And indeed, she and he were truly fated.

That ti, because of her second brother, Gu Yao gave up on the idea of asking Ais to paint, intending to visit the next day herself. But unexpectedly, Ais also ca the next day...

"All done."

Ais held the palette in one hand and a paintbrush in the other, satisfied as he nodded at the masterpiece he had finally completed that afternoon.

"What do you think?" Ais turned to Gu Yao, who was staring blankly at the sea.

Gu Yao snapped out of her reverie, the sorrow in her eyes not yet dissipated.

She glanced at the painting instinctively, then looked at Ais, and that glance made her break into a smile.

"Why are you laughing? I didn’t paint it that badly," Ais looked at his own painting.

It really wasn’t bad; this was his pinnacle work. Before this, he had never imagined that one day he would paint, let alone paint so beautifully.

Gu Yao stood up, aning to jump off the rock.

"Be careful."

"It’s alright." Gu Yao landed steadily on the beach and, after steadying herself, took out a handkerchief and handed it to Ais.

"I asked you to add color, not to paint your own face too."

Upon hearing this, Ais subconsciously raised his hand with the paintbrush and wiped his face with the back of his hand.

"Use the handkerchief."

"Never mind it, it won’t co off easily. I’ll just wash it later. Look at my painting first," Ais said, unconcerned, wanting only for Gu Yao to see his work.

This wasn’t an act; he genuinely wanted Gu Yao to look at it.

After all, he had painted it with sincere effort.

He was planning to fra it and hang it up at ho later.

"Not bad, you really have a talent," Gu Yao said after looking at it, giving Ais a thumbs-up.

"You taught well."

I’m so smart, of course I’m talented~

The two chatted around the painting for a while, laughing and talking.

At that mont, two glares from two different directions were fixed on them by the sea.

Neither gaze was friendly.

Ais had noticed this early on but pretended not to, continuing to laugh and chat with Gu Yao.

Seeing that ti was getting on, Gu Yao prepared to leave: "I should go back now."

"Let walk you there."

"No need, my car is parked up there. You should head back early too."

After declining Ais’s kindness, Gu Yao picked up her things, waved to him, then turned and left.

Ais watched the direction Gu Yao left in, roughly guessing who one of those gazes belonged to.

So who was the other one?

Ais turned his head towards the car parked by the bridge, looked at it for two seconds, then withdrew his gaze and continued to admire his painting.

But the person in the car opened the door, got out, and walked towards him...

Gu Yao had just co up from the beach when she saw her car and the man standing beside it.

Upon seeing the man, Gu Yao’s steps gradually halted.

What had been a pleasant mood vanished in an instant, leaving behind only profound fear towards that person.

Gu Sheng looked up with a cold gaze towards Gu Yao, who had beco tense and immobile.

Gu Sheng made no movent or expression, simply standing beside the car, staring at her with an impassive face.

His gaze, his deanor, his whole attitude was telling Gu Yao.

He was very angry.

Gu Yao couldn’t stand his glare; clutching her bag and gripping the bag containing her easel tighter, she gathered her courage after calming herself, and carefully walked towards Gu Sheng.

The closer she got to Gu Sheng, the deeper her fear of him beca.

Under the pressure of his stare, she even began to forget how to walk.
