Chapter 276: Three Days Ago, That Person Broke Out of Prison
The night was as dark as ink.
A sapphire blue sports car was speedily cruising on the highway, heading in the direction of Mount Li.
The driver was Shen Liao, and beside him sat Gu Xia.
Behind them were Yan Zhengchen and Gong Lu.
Chi Yexi wasn’t with them. He had a few events to attend, so he could only wait a couple of days before he could return to Mount Li.
When Yan Zhengchen saw that Gong Lu had fallen asleep, he took a blanket and covered him with it.
He also took off his glasses.
Gu Xia looked at Yan Zhengchen’s actions through the rearview mirror and clicked his tongue twice. He said in a low voice, “Ah Chen, do you know that you look like a little wife taking care of her husband right now?”
“Do you want to be abandoned on the highway?” Yan Zhengchen lowered his voice and asked slowly.
“I was just joking. Why are you so fierce?” Gu Xia turned around and looked at him begrudgingly.
“Have you guys heard the news?” Shen Liao suddenly asked.
Gu Xia and Yan Zhengchen looked at Shen Liao, waiting for him to continue.
“Three days ago, that person broke out of prison,” Shen Liao said slowly. “The criminal who abducted Jiaojiao previously. He escaped.”
Yan Zhengchen and Gu Xia had really not heard of it. Their expressions changed at the sa ti.
The mastermind of the kidnapper back then was an outstanding rcenary as well. At that ti, after getting caught, he was sentenced to life imprisonnt because of his good attitude during his confession and he took the initiative to explain the cris committed by a friend of his that he knew about, which led to his friend’s arrest.
Initially, this person was supposed to be sentenced to death.
“Will he seek Jiaojiao for revenge?” Gu Xia asked worriedly.
“It’s best if he doesn’t have such thoughts.” Yan Zhengchen curled his lips coldly. “Otherwise, he’ll definitely die.”
“What I ant is that in order to prevent any accidents from happening, we should find soone to get rid of him,” Shen Liao said indifferently. “He deserves to die, anyway. His existence is just a waste of oxygen.”
It was rare for Gu Xia to not argue with Shen Liao as he nodded in agreent.
Yan Zhengchen thought for a mont and nodded slowly as well.

The morning sunlight shone into the room through the curtains, accompanied by the crisp chirping of birds.
Awakened by nature, Chi Jiao sat up from the bed and rubbed her eyes before looking to her side.
There was no one beside her.
Quan Jue wasn’t in the room.
Chi Jiao’s heart clenched. She picked up her phone by the bed and was about to call him when she heard the sound of the door lock twisting. Shortly after, the door opened from the outside and Quan Jue walked into the room.
“You’re awake. Go wash up and eat breakfast.” Quan Jue waved the breakfast in his hand at her.
Chi Jiao couldn’t help but curl her lips into a smile, suddenly feeling blessed.
After waking up in the morning, she had her lover by her side and the breakfast he bought for her.
Quan Jue had already eaten breakfast outside. He only packed one serving for Chi Jiao.
“Are these fishballs?” Chi Jiao opened the lunch box and saw the round, little balls inside. Her eyes widened in surprise and joy.
“I don’t know if you like them or not. I thought they were quite delicious, so I bought so,” Quan Jue said.
Chi Jiao picked up a fishball with the stick and placed it in her mouth.
The familiar taste imdiately filled her mouth. It was the sa refreshing, bouncy, and smooth taste from her mories.
“Did you buy this from an old lady?” Chi Jiao asked excitedly.
Quan Jue nodded. “Have you eaten them before?”
