Jun Moyan closed the door, turned on the faucet, scooped up so cold water, and splashed it onto his face.
After several splashes, soaking his clothes in the process, Jun Moyan slowly cald down, but his body still felt intensely hot.
He leaned on the edge of the sink with both hands, water droplets continuously dripping from his face...
Jun Moyan gasped for air, filled with annoyance.
Had he gone mad, how could his body react to Xiaoguai, how could he think of those things, that was Xiaoguai after all.
Jun Moyan couldn’t articulate what he was feeling inside, only that he shouldn’t feel it.
With so irritation, he wiped his face, then stood upright.
He turned his head towards the bathroom door.
After standing in the bathroom for over ten minutes and settling his emotions, he finally opened the door and walked out.
Looking at Wen Xiao’ai lying on the bed, Jun Moyan felt a sense of guilt.
"Xiaoguai?"
He called out to her in neither a harsh nor a gentle tone.
Seeing that she didn’t respond, he was unsure if she was angry or had fallen asleep.
Jun Moyan stood there for a while before softly approaching her, extending his hand to gently pull down the blanket covering her head, and saw that Wen Xiao’ai had already fallen asleep.
After adjusting the blanket for her, Jun Moyan sat down by the bed and arranged the hair covering her face gently with his hands.
His hand moved unconsciously towards her face but stopped just before touching her.
A few seconds later, Jun Moyan withdrew his hand and just quietly watched her.
His mind was in turmoil.
He didn’t even know what exactly was troubling him.
Perhaps, if Wen Xiao’ai had been by his side as a girl, or even as a female demon from the beginning, he wouldn’t have seen her as a pet or a child and might have recognized his feelings sooner.
It was really because Xiao’ai’s appearance as a cat had beco too deeply ingrained in his heart, and those two months of interacting as pet and owner were too profound.
So much so that even now, he still treated her as Xiaoguai, not Xiao’ai.
And any feelings he developed beyond those appropriate between a pet and an owner felt wrong to him.
The next morning, after breakfast,
Lady Jun assisted Mrs. Jun to Jun Wuchen’s residence.
Unexpectedly, Jun Wuchen had a visitor.
Gu Li, who was having breakfast with Jun Wuchen, stood up, smiled, and greeted them politely.
"Oh, it’s Gu Li; you’ve co to see Wuchen again." Mrs. Jun was quite fond of Gu Li.
First, the Gu Family and the Jun Family had good relations, of course excluding the tension between Jun Moyan and Gu Sheng.
Secondly, Gu Li was indeed likable, considerate in his actions, empathetic, respectful to elders, caring towards the younger ones, and supportive of his peers.
He also made ti to keep Wuchen company and cheer him up.

"It’s been a while since I’ve seen you, you must have been busy at ho?" Mrs. Jun remarked.
"I was on a business trip for a while and just got back yesterday."
"Coming to see Wuchen right after getting back, you really are thoughtful."
"Wuchen and I grew up together; it’s the least I can do," Gu Li said, looking at Jun Wuchen, who also looked back at him, and the two shared a knowing smile.
"Grandma, Brother Gu brought gifts for you all, they’re outside. I’ll have soone send them over in a mont." Jun Wuchen said.
"Good, good, that’s so thoughtful." Mrs. Jun thought to herself that if she had a granddaughter, she would surely marry her off to Gu Li.
"Grandma, Aunt, have you had your breakfast yet? If not, co and sit down with us," Jun Wuchen spoke.
"We’ve eaten, but we ca over to discuss sothing with you."
