Shangguan Yu took the little guy along with Jun Moyan to find a place to sit.
The little guy was so curious about this large dining hall that echoed their voices.
"What are you looking at? You’re looking so intently," Shangguan Yu asked.
"It’s so big," the little guy said, then asked, "Do all those uncles co here to eat together?"
Shangguan Yu: "Yes, they will all be here soon."
"An’an, sit tight. Shangguan Daddy will go get the food and be right back," Shangguan Yu said and then got up to get the food.
Soon, Shangguan Yu returned with a bowl of rice, holding two sets of bowls and chopsticks.
Seeing Shangguan Yu place the rice in front of himself, and both his and Dad’s bowls were empty, the little guy asked: "Does Dad and An’an not have any?"
"Hmm... there’s only this portion of rice, what should we do?"
Shangguan Yu looked at the little guy and said with a troubled expression.
The little guy looked at Jun Moyan, whose bowl was also empty, and imdiately said sensibly, "Then An’an won’t eat."
"An’an won’t eat, leaving Shangguan Daddy to eat alone?"
The little guy nodded: "Yes, Shangguan Daddy has to work, very hard, An’an won’t eat."
"Ohh~" Shangguan Yu suddenly felt tears welling up.
He leaned down and gave the little guy’s face a strong kiss.
The little guy extended his little finger, pointing toward the windows where food was piled on large trays, asking Shangguan Yu, "Can we ask those uncles and grandpas to share so with Dad? They have so much, is it okay to share a little?"
"Did you hear that?" Shangguan Yu said to Jun Moyan.
He didn’t tease him anymore and said to the little guy, "Sure, Shangguan Daddy will go get it in a mont."
"Here it cos." The old squad leader brought over the dishes, soup, and rice he had arranged for Shangguan Yu ahead of ti.
The little guy opened his eyes wide in delight, "So much."
"Yes, it’s all for An’an and Dad to eat. Be sure to eat well, okay?" Shangguan Yu said while serving rice to both of them.
"I’ll go get so other dishes for the General," the old squad leader said and went off to get food for Shangguan Yu.
Shangguan Yu placed a full bowl of rice before Jun Moyan and continued serving the little guy, while saying to Jun Moyan: "This rice was stead separately, unlike the powdered stead rice from those iron trays you can’t get used to, eat this."
Shangguan Yu then served a small half bowl of rice to the little guy, and the old squad leader thoughtfully brought a spoon.
"These dishes are stir-fried separately, not as good as Xiaocha’s and other chef’s cooking, but still decent, give them a try."
Jun Moyan picked up the bowl and chopsticks and started eating.
The little guy is picky, and increasingly so, so foods he doesn’t like make him uncomfortable, not allergic, just disinclined, eating makes him uneasy, and he won’t touch them at all.
Shangguan Yu was initially worried the little guy wouldn’t eat the food here, but surprisingly, the little guy was willing to give so of the food a chance.
The old squad leader brought more dishes for Shangguan Yu, took so stead buns and eggs, then sat on the side, watching the little guy while peeling the eggs for him.
Shangguan Yu tried to shoo him away but couldn’t succeed.
"The child is eating, stop holding him, let him sit comfortably on the chair instead of your lap," the old squad leader wanted to chat with the little guy but was hindered by Shangguan Yu’s ongoing embrace.
"If I don’t hold him, you’ll trick him away."
"What a thing to say," the old squad leader chuckled, watching the little guy eat with a smile, eyes unwilling to look away.
"This child is so well raised, much better looking than those child stars on TV," the old squad leader kept praising.
"Of course, see what the child’s dad looks like."
Shangguan Yu’s tone was as if he were the real dad.
The old squad leader glanced at Jun Moyan eating across from them, smiled: "The dad is even more handso than a celebrity."
