Chapter 21: The Eldest Princess vs. The Crown Prince vs. The Emperor! Enough Already, Just End It All!

When Shen Lang saw the outfit Li Xiaoran had prepared for him, he was even more speechless—it was his costu from the drama, the attire of Yan Bingyun. Tonight was truly going to be a roleplay.

After a quick rinse, he changed into Yan Bingyun’s robes and stepped out.

Li Xiaoran glanced up at him, nodded slightly, and said, “Lord Yan, surely you know how to serve this princess, don’t you? Or must I teach you myself?”

“As soone from the Surveillance Bureau, you should be well-versed in serving others. So… begin.”

With that, Li Xiaoran lazily waved him over.

“Your Highness, this humble official does not understand!”

“You don’t understand?”

Li Xiaoran flared up. “If you don’t understand, what are you even doing in the Surveillance Bureau?”

“Perhaps I should exile you to Danzhou…”

“If you don’t want Danzhou, you can follow Teng Zijin to guard Baling County instead…”

“And if you still don’t understand, then think about your family. Your father left the Surveillance Bureau and retired to his hotown. Do you really want to—”

Before she could finish, “Yan Bingyun” imdiately dropped to his knees, pleading, “Your Highness, please do not trouble my father! Punish instead!”

“Hmph. Then co here. Crawl over on your knees…”

Then, Li Xiaoran added, “Wait. There’s a gift for you in my drawer. Put it on. Quickly—don’t make repeat myself.”

She was every bit the tyrannical, capricious princess. Shen Lang decided to play along.

When he opened the drawer and saw the so-called “gift,” he froze.

A steel collar?

Not quite—it was one of those couple’s toys, the kind worn around the neck.

“Lord Yan, are you refusing?”

Li Xiaoran’s voice ca again.

Shen Lang silently repeated to himself, “I am the little puppy my sugar mommy has pampered. I must fulfill the rich sister’s every desire.” The mantra improved his mood slightly.

Once Shen Lang put on the collar, Li Xiaoran nodded in satisfaction. She tiptoed over with light steps, reached out with slender fingers, and stroked his handso, youthful face.

“Not bad. With such looks, no wonder Shen Wan’er, daughter of the Northern Qi’s Jinyiwei Commander Shen Zhong, took a liking to you.”

Pausing, she licked her red lips and whispered, “Lord Yan, do you resent for betraying you?”

“If I hadn’t betrayed you, you wouldn’t have been exposed in Northern Qi, nor endured over a year of torture…”

“Lord Yan, take off your robes. Let see how your wounds have healed.”

Listening to her, Shen Lang marveled inwardly at how thoroughly Li Xiaoran had analyzed her character from the drama.

He nodded obediently, fearing she might make him wear so other kinky accessory.

“Lord Yan, you’ve suffered. Tonight, I shall tend to your wounds… Let apply dicine first. You’ve endured so much.”

The sudden shift in tone nearly gave Shen whiplash.

Li Xiaoran’s soft hands danced across his abs, chest, and strong back.

Since this was roleplay, Li Xiaoran, ever the professional actress, had not only prepared costus but also props.

The “dicine” she applied was, in fact, scented oil.

A long, long ti later.

When the night’s roleplay finally ended, the room fell silent.

After a while, Li Xiaoran spoke again:

“Lord Yan, did you enjoy tonight?”

“If you did, I can prepare the Crown Prince’s robes for you next ti… or even my imperial brother’s.”

“We have plenty of ti. Until Da Sweet joins the set and you wrap up filming, I’ll keep you company.”

“Honestly, being with you makes feel years younger.”

“Even with all the late nights, my skin stays supple…”

“Since you’re silent, I’ll take that as a yes!”

“Tomorrow night, I’ll be your aunt, and you’ll be my imperial nephew!”

“The night after, I’ll be your little sister, and you’ll be my imperial brother!”

Enough. Just end already.

Shen Lang stared blankly at the white ceiling, utterly drained.

Why did all the female stars in the entertainnt industry love roleplay?

First Da Sweet, now Li Xiaoran.

Both had “kept” him as their toy boy, and he’d accepted the arrangent.

But Da Sweet’s “keeping” was real.

Li Xiaoran was just doing it for fun—though the implications were different.

What she didn’t know was that once she got involved with Shen Lang, she’d be his woman for life!

Together, it wasn’t obvious. But once apart, she’d crave every mont of their passionate encounters and reject other n—even if that man was her own husband.

The Next Day.

The mont Shen Lang arrived on set, he was sward by actresses.

Li Chun exclaid dramatically, “Little Lang, you were amazing! We watched your variety show last night—you were incredible!”

“Both versions of ‘Under the Sea’ were so good!”

Li Qin nodded in agreent. “Yeah! The three of us watched together. You were hilarious, especially in ‘Pass the ssage.’ How did you even interpret Jay Chou’s ‘Qi Li Xiang’ like that?”

Song Qian added, “At first, I didn’t get it, but later I realized—you were playing it codically, exaggerating like your uncle Shen Teng.”

“Lang, your Yan Bingyun is this cold, aloof character, yet you’ve got such a knack for cody.”

“Little Lang, is this the ‘Shen family artistic gene’ Uncle Teng was talking about?”

“…”

Bombarded with questions, Shen Lang felt his head spinning.

“If you all talk at once, how am I supposed to answer?”

Finally, he managed to speak.

“Then answer our questions one by one!”

Li Qin smiled sheepishly.

From a distance, Li Xiaoran watched the scene, envying their youthful energy. She couldn’t join in—but she intended to make the most of every night with Shen Lang before he left the Joy of Life set.

By day, he’d act. By night, she’d guide him—imrsing him in the drama’s plot, preparing him for the next day’s shoot.

Shen Lang: “…Is that help? More like reverse sabotage!”

Before each shoot, he had to purge the previous night’s roleplay from his mind, morize his lines, and remind himself over and over:

You are Yan Bingyun of the Surveillance Bureau.

Not the Eldest Princess’s pet.

Not her imperial nephew (the Crown Prince).

And certainly not her imperial brother (the Emperor).

“Lang, your acting’s not bad at all!”

“Lang, your performance is so natural—it’s a pleasure to watch.”

“Little Lang, keep it up!”

The actresses cheered for him loudly, while the male cast mbers burned with jealousy. They wished they could receive such encouragent, but none had Shen Lang’s god-tier looks.
