean through most lower-tier creatures.

'It's the perfect match for where I'm at now,' Logan thought, closing his eyes. 'Anything stronger would make burn through my mana too fast.'

Focusing on guiding his mana, an orange edge appeared around the scythe-like blade.

Opening his eyes, Logan pressed a few buttons on an electronic device stuck in the wall.

A hologram spread throughout the massive training room, only leaving Logan standing with his glaive.

Seconds later, a large, green, humanoid creature appeared in front of him.

'The hologram is very detailed, like always,' Logan thought, looking at the E-rank Green Ogre it displayed.

In reality, that ogre was just a dummy reinforced with mana barriers and dull blades.

'The dummy is programd with behavior data,' Logan thought, raising his glaive in front of him. 'It can react and adapt just like a real creature would in battle.'

A large countdown appeared in front of Logan, counting down from five.

Logan spread mana through his body to use his Flaming Body skill while the countdown slowly ticked down.

As the tir hit zero, the ogre dummy lunged forward, swinging its blades with surprising speed.

Logan moved fast thanks to his enhanced muscles, his glaive glowing with infused fire mana as he t each strike. Sparks flew with each strike as their weapons clashed again and again.

Within minutes, the ogre froze, an orange fire engulfing its chest where Logan's last slash had landed.

He exhaled sharply, lowering his weapon.

'Not bad,' Logan thought, breathing lightly. 'But it still took too long to finish him off.'

He glanced at the fire on the dummy's chest.

'If I didn't have this fire affinity, that could've dragged on much longer,' he admitted. 'My technique's still sloppy, and I rely too much on my affinity and brute force.'

Still, Logan was happy he'd beaten the ogre. It really showed him how much progress he'd made in the two months of constant training.

'Even if it's quite normal for Bronze Cores to be able to beat F and weaker E-rank creatures,' Logan thought, putting his glaive back down. 'I'm satisfied with my progress.'

The rest of the day passed uneventfully. Logan read through a few more reports and trained his Flaming Body skill during the afternoon.

Though at night, he'd received sothing interesting. A detailed report on Harold's situation at the Mana Enforcent Bureau.

'Let's see what kind of punishnt he'll get,' Logan thought, opening the report.

Reading through the docunt, Logan's lips curved up.

"For now, he's facing at least 30 years for fraud, embezzlent, tax evasion, and three other charges," Logan read. "There will be a public trial in three months, where his legal team can present a defense."

"If he's found guilty, his assets will be seized and transferred to us," Logan continued. "And in case the recovered amount doesn't cover the full damage, the governnt will grant us a subsidy or tax incentive to help mitigate the losses."

Closing the report, Logan was extrely satisfied.

'With the proof we've gathered, there's no way he won't be found guilty,' he thought. 'So in other words, I've got a large check coming my way.'

Sitting down on his couch, Logan started thinking.

'I imagine at least eight more board mbers have embezzled this kind of money.'

'That isn't even ntioning the other cris they've committed, such as sabotaging other workstations and trading secrets with outside companies,' he thought.

'If the investigation team manages to find conclusive proof on all of that, I'll have a massive amount of liquid cash by the ti they're done.'

Staring at the system interface beside him, he smiled.

"Naturally, I'll have to invest that money in the company... and in myself."
