Jiang Wan and Ni Manman stood among the crowd.
Soone said, “Jiang Wan, go and persuade your older sister. Chen Miaoyi is already crying and begging her, but she still refuses to agree. Is she trying to push Chen Miaoyi into the grave?”
“That’s right. Chen Miaoyi wasn’t the one who wanted to raise the bet to drop out of school. It was your older sister who suggested it. She’s too cruel. Isn’t she deliberately trying to ss with Chen Miaoyi?”

Jiang Wan hesitated and said, “But, this is my older sister and this is my good friend. I’m stuck in the middle… I really don’t know what to do…”
Ni Manman protected Jiang Wan and said, “Don’t try to force Wan Wan! Everyone knows that Wan Wan is kind-hearted. It’s not like she wanted this to happen!”
“Although Big Sister Yu here doesn’t treat Wan Wan very well, Wan Wan has never said a bad word about her!”
“After all, she’s a mber of the Jiang family. She lives under the sa roof as Wan Wan. They would have to face each other all the ti. Why would Wan Wan do anything to cause them to have a falling out? With Wan Wan’s personality, she could never do such a thing!”
“Miaoyi herself understands this and didn’t trouble Wan Wan by asking for help. If you want soone to bla, you should look at Jiang Yu instead. Why are you forcing this on Wan Wan?”
Jiang Wan lowered her eyes and said, “Man Man, enough… They’re right actually. I too am responsible. I didn’t stop them, which has led to this scene today…”

“Wan Wan, this has nothing to do with you. Miaoyi made this decision herself. Don’t bla yourself.”

Ni Manman said angrily, “Those words earlier ca out of Jiang Yu’s mouth. What does it have to do with Wan Wan? Why are you aiming your spite at her?”
“I’m talking about Jiang Yu, not Jiang Wan…”
Ni Manman glared at him, he clamd up imdiately.
However, after listening to their chatter, Ni Manman said in frustration, “If it can’t be worked out, let Miaoyi accept the bet. She made her own decision, so she should bear the consequences. Otherwise, if she walks away, others will just think we’re sore losers.”
“To be honest, I feel embarrassed watching her cry in front of Jiang Yu. People struggle to live their life, this is just quitting school. Why not just drop out? It’s so simple. Why do you still bother to seek Jiang Yu?”
She said all this so casually, without an ounce of consideration for Chen Miaoyi’s situation.
Ni Manman’s grandfather was a nouveau riche. Back then, he had bought many properties all over Beijing. Now, these properties had multiplied in value many tis their original price. Even if he didn’t work, he could live a life of comfort just by collecting rent from said properties.
Ni Manman’s father had inherited the company. He only held a junior college degree and did not have much of an education, neither did he have a preference for sons. Under his na, he only had one daughter, Ni Manman. Naturally, he doted over her.
However, when he thought of Ni Manman inheriting the company in the future, her father wanted to get a son-in-law to help her with managing the company.
